Rangers Thread

Well I'll stand by what I said, I think they'll get humped big style tonight, probably their biggest defeat of their group games IMO. Teams I would dread to come up against are teams from the likes of Greece and Turkey, they usually don't know when to defend.

If Rangers get anything it'll be a top performance, I'm hoping they get humped personally as I have PAO on my coupon (11-10 was way to good to turn down).

stuttgart did us a favour too.

2 points lost - rangers chucked it away...

playing against 10 men should never have been that hard. they were diabolical as soon as they got that advantage...
 
Yup Dissapointing Slightly for Us not to get all 3 Points, But there isnt a Rangers Fan in the World that wouldnt have Took a Draw & Top Of The Group Before the Game ;)

Well Done Rangers on a Tough European Away Night, I Thought The Team played Superb :D

Well I would like to say what a wonderfull game of football that was, end to end action and alot of good play by both teams. I think a draw was a fair result because both teams had equal chances. What a fucking atmosphere there was at the game, quite magnifecent.

Anyway it was great to see Man Utd getting turned over. :mrgreen:
 
Before the game if you had said a 1-1 draw, I'd have taken it.

But to lose a goal 2 minutes from the end against a team with 10 men, it's just heartbreaking. I was gutted, in fact, I still am.

We played so well up until Goumas got sent off. After that Panathinaikos played out of their skin and really didn't deserve to lose. So all credit to them for making the comeback.

The other game ended 2-1 to Stuttgart meaning we're top of the league. Yaaaaaaaaaaaas! I should be happy.

Stuggart wining is bad for the gers because i think thats who they will be competing against for second place.I think Man Utd will win the group and it will be between Stuttgart and Rangers for 2nd.
 
...which makes beating panathinaikos all the more important, which makes them scoring even more hard to take... :o(
 
It will be hard for us to get something in Stuttgart. On the day, they could beat anyone and have shown this by beating Man Utd, one of the favourites for the tournament.

Man Utd for us next.

what about that heelflick from mols, what a fuckin goal that would have been......... i was umping about when i seen that, and just about launched the remote thru the telly when they said offside
 
Well I would've said great result, but as Gnairn and MJ have said Rangers chucked 2 points down the pan. As Gnairn said Stuttgart have done anything but gave Rangers a boost by beating Man Utd.

I was way wrong with my prediction and I hold my hands up, but looking back at the game Rangers threw it away against a team who couldn't put passes together up front until they went down to 10 men where the game changed and PAO started running the show. Rangers in my book must now win against Man Utd at Ibrox, I can see Stuttgart taking 4 or 6 points against PAO and I think it might go down to the game in Germany which will be very hard. At least Rangers will be guaranteed European football surely as PAO look like they will finish bottom.

Dinnae watch it but surely a 1-1 away in Greece is a good result??? If i was a blue-nose id have taken that.

but why state the obvious, Im talking about Europe, and for Rangers it doesnt come much bigger.

Man Utd result does the gers no favours. IMO had Man Utd won all games up to Ibrox meeting they would have been happy to play out a draw, probably not now have that luxury!

LOL! What a two-faced git! When the draw was made it was "oh we always get drawn in sh­it groups, when are we going to have a challenge" and "Rangers fans see this as a big game, I dunno why it's not for us", etc. As for the OF derbies there's 4, unless they play each other in the cups. I'd rather play 10 OF derbies a season if it were up to me, they're unmatchable, at least we have a derby unlike Man Utd :D.

In our games the loser went out of the competition, not the case here, but it will be a big night now especially with Rangers on top of the group. If Man Utd play like that @ Ibrox Rangers will win, they were shockingly bad.

You'd think you'd have to be happy with a point in Athens but you can't be after what happened. Same with us in Munich, if you'd told us we'd take a point there beforehand yes, but like us you deserved all 3, though you did manage to take one.

As Gnairn said, the Stuttgart win has hindered Rangers, because I can't see Man Utd playing that badly again, which means Stuttgart will have beaten them but Rangers won't, theoretically.

Still, you're top of the group so you can't complain ;).

FFS if ya gonna bring up sh*t ive said in the past at least look and see at post since where I stated that I wasnt looking forward to this too much when the draw was done but as the weeks have gone by and talking to a few lads I know up there (who will be entertaining us when we visit) Ive become more excited...

Feck all wrong with that, I dont get excited about games months before, I take em as they come, next CL game = Rangers. do the maths...

And you dont think that it'll be bigger game for Rangers than it is for us??

lol we've entertained bigger than rangers mate, maybe they entertain bigger than us, but I doubt it...

In terms of importance, well there all important in The CL so on that basis yes its equally important, but for me that goes without saying.

And im sure you would love a seasons worth of derbies cos what else is there, what else have you experienced to say its unmatchable, I s'pose its all opinion on that one so feck it...
 
Give it a rest Vann, you along with others were giving it laldy about how the Rangers game wasn't a big game at all, that you didn't see them as any sort of challenge in any way, and moaned about how the first phase was a waste of time as it was always too easy.

Yes you've become more excited, because now your team isn't even in the qualifying positions due to losing last night. Suddenly Ibrox doesn't seem so appealing a place to go. Please note I'm not saying Rangers will take anything at this point.

We've experienced a European final, and we've played against Juve and Valencia and Bayern, etc, the OF derby is above them IMO.

And at the time yeah I was talking sh*t cos Greig or FS was doing the same or saying some sh*t like bring on the scum or something original, so your taking comments out of context.

Ibrox is very appealing place to go, Ive been to alot of stadiums but not Ibrox so getting the chance to go and watch us play the Scottish Champions and in the Champions League at that is a big occasion for me as I dont get to go to many Euro aways now and I cant wait, lol if you think losing a tough away game last nite when we played sh*t is gonna change that.

For me personally its got more to do with the event than the actual game.

lol theres a big wide world of football outside of glasgow, but unfourtunately you's are stuck waiting for each of the 10 derbies to come around...

well im sure you's all have a big religious sing song at weekend..

and when I visit your lovely city I'll probley wonder what there all getting so excited about unless there getting giddy about the fifth OF derby thats on the folloeong weekend :) :roll:
