Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3

Seriously? That's quite reasonable. I thought it was gonna be like £250 or something?

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3

I've tried to play band world tour on my own and it will let you press continue and then you end up at the band menu where you can edit the band name and the bands logo and edit your character but you can't actually play any songs. It just comes up with a box saying you need two players to continue. :(

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3

Oh right, I was sure I got up to a song! I remember playing it and thinking, this is fun, but I have to stop before I ruin it.

Perhaps it was patched out, or perhaps I have an even more disgraceful memory than I remember.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3

lol

I wish you could play on your own - or at least play with ai versions of your band with the skill level the human has played determining the ai skill level (so if you've 5 stared expert the ai drummer will be great - if you have barely passed easy the ai drummer would reflect that

Managed to link my profile to the game finally though

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3

I haven't done that yet, I'd have to change the band name and I don't really want to do that. We've had a name for our band set for years, Red Star.

I'll have to get around to it though, that little site looks brilliant.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3

you just select an online game - then invite your friends - then play the song - then at the end you just pick another song and repeat

Hopefully they'll give us an update where we can select a few songs back to back and play a set - but that depends if they read my suggestions on the RB forums

You cant do the band world tour online though (just in case you didn't know) - its an off line thing only for the foreseeable future.

The only problem i have with the game really is if you cant play the BWT mode for whatever reason you're fked (( My problem is i cant play BWT until the weekend so during the week on my own is a bit of a come down)) - the other solo modes are basically the same format as guitar hero - play through 5 songs, unlock 5 more... aim to 5 star them all and thats it. You earn money to buy guitars and clothing as well. Once you've done it all and got your character where you want... that's it!

I had hoped for some kind of solo band mode where you earn money and fans - but meh

I've played a load of online games and they are really fun - I've not tried any competitive online games - just the co op band quick plays.

you just select online? what does that mean? can you go thru it for me. I cant seem to figure it out...

Right - online co op play is done like this

You select multiplayer - then pick online quickplay - then after you and whoever is with you select your characters - then you select invite friend. send the PM's to your friends and then when they join the game hit continue and then select a song

After the song select new song and repeat

If you pick 'find players' on the menu instead of invite friends you'll be matched up with random online players which can be fun - but also annoying as they quit the game halfway through a song

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3

Just started playing the unsigned band songs in that secret tour, whatever it's called. I don't know why I call it secret tour but I just do.

Anyway, I'm more impressed with them than I am with the "proper" songs. I'm loving Seven by Vagiant. Singing that makes me feel like a proper punk.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3

Any good playing this game on your lonesome? Also what instrument is best?

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3

Not really, and drums.

It's great playing on your own, it's great playing on something new (fantastic in-fact, unbelievable fun and you can use what you learn on some real drums if you can play at the highest level). But if all you could do was the solo mode, you'd be missing out majorly.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3

I had loads of fun on my own - but once you experience an online game with a full band you realize what you're missing out on --- and the main chunk of the game is the band world tour which is multiplayer only

Playing solo is basically like playing guitar hero's solo mode --- you complete a set and unlock 5 more tracks... and so on

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3

Nothing about a uk release yet - the last rumour i read was may 5th - failing that the next date being thrown around was september ish

--

How many people here have Rock Band now?

I had a game with jack and it was great stuff - but do we have enough for a 4 man band and a rock band night?

On another note - if anyone plays with me and im on the guitar - i like to swap back and forth between songs from bass to lead to bass... --- it gets annoying when you join an online game and the lead guitarist hogs it the entire time --

If im the leader ill just pick 'random' for each song as well --- which might annoy some if they're singing... so maybe whoever is singing should be the one to start a game off if we have one

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3

I'm happy to sing and / or swap bass/guitar...

We definately need a RB night...

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3

The gits better not be telling me they've knocked on my door at 10:12am with the delivery because I've been sat in all day listening out for them and no one has been here yet.

== edit ==

Phoned them up and good job

I am getting this same message on my tracking for Rock Band, apparently they attempted delivery at 3:09am. I want to give them a ring to check if it has actually gone out or if I'm gonna have to fork out for cutsoms but I can't find a phone number. Which courier do USPS use over here? Royal Mail?

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3

Parcel force is who had mine --- they said it was an attempted delivery but it wasn't

what they did was hold onto my item until they sent me a letter - after i got that letter i would have to phone them, pay the charges over the phone and then they we delivery it

OR - you phone the sorting office that has your item now (it listed mine on the parcel force parcel tracking service) and pay there and then and then drive over and pick it up yourself

I also had to pay nothing for import/customs tax

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3

Cheers mate, just rang them and they were keeping it at the depot. Gonna go get it now.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3

So what night is best for everyone for Rockband and do we have any singers?

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3

Any really and pboreham sings like a bird.

I'm quite the singer!!!!!

Might have a problem though - me and JB tried again to have a go online tonight and we cannot connect.

I have no other problems getting online - been playing GT5 online tonight as well as Rockband with randoms. Very weird - whenever I do (or receive) invites, always says "Cannot connect to session"...

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3

I reckon it's that Homehub of yours, seems that it's quite a common problem! I remember reading someone rebooted theirs and it cured all problems for a week, but I'm guessing you've tried that. And I wouldn't know anything else to try. :eh:

I've been checking on the RB forums and its a common problem (session not connecting to friends) - and it appears that EA and Harmonix have no answers still.

For the first time today, I've mucked around with my Internet settings within the PS3 - I've given it a static IP and opened up the TCP and UDP ports within the Homehub as suggested in the help section.

Would like to try later if anyone is on to see if it has helped any?

Just seems a coincidence that I tried to connect to Radiation and it went in straight away. But saying that it takes ten minutes to find a game sometimes so... God knows.
