My last couple of posts say it all mate, I won't repeat myself over and over or I'll get on people's nerves. To summarise: you have to work to keep your fans, quit early and you lose them (with proper consequences), so it's not your normal game (where you can restart a race over and over until you win for example - quit in the middle of a ten-song set and you lose a load of fans). It is without doubt the best multiplayer game I've ever played, including PES/FIFA/anything you can name - simply for one reason, which is, as soon as the other person goes you sit there, look at the drums and think "for God's sake hurry up and come back". On your own it's good, with another person (or two) it is unfuckingtouchable.

Whether I think it's worth £250 for a PS3 and £200 for the kit I don't know, depends on your situation. If it means you'll bankrupt yourself then no, obviously it's best to wait for it to come out over here on 360, but if it means not buying games for a month (or even two), I wouldn't hesitate. You can't beat it. More than "just a game" IMO.

well worth every penny i paid for it . got it for ps3 in feb cost me 140 plus 25 posted from grimsby, but must say best game ive ever owned
now got all of family hooked on it,
another tip to silence the clicking noise on drum pad i got some round mouse mats from ikea for 39p each and stuck them on with doubke tape works a treat hardly hear them click now,

Got outbid on the uk selling one in the end but i've ended up grabbing one from the US for cheaper even if i end up having to pay anything below £70 for the import tax

6-10 business day delivery sucks but still - its factory sealed and brand new so im not getting a used grubby broken reject.

Now does anyone have a link to a recommended disposable credit card?

Just pre-ordered this from Shop-To. Apparantly it's out June 1st! The missus is paying for it too (early birthday present!) Woohoo!

I didn't even know you could do that! There's a lot I don't get with the PS3, I tried typing a predictive message the other day and every time I tried to type "everybody" it would drop back to "e" and suggest "eeverybody", then "eeeverybody" etc...

When I am online I won't be playing the drums though, I've given up for the time-being. I can only just cope with medium. The missus is the drummer!

you might have accidentally misspelt everybody once and its remembered it

it does that for me with site names so if i type game it gives me a gamefaqs predictive option.

You can delete the stored words though and start from scratch i think in the system tab on the XMB somewhere - that should fix that extra E

That's what I thought, so I emptied the dictionary and it still does it in certain situations. God knows why - it's very awkward to get used to compared to the 360, which is simple enough.

i tend to use a usb keyboard if im doing any posting while on the ps3. its an arse with the pad

I do actually have a USB keyboard but after buying a PS3 and Rock Band I literally don't have the space on the desk for it. :eh:

I got a really cool Logitech USB Wireless keyboard and it has a built in mousepad (like on a laptop) on the right of the keyboard. Bloody handy and being wireless, I can just tuck it away anywhere.

Spent the afternoon on this, practicing on the drums. There really is no better game. Just amazing, the replay value is astounding (60+ songs, on three different instruments [so 180 different patterns], times four difficulties, and that's excluding the vast amount of DLC).

I found that the lag stuff hadn't quite been configured correctly so it's a bit easier now. I notice the "freestyle" bits are a bit laggy though and it really throws me sometimes - obviously the game knows what notes you are going to hit through the song because it knows the song and so when it's freestyle time it can't predict what you're going to do and there will be a bit of lag. But it is quite offputting.

i just got back from NYC and played this in circuit city, spent an hour and a half playing drums and really enjoyed this, every shop i went to, gamestop, bestbuy and circuit city they have loads and loads and loads of rock band!there are literally mountains of rockbands special editions about so why they are saying it is in short supply i have no idea, i have a 360 and cannot wait for this to come out, its like nothing else i have played!!i have jumped on the rock band band wagon and will be 1st in line for this to come out!!just a shame they are mugging us off with the release date

i LOVE the win/lose fans idea and that your DLC gets added into the band world tour

The fan idea means you have a reason other than score points - which i eventually get bored with on guitar hero when i get to a point where i just can not beat my own records

and the DLC means the band world tour can go on and on and on and on ....


They say on IGNs review that a patch is coming to let the band world tour go online, has that happened yet?

Not yet no, but the online play is decent anyway. It will be better when that's added but in the meantime it's good to get familiar with the songs in single-player.

Online you can do Tug Of War (you against someone else with the same instrument) or another mode I haven't really tried yet, I think it's like a battle of the bands. No career but, as has just been said, they are adding online career via a patch shortly.

Tug Of War is great though, I played five games against this guy last night.

99% v 98% (win)
98% v 96% (win)
98% v 99% (lose)
97% v 99% (lose)
96% v 95% (win)

So tight and so fulfilling when you win, it's a "FUCK YEAH" moment. Just great.

Online career! Woohoo, I hope they apply this update to the 360 too as my brother is getting this in June (or whenever it's released) and we wanna hook-up over Live. :)

Friends stuff is integrated, so you can invite friends, or receive request - or just do a search for 'plebs' :D

Online band play is where its at - you start of with the band screen with the remaining slots that arent taken at your end (i.e. if you have a guitarist and a vocalist on your PS3, then people can join as Drummers and Bass Players).

Then you can do the afformentioned searches for other members to join.

Only thing that sucks on PS3 is the no voice chat, so whoever is band leader (normally the one that sets up the room), then they always pick the songs. Its a bitch if someone picks something hard or a song you dont know. You can set your own difficulty level though - so if it is a song you arent confident on, you can play on 'Easy' or 'Medium', though the band overall earn less points...

Leaderboards are cool though. A month or two after the game came out, I was still in the top 5 for "Wave of Mutilation" by the Pixies on Vocals!! Havent checked for a while though...

Just watching the Oasis vids on youtube and this game looks fuckin awesome

This had to be the ultimate multiplayer game especially when your mates are round and your all rcoking to The Oasis pack :))

I've mentioned it a few times, but Wonderwall is probably the best 'video game song' I've played - if thats even a statement!

It feels so real, just like playing it on a real guitar. Helps its a cracking song like to!

Just wish they would sort the damn GH3 guitar out on PS3 so you can have proper 4 player band - OR, patch the online so you can do co-op world tour.

But I'm being greedy of course! :D
