PES2010 discussion thread

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

The problem with reviews is its all down to personal preference. The problem with what is good or bad about FIFA or Pes is also down to personal preference. You wont know if you like the game until you play it. The genius of the reviewers is tricking us to belive that their opinon is some how important when its what we think that is important.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Bar the addition of a few new animations, a slight slowing down of pace, some new officially licensed teams, and team tactics and player ability features that are destined to be cast aside unused by the vast majority of players, PES 2010 is PES 2009.

Oh Wesley, your really are a silly little so and so. PES 2010 and PES 2009 couldnt be ANY more different. In every single conceivable way. I really enjoyed PES 2009, even with it's flaws. But 2010 is completely different game, and I will enjoy it in a completely different way.

And this Bramwell geezer, a perfect for '10' for Fifa 10 ?

Did I really read that right ?

Yes and No, individual reviews for sure, but if you check metacritics and see the result of dozens of reviews than things are different.

Sure you can still like or enjoy any game, but reviewers try too look at the game in a more organic way than the simple "i like it".

Still everyone buys what he likes of course.

A mate of mine always buys PES each year no matter what. I'm sure I'll sneak a little go on it next week

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

What the reviews have confirmed is PES needs a new engine. The game cant really progress in its current form. It's not going to get to the level people wish for the way it is now.

The reviewers' opinions are not necassarily more or less important then any forumer but the problem is critical analysis of the game is often met with a flurry of attacks to individuals. Some of these reviews acknowledge the grievances a lot of former & current PES fans have.

Some think the game is and has been great every year, fine ... others (including myself) feel the game is good in some elements and bad in others but is WAY behind where it should be as a next-gen sports game.

I guess it's just a clash of ideologies but slandering people on what they keep saying rather than the issues they present does absolutely nothing. Reviews are reviews and I'm revving to go for 22 Oct but I still think the game has a PS2 hangover it really needs to address.

What the reviews have confirmed is PES needs a new engine. The game cant really progress in its current form. It's not going to get to the level people wish for the way it is now.

Oh yes!

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Media reviews of video games are completely irrelevant to me.

Grand Theft Auto 4 had worldwide critical acclaim is probably accepted by many as the best game on these current generation console sytems.

I really didn't like it after a few weeks of playing and got rid. Doesn't mean it's no good, I just didn't enjoy it.

I'll be buying PES 2010 and if I find it's not enjoyable after a month or so (time has to be given to certain types of games as there impact isn't always as immediate as playing something like Batman Arkham Asylum) I'll trade it or not play it again and move on.

Opinions are bespoke to the individual. I've got my opinion, everyone else has theirs.

It's a videogame representing the worlds most popular sport, nothing more...

:APPLAUD::APPLAUD:Excellent post. I agree wholeheartedly.

I bought FIFA 10 which was supposed to be the greatest football game yet, according to the reveiwers and after a week of forcing myself to enjoy it, I just gave up. The game IMO doesn't even reach an 80%

I am trying to enjoy Batman AA which is another 90% + on metacritic and the game is boring as hell, lacks any form of innovation and is a waste of a good license only saved by decent writing, this game IMO should only be an 75%

Reveiwers have been tainted and that was very apparent when PES 2008 received pretty decent reveiwers considering the amount of bugs the game had, even though I managed to muster some enjoyment from it.

I am surprised that the people that mocked PES 2008 reveiws are taking heed of the reveiwers now. tsk tsk chaps.

I enjoy it and the people I know enjoy it and that is all that matters, stuff what others may believe.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I just hope we are not gonna get the usual pile of "alpha" "beta" "2 months old code" "new code totally different game" crap.

It has been 3 years of the same lies, it would be about time to move on.

From now on i am sure the usual praisers are gonna brutalize those reviewers who honestly told us their opinion about the final game. So i shall let them express their frustation with the reviews in peace.

"Next to PES 2009, it's still a big improvement all told, but next to FIFA, as it inevitably must be, it's still a poor second choice, losing out in terms of manoeuvrability, player movement and acceleration, simplicity and versatility in control, and - crucially - believability."

7/10

Another rushed out review. GIVE IT TIME, REVIEWERS.

PES2010 -on the pitch- offers a superior experience to FIFA10. ML slams MM through the wall. Graphics are incomparable.

But if FIFA10 is a 9/10, then PES2010 is by no stretch of imagination a 7/10.

(QUOTE]

I understand what you are saying there. But that is also part of the discussion i think. You enjoyed pes2009 even with its flaws. I on the other hand absolutely hated it. I loved all pes versions untill pes6. 2008 and 2009 were - in my opinion - 2 monsters. To each his own of course.
I will be comparing the current pes to pes6, since its the one i'm still playing. You will perhaps compare it to 2009, and lots of people will compare with FIFA10, hence all the different reactions.

I played a few more games on the demo yesterday, after changing some setup in my pc, making the game flow better. At this moment i still dont know what to think. Sofar pes next gen has not been able to convince me, it just does not have the wow factor for me.
On the other hand, after viewing some vids of the final code i feel that pes2010 might be fun, but only against a human opponent. So perhaps if the online part really works (for the pc that is) i could look up my old mates and give it a go.

But for now.....undecided.

GIVE IT A YEAR REVIEWERS! :FAIL:

Are you for real? Are they all rushed out reviews because they didn't give it the score you want them to?

Have you even played the full game to be making out such claims? Get off your high horse!

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

The funny thing here about reviews is that everybody rates the review, e.g. if he likes the game and the review confirms that, its a valuable review and vice-versa.
So what are the reviews for then?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

The Champions League/Europa league presentation looks excellent, I hope they have a proper normal scoreboard for the next game.

Sorry, is your aim to attack people who dislike negative reviews, then do your best to attack positive reviews?

Just want to know, as its getting a bit obvious. Not sure if you know its that obvious...

My aim is to divide the fair and realistic reviews from the ones that aren't, not sure what your aim is apart from questioning others like myself.
