I think it is a good idea to read all my posts about PES 2010.
It is a mix between good and bad points and although I admit to be a PESfan, I have stated a lot of critical notes. In fact, I got an argument with Adam because he found me too negative!
So two people on opposite sites of the PES-spectrum ( you and Adam ) say opposite things about me, so the truth will be in the middle, I guess ;)

340 pages of whine, do you think I'm complaining about his whining because I'm a fanboy of sorts? This is my opinion, I just don't see him being constructive with his criticism because all you need to do is go a few pages back before someone mentions Fifa or animations.

For all it's failings PES2009 ain't all that bad. Nowhere as bad a 08 but certainly playable.

I sense all the FIFA guys getting ready to maul PES10 before a release due to FIFA10's innovative bugfest. The fact is Konami have a serious chance to get some credit back but i feel it's maybe another 2 releases away before it finally gets where it is suppose to be.

This could also be a record year in patch releases for both games due to glitches needing ironed out i suspect!!

come on lads, u really see something new in that "final code" video?? same as the demo, pretty poor game compared to his fellow sports games.

That's it a joke right? Even on slow the game still plays fast whatever settings you use.

To use an example; you could argue PES is on assisted settings (bar the shooting being somewhere between assisted and semi). Stick FIFA on assisted now put both side by side and tell me FIFA looks like a football match in terms of pace. You'd have to be crazy to think that, it's ping pong nonsense from start to finish.

Your starting to sound more and more like your actually employed by EA to come and bash the game and repeat yourself over and over on every page of this thread....your getting boring man!

I think a lot of people are jumping on the animation bandwagon now. OK, PES doesn't have a lot of new animations this year, but so what. The game still looks fun and is very playable. I've had more fun on the PES demo this year than on the final release of FIFA 10 even though it is supposed to be a proper football sim. FIFA may look nice in motion but the gameplay still suffers in a lot of areas for me. Which is what matters.

To say FIFA is the holy grail for animations is nonsense, especially when you look at some of the shooting animations and the look of dislocation in some of the moves; specifically the goalkeepers (kicking the ball out and stretching to save) and clearance animations. Now NBA 2K10 for me is perhaps the best example of using animations to their real potential. That's your holy grail right there.

We've seen the final code now, we know which animations are in and which aren't. What's the point is banging on about something that's not going to be improved this year? It sounds to me like a lot of naysayers in this thread are secretly looking forward to playing PES this year, but they're trying to come up with reasons to convince themselves that they aren't going to enjoy it. I'm pleased with the new videos, the game looks a lot smoother, the response issues seem to have been fixed and the goalkeepers seem to be a lot more intelligent than before. Bring on the 23rd!

Reading this comment I wonder which game was tested by one of DKZ forum admins. It is incredible that a person can have a completely different point of view. There is a lot of praising to the game. Anyway, after playing the FIFA's demo, I just dont bother. I dont like it.

Hope PES is going back a bit to the simulation roots. And I pray to Archangel Raphael to remove the FU***** automatic tackles, passes and deflections. Another thing that bugs me in the demo is the deflections with square, they dont going very far like past games... weird that nobody mentioned it here...

what the fifa series lacks is invididuality, sure it moves very well and sounds good with great modes and online but does it really have that genuine "get in there" feeling? i watch replays of goals scored against me online and they all look the same, clinical finishes seem scripted, diving headers dont seem to be the norm either does chest control, volley, top corner or outside the box across the keeper. it lacks that "must have another ten games" feeling.

If Konami manage to ever place genuine fluid motion capture into the pro evo series and iron out any robotic animations then EA had better step up two gears.
