Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I wasn't offended at all, just found it amusing :D

Your conclusion is true of 'good' players, but 'great' players (i.e. Marko, footimaster, Rob McLean) will always excel as it's football at the end of the day. The same basics always apply.

OFF TOPIC:

I have played Rob in PES5 online (win 1 lost 2), he is a great player, but recently he had a "problem" widely known in the community and I lost all respect for him. And I also consider the fact that he played only with Brazil online, I would love to see him playing with teams which arent speed whores. Playing with Brazil is EASY, I never play with Brazil, in that time I was playing with Milan as usual.

Not every player which is good at one version is good at another. I know a lot of great players here that sucks in PS3, but excels in PS2, I guess it is a problem with a new game, usually the same guys excel in all versions, but that is not always the case.

Back on topic, roll on 22.10.2009!!!

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

A finesse shot is a childish cheat Dan. IMO. 9 times out of 10 the ball goes in. Predictable rubbish.

You can side foot the ball in manually if you choose by doing exactly what Zakov says. As you build the power bar for your shot you hold R2. The player re-adjusts his body and replaces power with accuracy. It is still by no means a certain goal. It's all stat dependent.

The guys who come on here and constantly slate this and that should get the WE demo, play on Top Player or Superstar,( like MJ quite rightly suggests,) and then try and tell us the AI is fucked up or easily exploited.

The bottom line is you'd be talking out of your ass. But for some, thats nothing new.

Not sure if you should call cheat, but when you use a button to have more accuracy and 9 of 10 shots are slotted at home, something is BAD there. Unless you have Ronaldo the fat guy taking the shots...

Jimmy is superstar really difficult? i hope so because top player for me on pes10 demo is good but doesnt seem as hard as top player on 2009.I always played professional on 2009! maybe it could be the fact that the slower pace gives me more time to do my thang, what do you think?

whoa for a guy who says he never plays fifa, you sure speak in certainties about a game you never play, 9/10? that does not happen in fifa on manual shooting... also i scored plenty of rockets from outside the box in pes 2009 with players paticulary defenders with avg shooting stats. you guys give the stats wayyyyyyyyy to much credit

Please tell me how? I'm playing BAL and my shooting stats are pretty shit, shot power 63 and shot acc 54. I keep shooting and shooting from various angles but it always flies high or hits the corner flag

I even missed the easiest of goals because of my crap shooting stats.

when i play fifa and use the finesse shot sometimes it hits the net but the majority of the time it doesn't

pro looks great but i feel on certain issues konami are on another planet

go back to goalkeeping because pro evo is a fantastic game, but the keepers need a massive overhaul...more animations, more diversity

would improve the game hugely, because at the end of the day football is all about scoring goals and when you score you kind of feel a little deflated because my nan could have saved it

After spending a week. Playing fifa 10. I shudder everytime someone mentions "in Fifa ....." that game IMO is waay over hyped and just broken in places. I know that this is not the place to mention this and don't want to start a PES vs FIFA debate, but I need to get this off my chest. If it wasn't for the ooh aah its fifaaa I could've saved myself alot of money and frustration.

Again sorry for the OT.

I agree with you totally mate. I feel i've been scathing in my attack on "it". But it was frustration at how MM was given the thumbs up and approved with it being in the joke condition its's in and other glaring bugs.

After spending money on it i feel i have every right to air my opinions and frustrations on it but some people in that forum jump on you if it ain't constructive.

Watch the hypocrite comments come..

But i could not care less! I traded it in for Ninja Gaiden anyway and eagerly anticipate PES2010:BOP:

I was sick of it after the demo. I also eventually got fed up of 09. And I play with fully manual controls. Just doesn't feel like real football, it's baffling that its seen as the holy grail, its nowhere near

PES 2010 redresses the balance.

I think for me its gonna be fifa10 online and pes offline -

especially if the offline on fifa remains broken

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

so expect the majority of the posters on here to not like fifa....it's cool

I played it enough to know it doesnt feel like real football. I get absolutely no feeling whatsoever that it replicates the true feel of the game I have played for 25 years. End of story. If other people enjoy it, or even feel it plays like real football, then good for them.

