I thought they would finally make a good PES this year, but that "info" doesn't sound too promising... I'll wait until some gameplay vids are released, and then maybe the demo before completely giving up on it though...

Just received PSM3 magazine which has the first proper hands on with Pro Evo 2010. I have only done a quick scan details below:

* Champions League will be playable online
* New tatics system called tatics slider focusing on player support | support range | compactnes | defensive line | pressing attacking style | defensive strategy. The slider works on a 0-100 scale.
* New card system replacing the old player ability stars
* Team mates will flood the box if Beckham for eg is about to cross the ball as opposed to a player with less skills in crossing.
* Defenders can be zoned individually or instructed to push on
* BAL created players can be added to master league
* Player comparisons (between 2009 and 2010) are very impressive players shown Torres | Gerrard | Alonso | Messi | Eto'o | Xavi | Iniesta
* There shall be no Konami ID used for 2010
* The online system used in Pro Evo 6 will be used and enhanced they have finally dropped 2008 | 2009's online system
* No visible loading times
* Loop headers are in
* Ability to auto-select team members by condition | ability and balance
* More balanced refs which also use the advantage rule
* AI no longer makes automatic tackling | shooting decisions

There is also a 10 page feature on the thoughts of the team who have played the game, I'll have a read and give details later.


While I welcome these changes they don't instantly hit me with 'whoa'. Not any mention of the animations, any changes to passing/directional movements, Master League or just general gameplay at all. I hope they held back on those topics.. These changes are all secondary ones in my opinion.

This info was excluded to the 10 page feature on the thoughts of the team who have played the game.
The guy on AVforum said he did not read through it yet.
So there is more to tell...

Penalties re-done so they have more options... Yet they cant just say if they are power bar and manually direction controlled, or maybe now just instep, chip or power with the same choice of 6 directions. Not impressed!

That leaed info is really disappointing, although you can only work with what you're given, so I guess the article must be shite to begin with. Not too surprised by that I guess. :D

People say it will use the Wii Penalty system but I have no idea how that works

I'm not that keen on the Wii penalty system (point and click, basically). It works well for that console and it is better than the standard PES penalty system, but the way Fifa does it is far better.

Ok, now i'm worried
I'm worried because even Psm3 has not been 100% positive about the playtest and from what i understood they are not happy with the animations

I'm also worried because we received almost no info about the gameplay :JAY:

Apparently the mo-cap and new animations haven't been fully implemented into the game yet, which may be why there is some concern.

Well I've read through the article and there isn't much major news to add although what I haven't mentioned earlier I shall now.

Overall the team have said they are impressed, it is an improvement over 2009 (they spend a lot of time outlining where 2009 has gone wrong and what has been done differently in 2010).

The thoughts are taken from 6 hours of game time and they could only play as Liverpool or Barca
* Slower paced game (though not as slow as Fifa 09)
* Same commentary as usual (although they do have a larger script this time)
* Crowds are finally in full 3d
* New lighting system comes into effect with player likeness and night time games
* The build they played was a 50% complete
* Few new animations like pause/accelerate for certain players
* More logical ways of chesting / trapping / quick turns on the ball (180 degree mentioned)
* Much less time on the ball even tho it is slower especially when playing against teams using a DMC for example
* Some of the lofted or flat through balls are quite powerful in terms of speed of ball unless you use a pinpoint passer when it makes the animation example look smoother
* Took them 3 games until they actually scored against 'Normal' difficulty AI.
* Keepers much improved
* No more PES points, Master League mode uses real currency
* Champs League and Europa League (Uefa Cup) has been incorporated into BAL also mentioned earlier Champs League is online as well (no mention if Europa league is)
* More awards at end of season time (within BAL mode) player of the season | players play etc
* All UEL qualified teams are licensed as well as the promise of a few other surprises
* Transfer window patches throughout the season
* The confirmation the online system in the last 2 versions hasn't worked and they have gone back to PES6 online system (which has been further improved for current gen
* Response time on the ball better
* Can have players (created or non created players) with the option of having tucked or not tucked in shirts
* Penalties and Free Kicks are more 'analogue'

Unfortunately mate I don't have the magazine. Just passing the information provided to me from phillg1981. I'm sure there will be scans in the next day or 2. Full HD screenshots will probably be released as well I assume (the ones that are featured in the magazine). That is usually the case anyway

Thats a worry with only 2.5 months left of development and forms the most important improvement for the whole gameplay.

:D ahh yeah i forgot all about that, we may just get a decent konami game 1 year before the new consoles arrive.

To think they may well produce 5/6 years of crap and yet they will still be in business is a measure of how important the bullshit meter is:P

I'm happy with the bullet points listed but I was expecting more, sounds like there saving stuff for GamesCon.

Not really surprised that the animations haven't been implemented yet, its only 50% complete after all. The mo cap for NBA 2K10 has only recently been done and that game is coming out in September.

Very, very happy about the Bundesliga, long overdue.

Lots of good news there. I didn't expect much in terms of animations as the work was being done after the CL final.

I'm guessing the build that WENB and others have is also 50%.
