Rock Band Thread

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

I like the idea of challenging the other band to top your scores.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

they should have added a band battle mode

that would be awesome

especially if one band was a room full of your mates

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

Yeah ... the online world tour and a mode where you and your band could battle another MUST have been thrown around during development.

I'm guessing they're holding off on both of these for rockband 2.

Or maybe they're keeping them back until Rockband 1.5 comes out later this year

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

Online World Tour is coming for Rock Band, just in time, with a patch.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

Who is Marvin Gaye's contact?

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

still makes that wank tapping noise :))

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

Piss.... just loaded this up and tried to record myself and its running in NTSC as it's an import so im not sure about recording us. It might be doable but at the moment im stumped

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

How come NTSC is a problem? I'm utterly clueless on video recording etc.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

too much to type and im on the PS3 - basically on the pc i get sound but no picture - ive tried everything and i cant solve the problem. It would work with the PAL version though but im not planning on buying that whenever it comes out as i doubt the DLC i have will be compatibl.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

Just got GlaDOS - Still Alive (Of Half-Life fame) for free, funny tune and quite relaxing to play :)

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

On the PC now.

Right - im not sure if anyones been here.. but i had my ps1 chipped up to play imports and some games (Resi Evil, Silent Hill to name 2) would be in black and white if i used the red/white/yellow composite/s video cables to connect to the tv instead of the scart.

This is kinda like that.

I use a S-video lead to connect the ps3 to the usb capture card - i have to play in SD on a HDTV which hurts which is why i always look for saveable replays in games so i can play in HD, save, and then later load it up in SD and cap everything.

Now the game will work on my tv with the composite cables... but for some reason the cap card wont allow the 60hz image to come through - i cant force it to run in 60hz either - ALTHOUGH... i could cap us playing with my older cap card... but that cant capture sound!

I could cap us playing in silence and then dub over the real track (as long as the real track matches the in game track and they've not added any extra notes like they did in GH)

It's better than nothing or just a still image i guess!

Other news

Rock Band price promotion: “Gimme Three Steps” - Lynyrd Skynyrd and “Dirty Little Secret” - All-American Rejects are reduced to $0.99 until June 5th.

Think i might pick them both up, Dirtly Little Secret looks fun to play and Gimmie three steps for some reason has a bit of the minder theme tune to it in my head. 2 songs for just less than the price one one isn't bad.

We need some practise games as well PS3'ers - when is best for you guys?

Whenever! As much as I'm into GRID at the moment, I love RB and need little excuse to crack it open... I'm kinda watching Britains Got Talent with the missus though, so will have to be before that (pre 9pm tomorrow) or after 1030pm.

Think the 3 song packs are $6.99 - dont forget, if you load £20 onto the card, thats actually about $40...

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

Nah, I just loaded $20, took £13 out of my account. So with the Oasis pack and the two $1 songs, I can get five songs and have a dollar spare for next months songs :)

I'm interested in the double strum idea - especially for bass. Brave of Madcatz to make a dedicated bass though - I like it, but would never buy it as its too limiting (especially as there is no bass career).

Good if you have 3 other mates to play with though I spose...
