Well three points in the bag, job done on our first game of the season. I'm disappointed that we never scored as many as we should as we created many good chances it should have been 3-0 at half time. We did miss Boyd today so when we get him back from suspension the goals will come.

Charlie Adam was on fire today. Nice to see Le Guen gave him the chance and he took it well. Hopefully thats the left side problem sorted. Jammy goal by Sionko. Jammy goal by O'Donnell. Typical Dado for the winner. :) The guy is so passionate about The 'Gers. Leg-end!

Its hard not to love the Dado, he is clearly most people's favourite atm. He puts is heart on his sleeve and everything into a game. It will be sad to see him go if it is the end of the season, I only wish we signed him a few seasons earlier. When he joined at first I was not sure of him one bit, he never seemed to do the right thing, dribble when he should pass etc.. Then around Christmas he started to have an understanding in the side and ever since no one has ever looked back.

RANGERS have clinched the capture of exciting Slovakian strike star Filip Sebo on a four-year contract.

A deal was agreed between the Ibrox club and Austria Vienna yesterday and after undergoing a medical examination this morning, the 22-year-old put pen to paper on his deal.


Manager Paul Le Guen has been tracking the powerful hitman since last season when assistant boss Yves Colleu watched him in action in the Austrian Bundesliga.


The player made no secret of his ambition to join Gers after he learned of Le Guen's interest and he made a personal plea to the Austria Vienna owner to make his dream come true.


Now Sebo is ready to face Dundee United on Saturday - if Le Guen believes he is ready to step straight into the first team.


The Slovakian striker will train with his new team mates tomorrow at Murray Park for the first time when Le Guen will assess his readiness for involvement on Saturday.

I hope we can get a return on him quickly. I still feel we are short of a few players though we should be fine in the striker dept.

Again we had numerous clear chances but failed to finish. Big Dado was one of the worst offenders today. The penalty at the end though... It's pretty clear from the TV pics that it was ball-to-hand and that Huttons arms were in a natural position. Remember the big outcry of players arms' natural position last season? :rolleyes: I see thats right off the agenda now.

The defence still needs sorting out, Hutton is not Rangers class thats for sure. Im annoyed at dado for not finishing any of his chances though he did set up Boyd's brace. Im annoyed but still hopeful, we are creating chances almost every game, we just dont take them, I think when this Rangers team clicks we will start scoring loads of goals.

Yes again we were found out at the back at being incapable of dealing with high balls and crosses. Smith was ball watching on a couple of occassions and Svensson was nowhere to be seen.

Didn't see any of it so can't comment on the penalty, tho I am surprised it was given in any case ;) . According to the radio Kilmarnock had 3 other good PK claims turned down earlier on, maybe that had a bearing on the decision late on (shouldn't have, but we know how it can work).

Stonewall penalty, as where the other 3, don't know why they weren't given, well I do, but that's another debate. :mrgreen: My cousin who stays in Ardrossan who went to the game (he supports Rangers) said it was a definete penalty too as where the others, mind you his friend who supports Killie said 'You tims get 99% of the decisions against us, whilst that shower get 100%', my cousin wasn't too pleased with him..........LOL.

I heard Rangers could've had a couple, but I didn't see them on the tv or hear of them on the radio, although admittedly it was Derek Johnstone that was talking about it, and we know how he can get. :mrgreen:

There's no doubt it was a handball but after the big hoo-ha made last season about "natural position," it just highlights the inconsistencies in Scottish refs.

All 3 teams have went down the way IMO, Hearts don't look anything like they where last season, Celtic have went downhill too, although we have picked up a couple of good players, Rangers are actually looking not much better than last season they did have a freakish run at the start which I don't think will happen again but in all honesty theirs not much difference from this team and Alex McLeish's team, apart from their defence is worse.

need some more quality signings. no doubt Ferguson is missed in midfield when imjured. need to sign a decent CB and RB!

According to Murray, it was the media who made up that Le Guen would have £10m to spend. In actual fact, Murray had said there would be "several million" with any more money reliant on players leaving (Fanfan, Novo, Bernard, Andrews, Malcolm), none of whom have left yet.

And yes we do need another CB. There's been rumours that we're signing Papac in another raid on Austria Vienna.

Five players who I dont want to see at Ibrox, I think if we made the CL we would ahve seen this investment and a different side.

Laugh it up. Enjoy it while it lasts. It's the bad times like these that make the good times so good.

I have to admit I did not expect such a poor start to our season. It's frightening the difference in performances when comparing our games domestically and our games in the UEFA Cup. It indicates that perhaps Le Guen should have someone who knows the Scottish game in his management team.

As for the players, they need to start fighting for the ball and show a greater desire to win. Le Guen's policy of no tackling in training does not help matters at all.

