Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread (PC + 360 demos out now!)

So, it's basically the Fifa system now?

I've not had a penalty yet in the demo. The Fifa system is great whereas penalties in PES were always a CPU decided lottery.

The FIFA system only decides inaccuracy based on the power bar. Little power = the shot goes closer to the center of the goal. More power = further out, but also more risk.

In PES the powerbar I suppose gives some inaccuracy and the height, but the timing when you press the directional key in a direction decides how far to the sides the shot goes. So if you press to the left just as you power up the shot, the ball might go 2 meters wide, but if you wait a second after powering up, then press left, the ball might hit the post or go just in (not actually the amount of time you need to hold it, but you get the jist. The reason they use this system most likely is because it translates perfectly to the d-pad aswell. If you use the analog stick you can just basically tilt that a certain amount to decide how far to the side to put the ball, but if you only have a digital input, the duration and timing of when you press to the side is a good system.

At least I can guaruntee different nets, crowd effects, scoreboards etc, etc.

I have actually decided to build my own high end gaming rig for other games like operation flashpoint, COD etc. Have a peak of the spec in the PC forum.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Quote from Caniggia on WENB:
Hello guys. Long time no seen.

I've been playing the game on both LCD HD-TV and on an old Widescreen 16:9 60hz TV and I think there are major differences in response. On a LCD TV the response seems much worse than on an old TV. On my old TV I do not have any response issues at all. It is just as good as PES 2009 even.

Will you guys tamper a bit with the settings and try them out. If the game were developed on 16:9 TV:s it is understandable that these fixes do not happen until last minute.

What settings does he mean? Have you guys any idea?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

LOL funniest WENB post ever.....he's claiming old tv have better response time than new HD tvs...??? Well then he should specify what are the precise response time of his two tvs...

It seems someone is blaming everything but konami...

That does seem an odd excuse especially when no other game has this problem on HDTVs.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I like the header pic at WENB: Will mo-cap make the game unresponsive?

I guess we'll know when Konami finally get round to implementing it.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Funny coincidence, I was playing a whole lot of offline multi player matches over the weekend on an SD Tv.

The difference on PES 2009 is immense! In fact the SD plays slower (better) and doesn't look as jarring in terms of the animtions as the HD. What I also noticed was the lack of power on long range shots and free kicks.....go figure.

Well in PES 2008 on PS3, HD had smoother gameplay while SD had ridiculous stuttering. Also is anyone able to run PES2008/9 or 10 demo at 75hz on PC. It has always stuttered unless on 60hz no matter how beastly one's hardware is.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I don't think we can pass from 60 to 75hz in the game, I had to tame the massive frames by enabling v sync, game runs very smoothly.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

'Does PES2010 have response issues?' is the wrong question. IMO the answer is 'not really', and the correct question would be: 'Do PES players have an unfortunate habit of spending the entire match with their forefingers clamped on R1?' That answer is yes.

:APPLAUD:

It does have response issues though, although not massive. For example when trying to clear the ball from the area it can be frustrating when you are hammering the button and the player take his time to clear the ball out. I don't care if it's a miss-cue or what as long as he hits the ball when I press the button. The passing can also be a little delayed at times, in some situations, whether that's because the animation hasn't finished yet or what, the player should again hit the ball when I press the button.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Actually PES 2010 does have horrendous response issues. It was the first thing I noticed straight from the kick off.

Also when players are running, their responses should be quicker, and vice versa when a player is strolling with the ball. What should change is the control, i.e a cross played in whilst a player running isn't going to have the same precision as a Beckham freekick.

A bugbear of mine from PES is that when you're running with the ball close to the byline, if your angle of run is taking the ball out of play, the player will just watch the ball cross the line. In real life, when a player is on the run, his reactions are obviously a lot quicker and, more often than not, you will see the player stretch out a leg or slide in or even rush a pass/cross.

Football is all about possession of the ball and to give it away so cheaply time and time again starts to grate.
