Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Even if this is fake, it makes you wonder what actually is in PES 2010 that makes Suff think it's looking like a great game. Because he doesn't like 2008/2009 at all... So it has to be something huge I would think. Didn't he say that he's having a hard time going back to FIFA 09 because of only 8 direction limitation? If so how could he enjoy PES 2010 so much if it still has 8 directions. I guess if there are some new amazing things made to gameplay it could still make it amazing, even if it has only 8 directions.

I don't agree with You because who said that 8 direction is bad?Pes 2010 could be good game with 8 direction:))

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

But I just said it could still be amazing?

And the reason I said 8 directions is worse than 360 is because Suff thought it was much better, and my post was all about what could have made him enjoy PES so much...

Or are you pulling a Gab on me here?

I agree, i do not beleive its the 8 way movement thats limiting PES its the mere fact that they have poor animation (in almost every way) and there is no differentation between players other than speed and the ball being stuck to the feet.

I do not beleive anything thats "leaked" showing that amount of detail at this stage, but I bet there is the odd thing in there that is on the money.

I have high hopes for PES this year, purely because they have woken up in the animation and graphics department and the ball physics have always been superior to FIFA.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

sounds good..

but if you can inly control da player movement via the analog stick thats shit coz ive NEVER used it.

also.. y make the game slower.. a lil faster than pes 09 would be GREAT!

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I'm pretty sure there's been no news of real note since I last posted here a few weeks back.

Honestly, life has been a lot less stressful, my hair's stopped turning grey and I can also get it up again - my anticipation that is. Roll on October.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I'm hoping you lot will be able to have scans of the mag considering other sites don't allow it

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

How "soon" is soon for you?

Very soon. PSM3 will include alot of things that should satisfy us. Then you'd know the fake from the real ;)

I'm hoping you lot will be able to have scans of the mag considering other sites don't allow it

As you all know by my constant, yet 'unpaid' PR work for Konami and the PES series ;0), this sounds like my idea of heaven. Unlike most of the non-believers, I'm very happy with the current game, although like I have mentioned many times there are silly, careless glitches that obviously need addressing.

This latest news, which I believe to be true, mainly based on the fact Konami seem to be coming in 'all guns blazing' with PES 2010, as opposed to any fanatical, blinded optimism. This tells me that they certainly have something special up their sleeve, and are just simply shouting this from the roof-tops at a very early stage.

The early mention of the increased developement team, and the fact they were talking up PES 2010 even before the release of 2009 tells me this has been in the pipeline for a few years already.

If everything is true as mentioned, I'll be one very, very happy camper.

Also Adam denying it, does nothing less than add even more truth to the fact this leaked information is completely correct in my eyes.

It's not like I'm in the camp that crys 'We want our old game back Konami, give us the the great PS2 days again'. I've never played any game as much as PES 2009, but to improve on it again, and the extent mentioned, would be nothing short of awesome.

totally agree with you, this looks like the new psm3 info

Don't be so sure about it. Most part of it are true, but i think the 360° part is a fake.

Adam is denying that part because it's simply a fake, he is not trying to hide something. So let's not be over optimistic, or we will be disappointed.

i dont really mind the 360degree movement not being included,if the rest of the news is true then pes 2010 will be a lot better

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

It can be true, it can be fake.
I see good reasons for both.

Stil I think it is too good to be true...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Ach well now they've taken it off the site before I had a chance to see it...

Gameplay:
Brand new motion captured animation sets for all areas such as running, passing, shooting, tackling, goalkeeping etc. Even the ball and nets have been motion captured to enhance the realism of the new title.
Player movement is one of the biggest fundamental changes the gameplay formula this year. PES 2010 now incorporates 360 degree movement for the players allowing greater control than ever before. 360 degree movement had been tested before, but due to time constraints, a smaller development team and the previous animation set it was very hard to incorporate.
Off the ball movement is much better now. Players make better off the ball runs into open space when attacking, and backtrack into key defensive zone positions. All of this can be initiated by a push of the button. Similar to the Wii in this respect. Can also be done during set pieces.
Substitutes on the bench now actually look like your selected substitutes. No longer randomly generated characters. Also have a nice warm up animation on the sideline before coming on.
Invisible wall for throw-ins has now gone.
Manual passing now has an option to be used on the X/A button instead of the right analog stick.
Due to the game incorporating 360 degree control the analog stick will be the only option of player movement. The new advanced on-the-fly tactics system will now be done on the d-pad. One of the biggest changes to the game ever.
Game speed is slower and more realistic.
Graphics:
Graphics have been completely redone. Lighting is fantastic both during daytime, dusk and night. Kits show the different styles of fabric. Grass is better looking. Stadiums offer far more detail and the crowd now move far more and are extremely vocal.
Sweat can be seen on players as the match progresses. In rain matches kits get wet and dirty.
Easily the best looking PES ever.
Master League:
Now incorporates both the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League fully.
As a result divisions are now country by country and have a better structure. Would not have made sense to have pan-European leagues as its the same as the cups then.
Real currency is now used.
Transfer system has been improved as well as other areas however it was not seen due to the build being only 55% complete.
It is unknown if the UEFA Super Cup is in or not.
Edit Mode:
Not much is known. More slots for new teams, jpeg photos for kits and chant files. Boot editor is back.
Other:
Online has been worked on extensively. Using PES 6 system as its foundation and built upon greatly.
New lobby system.
No Konami ID login.
Better matchmaking, and easier to play with friends.
2v2 is in. Playing with more than 2v2 is highlighted. Possibility for 10v10 perhaps. Will be revealed by Konami later.
PES Shop is back along with classic teams, players and World XI and Europe XI.
Other game modes to be discussed later. BAL and Legends mode has been worked on. Will be show in the near future.
More stadiums than ever before. Anfield is now licensed.
More licensed teams and leagues than before incorporating more South American, Asian and African teams also.
No more sandbags on goals and new goalkeeper gloves.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Wow! They DID take it down... Now THAT is strange, especially since the blog is still up.