My honest opinion is that its a game that is purely produced for a mass market, and dare I say it, its main target area is kids. PES is for the hardcore footballer, in my opinion. People dont have to agree with my opinion, but I really couldnt give two fucks.

My 9 out of 10 comes from 3 seperate hypothesis to prove to a friend of mine who partly bought into Fifa 09 for a short period, just how highly unrealistic the game is in that sense. On two occasions I found the net with Ronaldinho 10 times out of 10. I appreciate the manual side of Fifa takes away the kids element of the pathetic assisted side of the game. But it also takes out any slight individualism the game may have in favour of the gamers skill. I want to play a game where the footballers on the pitch and their respective skills and techniques are replicated, that IS the ONLY way to simulate a real game of football. Fully Manual is just not my bag mate. I want to play with a team and 'feel' the team. Not just look at them. To me they are just names, and completely without soul for the most part.

Gomito, it wasnt that long ago that you were raving about the condition arrows, and how Fifa doesnt have that. Never mind the stats which add infinite more variables to the individualism of the players. If you cant see or appreciate that pal, then I cant teach you. Conversation over.

And Buzzy, yeah mate, its pretty tough on Superstar level, you get very little time to think and you always need to be at least 2 steps ahead of the game. I like that, but its fucking hard.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Can you imagine if another footy game came along and was better than PES and Fifa. Surely someone out there can see a huge opportunity to become very very rich by making such a game.

And I am sure some big company would happily throw huge amounts of cash at it to develop it, because it would be a guaranteed success.

I mean the blueprint is simply, take the best bits of fifa, the best bits of PES, have Football Kingdom nets and wait for the millions to flow in.

The potential is off the chart, imagine stealing PES and Fifa fans, thats a big number, and it could so easily be done.

There's got to be a Brit company out there that could pull this off.

And imagine if there was only really one footy game to buy each year, it would be a lot friendlier round here.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

^^^Really? Corners in the game have the same sided foot kick and they glide pretty well, although they do look a bit off.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I'm not a fanboy. I was a PES fanboy sometimes. Now I'm a neutral gamer that likes FIFA over PES.

Seriously, how robotic are the animations/movement of the players? It is physically impossible to hit the ball like that (look at shots from Ronaldo, Alonso).

I think the movement is the biggest issue to solve for Konami.

OFF TOPIC:

I have played Rob in PES5 online (win 1 lost 2), he is a great player, but recently he had a "problem" widely known in the community and I lost all respect for him.

Alot of people did (I had my own problems with him I'm not willing to discuss), but he isn't a bad person. I know him away from the scene, he's thankfully put that behind him now and we're good mates.

I was involved from the very start when that started coming out, and I'm still not aware of the 100% truth so don't believe everything you hear.

Sidenote: Really all I want to say on that, it was a long time ago now.

And I also consider the fact that he played only with Brazil online, I would love to see him playing with teams which arent speed whores. Playing with Brazil is EASY, I never play with Brazil, in that time I was playing with Milan as usual.

TBH Rob can pull off moves with teams like Rangers that others can only dream of.

Most people think players like Rob etc are crap when they have to play with crap/smallish teams. It's the exact opposite and I'm talking from both online and offline experience against the best Scotland has to offer.

The easiest example of this is Rob's consistent performances in PESFan's ESL, and 1 of of Scotland's top 4 winning every small team event this season.

Not every player which is good at one version is good at another. I know a lot of great players here that sucks in PS3, but excels in PS2, I guess it is a problem with a new game, usually the same guys excel in all versions, but that is not always the case.

TBF it depends on how you define 'great'. If you check PESRankings and follow it you see the trends of people who are consistently near the top. Oz idris (being 1 example) had barely played PES for the past 2/3 years due to work commitments, came in this season and reached the final of the Main Event.

Class is permanent when it comes to PES. You don't just lose it :)
