PES2010 discussion thread

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Lots of good news there. I didn't expect much in terms of animations as the work was being done after the CL final.

I'm guessing the build that WENB and others have is also 50%.

Yeah and it has kind of stole WENB exclusive thunder, which is a shame because those guys put alot of effort into the game yet you cannot control people letting mags go out early.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I don't think they care too much about their exclusive, I get the impression Adam is itching to tell everyone about his playtest.

Regarding the info I'm reasonably satisfied with what I've read but as always, I need to see this game move to really know how far Konami have moved on from Pes2009. We'll probably have to wait until Gamescom for that.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

''All UEL qualified teams are licensed''

champions league??
so also from the bundas liga and prem league, so its gonna be arsenal, chelsea also?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

UEL means UEFA Europa League not UEFA Champions League. That would be abbreviated as UCL. ;)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

There should be more info, no?

Really satisfied with what i've read so far... Also like Tobi said, animations shouldn't be a problem and can be implemented still.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

well thats horse cock compared to the "LEAK" (read false) that was previous in the thread that had folk excited. Looped headers is not a new feature to be boasting about ffs

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Who believed the false info anyway?
It sounds good to me, but I hoped to hear info about an improved defence.

May be the magazine players tried to hint at that when they said it took them 3 games to score against the CPU on Normal (3rd setting is it?). Thats not a great indicator though as you can't tell how good the player he is.

I was hoping to be hit by one line of info that struck me as 'oh yes!' but instead I was left thinking 'thats sensible, thats a decent edition' but nothing much else. The lack of new animations in their build probably didn't help things. I'm hoping the 90 degree instant turn animation has been taken out and reworked at least. Just want them to try and move away from the old feeling of previous games in certain parts of the game.

I never actually read the fake release of info because I knew I would be disappointed when I read the real deal. Sounds like I would have been as well after reading a few peoples opinions

Oh and nice list there PATe.Arminia. :P

A new PES always presents a challenge at first, I just think it's an area that needs massively improved and I hoped to hear about it.
Who knows, maybe it is.

They mention the fact you get less time on the ball which probably means the AI is more aggressive when you are in possession. They mention especially when the "DMC" is being used in your team. That sounds decent enough.

I'm wondering how inventive they are when it comes to attacking. I find it very easy to stop their attacks.

I'm hoping they've finally fixed the glaringly obvious bug where by the AI controlled CB runs out to close down an attacker when you already going towards him, thus leaving the box exposed.

That's the kind of thing I'm talking about, rather than how easy it is to beat the CPU.
Defenders simply don't cover open space and let people get behind them.
They pause every time there is a through ball or a shot, they double up on the opposition when you don't want then to.
Let's not even mention the 'keepers.
All this makes multiplayer matches an annoyance rather than a fun way to spend a couple of hours.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

They said it's not as "slow" as FIFA 09, but FIFA 09 at times (on assisted) was just a 100mph pinball fest, so if it's faster than that there isn't much hope!

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Well, no one's going to deny these are gameplay changes that have been wanted for a while, so we'll let KONAMI off the hook there, but shouldn't this stuff have been implemented a year ago? These just seem like 2009 features to me. And no changes in commentary either so I guess I'll be going foreign languages again.

*2nd edit to voice my disappointment with this news:

What has the PES team been doing for the past few years if these are the most prominent changes in the game for this year? I remember someone writing that 2010 has been in the works "for some time", and this is all they have to show for it?

This is my favorite piece of the news though:

"The confirmation the online system in the last 2 versions hasn't worked and they have gone back to PES6 online system"

As if we needed 2 years to "confirm" that, lol

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Rob 92 fifa have increased the speed of the game for Fifa 10 particularly the cross balls. Doesn't mean that the game will be 150mph.

The crosses have been increased, but the overall speed of FIFA 10 has been said, by Rutter, to be between 08 and 09. So it's actually going to be slower in general than 09 (probably because they have changed the fatigue system to punish people that just sprint).

I'm kind of disappointed with the PES 2010 news. There is nothing within these news that says that it doesn't play pretty much like 2009. Personally I don't like the 2009 version (this magazine did, they also loved 2008), so I guess I just have to wait for gameplay videos or a demo of the game.

The thing is, that the fake leak info didn't have anything outrageous in it, and it impressed a lot of people. Why? Because that is how it would look if Konami listened to the fans, wouldn't it? Now it just felt like a standard list that was pretty much expected.

I still have hopes for this game though, just a little disappointed with the news.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Nothing particulary interesting in this news. pretty much pes2009 with some minor things added. How lame.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I need to see a gameplay video from a close to final build and a demo before I make up my mind.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

The key changes? Our initial reaction, is that there isn't a key change - at least, nothing to match the impact of the first, ultra-realistic, screenshots of Lionel Messi's face.

From the magazine.

I don't get it. If the build they played feels very similar to PES 2009, how could Suff be "very happy" with what he saw, when he has said that he doesn't like 2009 at all? I would think that there has to be key changes to the game for him to enjoy it again.

The biggest reason I have high hope for this game is because I trust Suff's opinion, he seems very genuine. Confusing, I really hope he's not just saying that to please Konami.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

OMG!

They still have the shitty nets:(
That's unbelievable:(
Everybody complained about them since PES 2008, they have still been there in PES 2009 and now even in PES 2010:(

That may sound not important, but that is no restart in my eyes!

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I always fail to realise how people take in what other people write as gospel.

I have never trusted a reviewer and never will weather it be films, games etc. People like different things about everything, it's human nature.

Like previous versions before this, i'll judge this game myself not by people saying its sh!t don't play it