There was a post in a forum at neoseeker or something, I think you have a direct link at WENB's "why has the leak been taken down" thread, though. There's nothing more than what el-gordito wrote here, though.

To be honest, though, the thing about having the game be played with the analog stick, having the dpad for tactics sounds to me like a load of crap... unless it's like FIFA, you select whether you want to play with the DPad or with Analog. To be honest, having both the Dpad and the Analog available for movement at the same time is a bit redundant, even though there's some people here at evo-web that use one method for moving, while using the other for free-kicks and penalties...

Let's see.

What I recommend - and my words are worth whatever you give them credit for - is for you not to get your hopes up. This sounds all too close to what FIFA has - especially the 360 movement - and might as well be some sort of misinformation so that when all the news hit and we're still stuck to 8-directions (or maybe an improvement to 16 or 32) people will be comparing it to the rumoured 360 degree one, and will be left disappointed for the omission instead feeling happy for the improvement.

Either way, roll on the 15th.

Also, just wanted to congratulate Cammey the moment I saw the news for the shirts! :)

As a final remark, I'm a bit skeptical about the "real currency" for ML... I'm not really sure everyone understands the implications of having real currency there, but the fact that we now have real currency will force Konami to have a more realistic transfer and accounting system. That will mean that you will no longer be able to hire youngsters to your bottom of the league team at 300 points wages and 2000 transfer points, and stars at 1500 points wages and 9000 transfer points. Now the ranges will be much more elastic: youngsters at 500k-1m€ transfer and 20k wages, while superstars at 80m and 200k wages.

How will the small teams compete in this market with their small budgets completely eludes me - I never like to play with top teams. I mean, if winning the CL will give them 20m, for instance, how many CLs will I have to win to even begin affording a single star player if I want him to join my ranks? OR will I now have bank loans <shudder>?

Lets see if it still makes for a fun experience, though.

Best regards,

Paulo Tavares

For me this is fake.It is very smart text. They wrote things what we know about Pes 2010 and added the most wanted and important:))for the fans.Smart, smart and smart nothing more;)

I was about to say, "yes, 360 movement" before lons' post. Oh well.

Thanks for the transcription, goalgerd!

i think everything on that list should be expected(apart from 360movement)as the bare minimum for konami to add to pes2010,most of the things on the list have been in older pes games,it wouldnt be difficult to add them as konami still using ps2 core game code

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

but i think the 360° part is a fake.

To be honest I'm not sure if I'm bothered if it doesnt have full 360 degrees movement.

I maybe being a little thick here, but as lovely as it would look, is it possible to incorporate all the body angles and physics correctly when its completely 360 movement ? I'm not so sure. I hope so though.

I dont want to lose the realism of the current physics for the benefit of some eye-candy. If Konami can incorporate both, brilliant, but if not, then leave the 360 degrees for Fifa 2010 where it would suit that game perfectly.

We can use this list as a checklist when the PSM3 info hits in 4 or 5 days time. It's what everyone wants from the new PES (apart from the 360 movement bit - not sure it's necessary myself) so that's why I find it too good to be true.

Good post. I think this could make the Master League a much more realistic and challenging experience if the player valuation and transfer market is done properly. As you said, real currency should mean there is a massive gulf in wages and transfer values between the superstars and the average/young players. As a result we could be forced to sell some of our best players early on in our master league career if the bigger clubs make large offers. I think this would be very interesting and something that you don't often see in football games. Normally in the master league it's about building a team of galacticos from the outset.

i hope this is good i like having two good football games to choose from, makes for more fun and less chance of getting pissed off with playing one too much.
