I'll be one of the "sad bastards" coming down without a ticket unless fortunes change. AFAIK it sold out within a matter of hours.

Aye I sure am, Im going up there with my Uncle and his mates their all feckin nutters but they got "mates" they'll be meeting who are Rangers fans and there all nutters aswell , there all from the same scene so there wont be any aggro as there all getting on, we're all just gonna have a huge piss up just gotta negotiate the time off with the boss..

Well mate there'll be tons of touts out and about so bring ya wallet and a months wage :mrgreen: I really hope you's dont kick off with any civilians though we've entertained fans from all over europe and never had any aggro...

Well mate the away fans usually congregate at Sinclairs in the city centre, they put the flags up get pissed and sing till its time to go to the stadium.

Its a decent little boozer and its only £1.50 a pint :mrgreen:

The United sports writer for the Manchester Evening News went to the Old Firm game at weekend to to see what lies ahead for us and he reckoned it was no worse than a United Liverpool game and that Rangers we're pretty mild, but he did say that could be down to the trip to Greece midweek, f*ck knows ive seen us put up some sh*te performances after a Euro away, lol he said that in the Celtic end there was a flag with "MUFC Aberdeen Reds"
 
Yeah well the Orcs would have been pretty quiet seeing as our decimated-with-injury side showed them up to be the mince that they are ;). Nothing better than winning the last game for a few weeks, cos there's bugger all they can do about it :D.
 
Yeah Rangers were poor on Saturday. I was gutted. The game should have been moved to Sunday but that's not our excuse. We played cack and didn't deserve to get anything from the game.
Somebody needs to tell Capucho to get his finger out. I don't think he knows just how important Old Firm games are. Plus it was a jammy goal that won the game. All the info you can take from that game is that Stefan Klos is a superb goalkeeper and it won't be easy to score.

It'll be different when you come up here in 2 weeks. We won't make the same mistakes twice.

When we played Panathinaikos last week, a few of their fans were in the crowd wearing Celtic tops.
 
Same as the last OF league game last year (again @ Ibrox) should have been moved, as we'd just come back from Porto and Rangers hadn't played since the previous WEEK. At least this time we'd played 24 hours earlier than you, not to mention we came to Ibrox and won anyway when it was us on the receiving end.

Yes it was a jammy goal, but if it wasn't a goal then it was a penalty, as it stuck Knizanishivili's arm, so you can't argue really. Your best effort was Lovenkrand's deflected shot and Varga's near OG, Celtic had 3/4 good scoring chances.

I agree about Capucho, he's on a holiday over here, it's brilliant :D.

Rangers couldn't muster a single shot on target on Saturday, so I really do fear for them if Man Utd play well. I don't think it was a case of playing poorly on the day, I think it's a case of Rangers have been riding their luck till now (2 of the jammiest goals you'll ever see against Stuttgart), and their paper-thin squad (or paper-thick, though that's only cos of the sheer volume of duffers they have) will show their true colours.

Sorry, this post seems a bit like a huge slagfest, but I can't be arsed changing it :D.

Crap!

Ibrox is the best ground in scotland easy

its quality not quantity that makes a footy ground.

i myself am not biased but ive been to every premier league ground and ibrox is easy the best.

Parkhead is loaded with horse shit everywhere and its all concrete and ugly surroundings. Honestly not saying this because im a blue nose but our ground is much better....
 
Right i will settle this.Ive been to both and.It depends on how you like your stadium.I like Parkhead more but thats is becuse i like noise and scarieness in a ground.It holds more aswell.You might rather like quality ground with nicer interiors like Ibrox.Parkhead isnt the nicest inside and it only got 2 star in the European stadium certificate thing while Ibrox got 5 stars.When it comes to atmosphere Parkhead wins,its is a football match not a dinner party! ;)
 
First of all Gnairn! Celtic Park received a 4 star rating!

Secondly i DO like Ibrox for the enclosed felling ( animal pen comes to mind ;) ) but for atmosphere and general intimidation then Celtic Park gets the nod for me.

