PES2010 discussion thread

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

bit of bullying going on here against charlievolano, forum posters are supposed to differ in opinion....surely that's the whole point of a forum

That's fine and all, but a constant barrage of negative posts about a game he has no intention of buying just seems like trolling to me.

Agreed 100% mate. They also have the cheek to run back to a certain other board and call guys on here "fanboys" for saying anything positive on it.

The door swings both ways i'm afraid

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Can anyone give us feedback on how the game feels now?

Because this looks like a totally different game to the demo (even the we10). And by just looking at it, it looks a lot sharper, smoother and more fluid.

Would be great if someone could confirm though.

Look so fast.. For me , this look like PES 4 , same speed .

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Excellent match that, enjoyed it. Decent players, although they played it safe. First goal was brilliant, lovely flick to initiate the one, two, then a lovely weighted ball and cool finish. Inter's headed equaliser was a cute deft header, really liked that. And the final Inter goal was a cracker.

Some nice football at times. A little too much running at times though and would have liked to see a few attempted tricks here and there. But overall, a competative game.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I think it depends on the camera its filmed on, other vids I have seen recently have been at a slower pace.

It should look slower on wide actually. It might be how they compressed the video though. It surely can't be so fast and seabass himself said they slowed things down.

It does look like the usual pes, u can definitely see all the familiar attack patterns, defense mistakes, animations and cutscenes.

Intro, menu' and visual are very good. Those beta testers should show up and tell us about the on line.

It's difficult to tell with these videos. Every year I think the game looks too fast (going back to the old PS2 days) but when I get to play it the pace seems fine.

Video taped games on Youtube are always faster than what it really is. One shouldn't take the speed seriously. Many have said that the final version is a bit slower then the demo even. So that with optimism.

Careful. That sounds like fanboy talk..

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I like those PESFan videos. It looks very polished and sharp and the gameplay is smooth and flowing. If anything the videos prove that you can have a good competitive game with PES this year, I only hope it translates well online.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Any news if the online mode will be laggy? PES2009 was simply a joke for online.

Star trek came to mind.

Konami mentioned a couple of months back that they were going back to the PES6 online set-up, which worked very well.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

If anyone read the description of the video, I am one of the 2 players playing in the video (I am Real, Marko9Gardinic is Inter)

I am NDA'd until the 15th but I'll confirm what I can.

Youtube doesn't do it justice. See below

LOL @ decent - Marko is one of the finest players in the country and was the PES6 Euro finals runner up :p

Anyway...in top class games there is a lot of metagame going on, trying to out think each other. Just to say this was only like our 2nd or 3rd game aswell, so we were both still adjusting to the different changes in movement. As for playing it safe, Marko's game is based on pure possession, and I've played Marko enough times to know that giving the ball to him = 10 mins of game time without seeing it again :D

...and thanks for the props on the first goal :BOP:

Hmmm. I don't really understand what you mean by this and i can't really defend the game without breaking my NDA, so I'll come back at a later date to confirm my stance :)

Well, being good in one version of PES does not mean automatically you are good in all versions, so probably as you said you are adjusting it... specially when the style of the game is completely different to PES 2009 so you should not take it the word decent as offensive at all.

Hope to see you all @ online.

I wasn't offended at all, just found it amusing :D

Your conclusion is true of 'good' players, but 'great' players (i.e. Marko, footimaster, Rob McLean) will always excel as it's football at the end of the day. The same basics always apply.
