Rangers Thread

Re: The Rangers Thread - Le Guen révolution commence!

 LOL, try winning it, actually you'll never be 2nd in that front. :lmao:

Re: The Rangers Thread - Le Guen révolution commence!

I'm sure we could if we could progress through the rounds on the toss of a coin!

Have to laugh at the Celtic website:

Vice Champions: 1969-70

That's right! VICE Champions! :lmao:

Re: The Rangers Thread - Le Guen révolution commence!

Actually if you go through the UEFA website you'll find they list the runners-up as well as past winners. We've been to two finals and won one, what's to laugh at?

Foxy, sorry mate but nothing you can say can drag down our achievement in getting to the last 16. You did it in, IMO, a weaker group and with one of the lowest, if not the lowest points total ever. We did it with a game to spare, and beating the top seed's strongest available 11. It just shows you, we're through on 9 points and I'm sure MON's team managed the same total on his first go. I think you actually failed to qualify in 2000 with more points than you did progress with last season. It's a funny old game!

Re: The Rangers Thread - Le Guen révolution commence!

Actually, it doesn't announce them as "Vice Champions."
Trying to make losing look like an achievement. :mryellow:

Yeah well done you're through. Despite all what you've just said, we still did it first. :)

And if we're being pedantic about stuff then surely season 92/93 means Rangers were in the last 8.

Re: The Rangers Thread - Le Guen révolution commence!

What difference does it make who did it first? Celtic got more points than Rangers did in the CL group stage when you got through and we didn't, which only proves you had an easier group and makes getting through "first" a farce.

Getting to the final is an achievement. Don't expect you to understand tho...

Vice Champions is not a recognised title. :mryellow:

What difference does it make indeed? Yet you seem to have no problem boasting to whoever reads the "New Celtic Thread" that Celtic won the European Cup first.

"... makes getting through "first" a farce." :lmao: Brilliant!

Re: The Rangers Thread - Le Guen révolution commence!

Dude, winning the cup is a bit more important than reaching the last 16, and I was only trying to wind Diego up anyway ;).

Yous did ok last night, watched the game in a pub full of Rangers fans but they didn't notice my lack of celebration. I think I pulled off fake disappointment rather well when Auxerre netted!

Re: The Rangers Thread - Le Guen révolution commence!

We're doing not bad in Europe. That's 11 games in a row unbeaten!

Still far too shaky at the back though. Auxerre's first goal was an exact replica of St. Johnstone's second in the CIS Cup. I like Hemdani, he's calm and collected but he's not a CB. Bring on January; centre-back central.

Re: The Rangers Thread - Le Guen révolution commence!

Wee Lenny was just giving them a chance sitting off letting them play against 10 players as they're that bad. He even set up their goal just to try and make it a bit more interesting.

Do you not think that the old lady on the right might be his Granny and the wee girl behind him is his wee niece or something, they're liking slinging him a rubber, the wee girl looks like she's keeking herself. Maybe they got ticket's for the wrong end.

Re: The Rangers Thread - Le Guen révolution commence!

The one in the pink zipper? Granny!? She's actually only 16 but smokes 80 fags a day, hence the leather face. That's her granddaughter next to her. Welcome to Gorgie!

jambotommy - I'm just kidding!

Re: The Rangers Thread - Le Guen révolution commence!

 hehe, no the Great Granny, she's sitting right at the front of her too.

Jeez, that is cringing.

Can't believe he has a website, that's like Paul Telfer having his own website.

Re: The Rangers Thread - Le Guen révolution commence!

What is le guen playing at dropping barry ferguson, barry is rangers, le guen said he was to infuential, captains are supposed to do that for the team, it's time for le guen to go.

Re: The Rangers Thread - Le Guen révolution commence!

It was a brave choice but I think it was misinterpreted, PLG took it as undermining and Barry seen it as being captain. We don't know how Ferguson put it across though, if he gave constructive screaming then fair enough but if it was just for the sake of shouting at other players then he was out of order.

To disagree with your sig I'd say David Murray is ruining RFC.

Re: The Rangers Thread - Le Guen révolution commence!

nobody knows what Ferguson has done though. I have been ferguson's biggest fan since he first broke into the rangers team. if he is disobeying tactics and causing a split then i make PLG right.

you cannot have a player going against the manager. I hope things can be sorted out between them. If Ferguson goes then Rangers will need to sign a real quality player to replace him.

Re: The Rangers Thread - Le Guen révolution commence!

PLG has resigned as Rangers manager.

To say I am dissapointed would be an understatemnet, this is for many reasons.

First, the shortest serving Rangers manager, we are a club with a strong managerial track record.

Second, I hoped to see more fight from PLG, I mean from day one and through this saga recently. We never showed as a team as he expected us to and he never showed us the manager we expected him to be.

Third, I believe he could have done the right job given money, though clearly this is not soemthing he or the new Rangers manager is going to recieve a lot of.

I just hope we don't get some bum like Jimmy Calderwood.