Best atmosphere ive experienced was the Valencia game 2 seasons ago, the crowd were singing all night and it was all Celtic tunes being sung and the " bitterness " wasn't there at-all, i love the Old Firm experience but its stained with the bile in every second song but that was different that night when IMO the fans were supporting the club for the right reasons when other times a minority go along to view political feelings.

And the only reason Celtic Park isn't 5 star is because of the dressing rooms being too small, they're being redone and then it will be 5 star.

Celtic Park is more like an arena/fortress, whereas Ibrox is just 4 stands placed end to end, and the corners filled in with sand :D.
 
Parkhead for me. Football is about passion and atmosphere, and parkhead wins hands down over Ibrox, closely followed by the home of the super j's, electric atmosphere even when empty.LOL
 
I agree with Gnairn ( :shock: :roll: ), inside Rangers ground looks nicer, it's still a great stadium, but the atmosphere is better at Parkhead.

As Andy said the Valencia game was something else, the noise was astounding and at the penalties it was almost deafening with the whistling and stuff. The CL games are awesome too, especially when they start waving that big flag in the centre circle, the noise is electric. European nights are far better than Old Firm games for me, although maybe not as passionate.

i must admit rangers fans could do alot to learn from the celtic fans on big european nights. apart from the night rangers beat parma 2-0 at ibrox, there hasn't been an atmosphere like it since, but parkhead continues to turn it on (atmosphere wise), but until celtic sort out the south stand, the stadium will remain to be a skip...

Back on the pitch and we play Fulham tomorrow afternoon at 2pm. If Celtic can beat them, we should be able to maul them. Nacho Novo running rampant.

Mourinho the media whore will have his new team diving to the max and there nothing Celtic can do about it. :)

loz - Alex McLeish was pretty impressed by him against Roma and wants to have another look at hiim before deciding so I guess he'll feature in the starting lineup against Fulham tomorrow. Marcin Zajak is his name. Never heard of him either.

metallica - Rangers are the first club in the world to win 50 league championships hence 5 stars now feature in the club badge.
 
Fulham 0-1 Rangers

A tremendous overhead kick by Dado Prso gave Rangers a deserved victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage.
The Scottish side were the better team for much of the game, but the first half ended goal-less thanks mainly to some good goalkeeping by Mark Crossley.

The start of the second half was a closer contest, but Prso's goal was the cue for a strong finish by Rangers.

Zurab Khizanishvili and Shota Arveladze should have added to the lead, while Zak Knight came closest for Fulham.

Rangers created a good chance in the opening moments but Peter Lovenkrands rashly shot wide when a cross would have been a better option.

The Dane went closer shortly afterwards when Fulham keeper Mark Crossley blocked his close-range effort with his legs.

Rangers looked the better team but Alain Goma shot over for Fulham before Crossley palmed a Lovenkrands shot onto the bar.

The keeper then kept Nacho Novo out, although the Spaniard ought to have done better from close range.

Crossley kept the scoreline blank with another save just before half time, this time diving to his right to clutch Lovenkrands' header.


Prso scores in acrobatic fashion
The second half was a more even contest with some ill feeling also creeping in, most notably when Collins John clashed with Paolo Vanoli and Khizanishvili, but referee Dermot Gallagher dealt sensibly with the culprits.

The half was brightened considerably by a quite fantastic goal by Prso after 69 minutes.

Novo crossed to the back post where Chris Burke headed back across goal and the Croat performed an athletic scissors-kick to beat Crossley.

Fulham could have had an equaliser after 81 minutes when Knight won a high ball only a few yards out but Stefan Klos pushed it away and Fernando Ricksen completed the clearance off the goal-line.

Khizanishvili should have scored Rangers' second moments later when the ball fell to him inside the six-yard box with the marking non-existent, but his header was blocked.

Then Shota Arveladze curled an effort wide from 10 yards but Rangers had done enough for victory.
