Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

LOL funniest WENB post ever.....he's claiming old tv have better response time than new HD tvs...??? Well then he should specify what are the precise response time of his two tvs...

It seems someone is blaming everything but konami...

Believe it or not but I played a bit with the screen-settings on my Xbox 360 and the game is much faster ( not good ) and more responsive ( good ) on 720p.
On the ( for me ) usual setting of 1080i the game has the right speed but suffers from button-delay at moments...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Re. those response times, don't discount the possibility that the demo isn't some bizarre eccentricity of Konami's, but is instead the way PES2010 is meant to be and an actual representation of the final game. For many, that'll be an horrific prospect, but for others it'll be a whole new satisfying ball game to learn.

As usual people tend to mess things up terminologically:

Every tv you buy has a specific response time measured in milliseconds. It is quite an important thing to check if you are an avid videogamer. I don't believe the LCD HD tv mentioned on WENB can possibly have that effect we experieced in the pes 2010 demo. It is very unlikely (if not impossible) you experiece this sort of "lag" due the tv since we are talking about 8/16 ms...

Response time in the demo is mostly due to:
1) Konami wanting a more sim game and therefore intentionally slowing down the ability to quickly control your player
2) The fact (quite common in the past sport games) that animation can't be broken down and therefore you have to wait untill the entire animation ends before the game is mapping your next move
3) Poor programming of the button pressing/game action move.

I echo your second point. It's an old-gen animation engine where animations are either interrupted, stuttered or wait to complete in appropriaely, and it's impossible to motion capture every single possibility which is why PES needs a next-gen animation engine that generates movements like any other sports game...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

No it has nothing to do with the response-time of the TV. I just notice the differences mentioned. I did not go into the causes. It is just a fact that the game runs faster on 720p than on 1080i.
Why that is? I don't know.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Problem being konami has refused to take any direction with pes, they took pes 2008 game engine and try to polish it a bit. You can like or dislike fifa, but it is light years ahed in tech development.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I want to post a rant here

TBH I'm getting tired with all these same old cheating AI, they're always seem to be a feet besides my players so no matter how I do first touch they're easily dispossessed me and this combined with the god power like they always have, they're always easily get the ball from my players feet as like they're playing against 7 year olds...add the fact that this pes10 demo is one of the slowest responsive pes ever then I guess you can understand my frustration here.

they also seems having the better passing, off the ball movements, teamworks and team movements compared to no matter what I prepare my teams.

this is getting old, provide better AI goddamn konami! don't just make them do cheap cheats like that, this has already been since the first ISS.

this also prove that actually this game is made from an outdated engine that just got the same new cosmetics every damn years.

*edit :

and the AI seems to have far better responses that me lol, understandable since they're just made of codes, however this could make PES2010 the most frustrating PES for single player ever!

Why that is? I don't know.

It might be your visual perception that change, game probably runs the same. Like on wide cam/normal cam for example, seems obvously faster on normal camera.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I think the demo is quite good.

Regarding the response issues I don't have a problem apart from it is impossible to hit a 1st time shot

No, really, it is not. There is a clear difference (for instance ) how Messi sprints in both settings.
On 720p he is much faster than on 1080i.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

1080i? Han I guess you are wrong, PES only works at 720p...

Usually I dont agree with charlievolano posts (they often are just silly) but this time I completely agree with him.

About PES 2008 not stuttering in SD tv's, that is not true, it was shit in a SDTV, in a HDTV or in a B&W TV... come on...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Just to clarify; PES 2008 did stutter on SD and was smoother on HD; I experienced it myself on both my HDTV/SDTVs. Also on PC the game is gimped at 75hz and smooth on 60hz.

Konami Digital Entertainment is aware that some players of PES2008 are experiencing “stuttering” by their machine when playing on PS3. (This does not occur on other formats). After checking the matter we have found that the problem is primarily taking place where the user is not playing the game in high definition.

The solution to this problem is to play the game on an HD TV (high definition screen) with an HDMI or component cable and the PS3 set to output in 720p resolution or above. This should prevent the problem and allow the player to enjoy the full HD experience provided by their PlayStation 3.

Please note: to achieve high definition it is necessary to use HDMI or component cables instead of the AV (composite) cable supplied with the PS3.

We are continuing to work on finding a solution for those people who do not have access to an HD TV.

In the meantime Konami would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused

There are definately anomalies in the konami coding. Perhaps it is just normal service resuming with these different speeds at different resolutions.

MODS: I suggest you close down this thread for "personal agreement"...things are getting really mixed up here...:PIG:

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

In pes 2010 the response time was so annoying for me and for most of the user it was not realistic .. and here came the easy temporary solution ... and It worked like a charm the response time is just in line with the games speed.no more annoying Delay when u pressed pass and it didnt pass or u presed shoot and it didnt shoot or tacle its awesome.

Make your XBOX360 or PS3 run in 480P instead of an HD resolution....the game is absolutely magnificent.

For PC users try turning the Vsync off...

tell me if this works for everyone...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Just tried this on the PS3 and PC version. On the PS3 it's exactly the same, just with horrendous visuals and a few more stutters. On the PC, turning off vsync makes it stutter even more, animations don't fully complete and it feels juddery.

Sorry but those suggestions are flawed.

Argh....anyway response time isn't too big of an issue for me, i'd rather have slow response than quick ones to avoid all those kids who take 1 superutter player and start a million bs moves...

Thanks. I was astonished when the suggestion implied it was a graphics/resources thing, when it's clear that it's an animations thing.

Placebo effect, I suppose.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Just watched an interview with the guy that produce COD2mw, he clearly said once the game is finished and bug free they'll be thinking about a demo. Which seems pretty obvious....dunno why a company would release a buggy demo....

I guess it had something to do with FIFA10's demo, and not wanting people to get used to playing it for a month or something, which sounds like a pretty good reason to me... The demo isn't THAT bugged...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Both Fifa and PES should refrain from being all rushy and try taking a year or 2 off and give us a bug-free game. They can always release updates through patches or game packs on live or PSN for some money. Don't think it would hurt them.

I gotta say the 360 version looks better than the PS3, which has worst antialiasing (if any, at all) and is generally darker

it works, however it quite destroys the tactical side and become more like 2009 :( I'm using pc version.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Anyone else noticed how some stadiums have some effect on game speed? From past experience with all PES's, some stadiums have faster game pace than others. I think its still the case with this one too. I think responses Ville Marie stadium are quite faster than Anfield's. Anyone else experience this?

LOL, good one. and give up the opportunity to snatch $50 year after year from the ever-loyal fans? Tell me you didn't seriously think about that before you posted.

I've always thought Konami (and EA) would do without releasing football games every year. Since they're almost identical and more tweaks than anything, it can be done through updates via Live or PSN. Wouldn't mind paying for that also. Only then release the next game when its different. No need for a year after year game.