Tbh, Haifa and Livorno can hardly be described as big boys. Haifa ran Liverpool close in the CL, but are hardly classed as a strong European team and as for Livorno, they're coach is in danger of getting sacked and their chairman says they hope they get knocked out the UEFA Cup because Seria A is their main priority and had rested a host of their players for the Partisan game.

Think this is why Rangers have been found wanting, thinking that they're really better than they really are.

I still think in the second half of the season we will show our class. It's clear that this team has too much McLeish left in it. The players that PLG have so far not proved they are much better than we have got. Clement has showed he is his best signing so far. I think our central midfield is as strong as yours. Our problem has been finishing, we have created so many chances with a poor success rate. We need a mixture of a striker with confidence, enough starting places and Boyd. He has not been playing the same role week in week out, this has a dent in the team which is clear to say. Buffel needs to start being a 90 min player or he should be sent packing, I still have no faith in Novo, Prso is done, Sebo is possibly a donkey or a cart horse, I still don't know what he is.;)

PLG likes width, well I do think we have some but for the way he plays his football we don't have enough. Laudrup is not at Ibrox any more, we need a higher class of players to play it successfully. Its very frustrating to watch but I will stand by the fact that PLG will get it right. He needs time, Strachan has a year and has clearly improved with his signing and team confidence, two things we haven't had for over a year.

When he joined you last season he had the old shell of O'Neil's team, it was nearly done but it was still the same unit that got you to Seville. What did PLG take over, the shite that O'Neil had no problem keeping quiet against McLeish. We are not any better it is clear to say, we have a few signings that look like a prospect for the future, but at the moment that is all it is. We have no real experience LIMO, Ferguson Is around but firstly he is a part of the player we sold to Blackburn secondly he hasn't played a lot of games. As I said Prso is done, we have some experience but it inst on the pitch 90 mins every game week in week out.

No doubt its low right now, nearly as low as Celtic in our 9 in a row days. Though we can still fill our stadium. When I grew up in the 90's it amazed me how many of you so called support supported Rangers, glory hunters are a part of your support. This is why your away games you are seeing a great fall. When Celtic started to pick up under O'Neil all the dead wood came back out and a lot more new jumped on the bandwagon. Lets be honest this success you have the now ( and I will give you that) is not going to last forever, where as our passion and love will and through that our success will come back. I honestly expected to see more of PLG sooner, but Ill be patient, I shall hold back and know he will bring us success as long as we give him the funds. They are available which takes us to the main reason of Rangers' current situation, Murray.

For years this guy has made us the most successful club in Scottish League History, something you will never take us for. But his antics in the past few season have caused some unrest from sections of the fans. He ploughed money into us to us for 9 in a row, nearly got us to a European Cup final only to be foiled by a lack of luck and some bribery. Then came Advocaat, some of the best football at Ibox you could ever imagine was brought by this man but a hell of a lot of debt was accumulated. Which is where our downfall lies, It has done most of the damage which we are not able to recover from quickly. Now we are not getting the funding from Murray, we have cash but he does not want to make it available. On one hand you can understand that he doesn't want to lose money football is a no win business. At the same time we need the best for RFC and if we can get that or not from him I do not know. The future is undecided atm, if PLG gets the required funds at Christmas I'm positive we will make the CL. If that happens I'm positive we will see some money being put into RFC one way or another.

PLG will be given little or no funds at all for January. Murray wants to sell and has said this publicly. He's not going to give away millions and increase debt again. A debtless Rangers will be much easier to sell.

FD, I wouldn't describe Haifa or Livorno as big boys either, though I'd definitely class them a lot better than Dundee United and Dunfermline, the two poorest SPL teams to which we've dropped points. It's obvious theres a big difference in domestic and European performances.

You knew people who supported Celtic and then jumped to Rangers? :shock: You must've lived in a strange area that's all I can say.

Not sure what age you are, but as the song goes 'If you know your history' which you obviously don't, the same thing happened with Rangers just before Souness and Murray came on the scene, you didn't win the league for something like 8 or 9 years between late 70s and around 86-87. Your crowds plummeted too, reportedly attending Thistle games. ;)

Your team are hardly in our dire straits back then (hours from going bust, no league for nine years, no trophy for god knows how long, until we beat Airdrie). However you'd never know the difference by the so-called 'Rangers fans' going mental, demonstrations for the past 2 seasons, calling for everyone and anyone's head, maybe try 9 years of it and then tell us how loyal everyone is.

Cloud, you're a long way off reaching the stage we were at. You had a bigger crowd for the CIS game than us because your game was on the season book, our fans had to pay seperate.

I'm not going to brag about the position you're in because I actually don't think our team is particularly impressive either, although we're a damn sight better than you at the moment. Le Guen is lucky he's still in the UEFA Cup. If you go out of that and your league form doesn't improve he might be for the chop.
