Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Online ML is the dream, although I'm not sure how it would work. I suppose the host would have to be the player who does all the negotiations etc etc with the other player watching? Both players would have to have the same save file, or at least have it loaded from the host's console.
they have it in nba 2k and nhl 2k10, you cn invite your friend to play with you or against you, but only player handles negations and formations etc.. the guy who invites the other guy in..

And LAN game option would be welcomed as well...it was there in some older titles if my memory serves me well.

Adam from WENB has his final code copy now, so worth checking what he says about it...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Is it really worth checking it out, we know what he's going to say

If it was a steaming pile of doggy doo with a konami logo on it, he's still somehow manage to big it up.

makes me ill when i read the posts of those on WENB. "oh Adam, Adam, please tell us, your minion masses"

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

1. Player running amimations look nice and I promise you they will be of the same quality as the graphics next year. They will outdo Fifas easily.

2. Cuz the damn thing is made of metal and if you could shoot a football as hard against it in real life you would know.

3. There are no proper nets cuz everybody likes them differently. I love the nets in PES!

4. mmm, maybe you watch some footy games on tv and focus on the ball.

Sorry, but really redicilous of you to think a new party could make a better game. After a detour of bad PES 2008 and 2009 games Konami is back on the track. Their achievements in the graphics and tactics department shows to me that they are capable of realising amazing things EA are not!

Of course nobody can forbid you to dislike the game. If its not what you like then you have to live with it, get used to it or just don't play it.

since when has it been made of metal? its always been made out of wood, hence the phrase hitting the woodwork. I have never once heard a metallic noise when watching football, only in pro evo. Its just lazy on their part

EDIT : seems they are made from metal some places, but ive never heard the noise it makes, its more a splatting sound rather than a metal clink

I've always felt people used that as a easy excuse for not defending right. I felt because you knew people were going to head to the wings/corner flag looking to cutback or cross or seek out Adriano then in effect you defend against THAT and it was easy done.

It was even easier on a 2v2 as the human would always anticipate the other human running for the wing more than a CPU would.

They would sacrafice their whole shape off the midfield to suit it for wing play so i always used a
3-6-1
4-5-1
4-4-2 diamond

it swamped their wingers and left gaping holes to exploit so for me i never became a victim of the dreaded cutback or Adriano monster

SB changed to CB stopped them leaving gaps and man mark Adriano and it was remarkable how effective this was.
I knew how to defend... You can't just use the excuse "it must just be your bad defending".

I had a good win/loss ratio on PES5 and 6, around 3:1 iirc so I was no mug at defending but sometimes these sorts of things were impossible to stop, especially when defenders would just bounce off Adriano and the defenders in PES6 seemed like they were covered in oil (you couldn't use super cancel to push players off the ball like in PES5) and the fact that your full backs would leave the wingers in acres of space even if you set man-marking.
Eventually I resorted to having to play anti-football tactics like the 3-6-1 or 4-4-2 with 4 centre backs and 2 wing backs against these sorts of people...

the splat you want or the clink you accuse - neither!

it's a proper THUNK! and I think pes THUNKS! it pretty nicely :D

issues with the ball sounds - yeah, but belting the woodwork is a satisfying sound

THUNK!

Agreed

I disliked playing the Inter lovers who used 4-3-3, Adriano was virtually unstoppable, I lost a good few games due to defenders just bouncing off him and my full backs would just wander off for no reason.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

A lot of the goalposts in professional football nowadays are metal - usually galvanised or steel piping.

Go down to your local football pitch and smash a football off the post. It will make this sound(although it shouldn't really be heard from a 'tele' cam view).

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

One thing FIFA 10 does really well is the little pad vibration when you hit the 'woodwork'.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Who's to say you wont find flaws annoying the crap out of you after you've played the few amazing games of PES when it's released?

Nobody, but I've played hundreds of games on the demo and every one of them is fantastic, feels like real football. I cant wait to play a nother one everytime, which is a feeling I haven't had since PES5 and WE9L, even WE10 which was still sublime.

FIFA is just horrendous, I tried again earlier tonight, abysmal.
