Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

PES hardly plays like football lol.

AntAcs_A, you're exactly the reason why PES is shit and will continue to be shit.

Exactly. And you know they dont realise just how much harm they are doing to get their fix.

Pes plays like real football? Not on your nellie! :)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Have you become the chief cheerleader for this game? there was once a time that you were balanced in your posts but now you act in the same manner as the Fifa zealots you claim to take a stance against

I dont understand what you mean ? What am I acting like ? Apart from excited ?

I will take the 'sacrificial lamb' tag, or the 'chief cheerleader' label if it makes you feel better. All I said was that I was happy and excited for the new PES. I genuinely have been loving the WE demo, and cant put it down.

The fact that I dont listen to anyones reviews apart from my own is exactly what I mean.

What is wrong with what I have written ? I dont agree with the pityful Eurogamer score. I find it laughable to be honest. I'd give the demo alone more than 7/10.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Just played three games of the online beta and....it's virtually lag-free.
It paused when a corner was taken twice but apart from that it was a smooth as offline, couldn't believe it.
Wasn't really feeling the game itself though, I felt nothing when playing it tbh.

Thats why your the Resident Pes Fanboy. You have a rep to keep mate :)

I hope the negative guys on here are in the FIFA threads giving EA loads of mess too for releasing a game with unplayable MM.

Its been done to death. Unlike some on here, people have been able to discuss Fifas flaws objectively. I dont play manager mode so it doesnt effect me much but i can understand the people that do, and EA where pants for releasing it with bugs.

But those bugs can be fixed. the core on pitch gameplay, the physics, the animations and so forth, are fine, which is probably why it scores so highly.

Its not so much a fact that pes isnt all that unplayable, its the fact that three years down the line theres no REAL significant improvement of it. being better than last years, as the year before are marginal and lets be honest here, it was never gonna take anything massive for each years incarnation to be better than the last.

Konami need to skip a year, and do what Fifa did and build from scratch. At least Rutter could see Fifa was treading water and did something about it. konami now need to do the same and give themselves a great basis for the next few years and even beyond into the next gaming generation.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

oh how i wish this would be the closing comment in a pes 2010 review:

PES 2010 focuses on enhancing the excitement of matches between players, making for a truly challenging experience that constantly tests the player. Intuitive zonal defending covers spaces and players need to look constantly for new ways to attack. PES 2010 focuses on being a real soccer simulation, as it requires both strategic play and quick reactions, as in real life. In addition to key out-field elements, goalkeepers are more versatile and with abilities matching those of modern shot-stoppers. The game's referees have also been reworked, with smarter AI elements allowing them to make more balanced calls during matches. PES 2010 has undergone a major visual revamp, with its celebrated player likenesses and animations now even closer to those of real-life players - including live player expressions to be depicted with an improved lighting system which differentiates between various conditions! [Konami]

...at least there is 2011 coming.

2 keep it clear, im damn looking forward to 2010!!!

Excitement is one thing but your posts have become increasingly littered with belligerent bias, which was not the case before.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I could watch a hundred more wideos and read another hundred more reviews but the fact of the matter is that i'll judge this game for myself when i have my grubby paws on it/

But i CAN tell you this....

I know that i'll enjoy this a hell of alot more that Rutters FIFA!!

Nope I actually tend to listen to Jimmy's impression as I feel it is directed to people who like me enjoy PES. Just because his opinion differs from yours doesn't make it bias.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

So it scores so highly but then the reviewers turn around an say that the "X" factor is still in the other game - funny.

I read both (Fifa and PES) reviews on NowGamer - One sounds like the EA maketing points and the other like gotcha - I am not passing judgment but it just seems as if Konami is held to a far higher standard and EA's flaws are just brushed aside.

Maybe many of the PES lovers feel like jilted lovers and 2008 was the last straw for them.

FIFA is not head and shoulders above PES - they have all the licenses but they piss on them with crap stats, crap kits and crap editing - the game moves great but aspects of the real game arent well replicated (shooting, crossing, heading) however this seems to be fine.

PES plays well but their apprehension in releasing a new engine and taking away previous features (a tactic also used by EA in some of their games) has been their downfall. - I truly believe Konami fear not being able to code the "magic" into a new physics / animation engine. It cant be the development of the PS2 game that is holding them back - that is an excuse.

The truth is - if the animation was done flawlessly - the game (with its current gameplay) would have scored extremely high and reviewers would've overlooked the passing angles (possibly really the only complaint I have atm) - or maybe like a true woman scorned they would continue to pick at every flaw while oogling over their new man's ride.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

To say the truth I expected 8-8.5/10 reviews for PES2010, but definitely not the 7's and 6.8's.... that's just not right.

Awesome post.

Don't get me wrong, I've been down on people who are negative by nature on PES, but when you right the reasoning as well as that I can't argue with you.

What PES needs is new leader, or new direction. I know I read scandinavian sites and the blog by Caniggia (famous in our country) and he love greyhound who make the wii games.

May he should take nextgen forward.

Ok Dave.

I know your company made a great profit in week one of your games release but don't be upset they'll be trading it for a more "soulful" game in the coming weeks.

I was expecting 8's tbh, from Eurogamer aswell. They always seem balanced, but they seem to have gotton a bit of a kicking for giving 2008 an 8, so 2009 got a 7 and 2010 a 7. Anybody can see that isn't correct, if anything it should be going up.

It's not the game for me, however I do recognise the amount of improvements they have made this past year and that should be worth a point.

I've always been 100% bias. I hate Fifa. I have never liked it. I dont buy into the concept. It's looks like real football, but thats where the similarity ends. The game has no heart, passion, or individuality.

It's all smoke-screens and mirrors, all fur coat with no knickers.

In my opinion. ;)
