And while its all fun and games rubbing it in to the Celtic fans, I'm actually more happy at the fact Porto are out. Co Adriaanse thinks he's the bees knees...

As for a new manager, I think we may have someone step in on Thursday temporarily until the end of the season unless we get our main man quicker.

weve got the same or more points than youse on both occasions in the CL butthe only differnce why we didnt go threw was because we had the likes of barcalona,ac millan and anderlech compared to rangers who had 1 good team inter so youse didnt do all the great it was the other teams that did youse the favor..
And oh yeah how can you be one of the best 16 teams in europe when the likes of hibs twice,hearts and aberdeen beats youse and youse are sitting 5th in the spl ment to be a diddy league

ps.. the closet youse will get to seeing the european cup is at a 60,000 stadium at parkhead called celtic park

You know this sounds like something u despise , u hate it when the English go on about the 66' world cup . I wasn't even born then so have no real right to go on about how England are the only home nation to win the WC and will most proberly be the only home nation to lift the trophy :P So for something that happend so long ago, even tho Celtic were the first BRITISH team to lift the trophy is old news. Rangers are the first scottish team to do what Celtic have tried to do so much in the past few seasons and quite simply havnt achieved .

After all my initial thoughts on hoping they'd get hit with Barca or Milan and get a right humping, I'm actually more happy with this draw.

If you asked any Rangers fan who they would least like to get, it was Villareal, it is the most unglamorous tie out of them all and I see no other outcome that a Villareal victory. 2-0 they will win at their ground and draw 0-0 or something like that at Ibrox.

Sorry, I don't think you've a hope in hell, they're actually a very good team.

And not sure if anyone is aware of this on here, but they have a great affinity for Celtic and likewise, there has been meet-up's on more than one occassion on both sides.

What makes you think that drawing Villareal give you a chance? Sorry mate, but you don't have a hope in hell. Drawing a bigger team would have at least brought in more glamour and money no doubt, but now your still going out with a little less money than you may have hoped.

I'm sure the Villareal CSC that is there will welcome Rangers fan with open arms.................... :mrgreen:

Really couldn't give a shit if we lose or not. We're there. That's all that matters. But we still have a better chance than if we had drawn Barca, Milan, Juve or Lyon! Looking at Villarreal's CL results... 0-0, 0-0, 1-1, 1-0, 0-0, 1-0...

We have nothing to lose.

Yawn, FD has this habit of going on and on and.... Rangers are in the last 16, have a chance to get in the last 8. Id much rather play a "glamour" side in the next round. What we have no chance against Villarreal huh , glad you have such a valid opinion. Everton where a poor side at the beginning of the season and were very close to beating them this season. Yea I do think Rangers can win , have every chance they are there aren't they? Just because Villarreal the team who took Mighty Martins Men down from their pedestal of European glory.. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Depends on if Villarreal's big players are fit, if Riquelme, Sorin and Forlan play Rangers have no chance IMHO.

You can't expect a team so far down in the SPL to be in the last 8 of Europe anyway, you'd have to be stupid to bet on a Rangers win (even though it could happen).

Think we where already on the down anyway in terms of European competiton, only someone with half a brain would have though otherwise.

We'll see how you get on, I know who I'll be backing anyway, you'll get a far better bet than me if you back your team as much as you think.

Vilareal were the easiest side Rangers could have got today and they got them. That said they'll still beat Rangers IMO, they are a great team and anyone basing their abilities on this CL season alone is a diddy. Go back and look at their UEFA cup record over the past few seasons, they've lost something like 2 goals in 18 home ties!
