Did alot of thinking and wonder if I shouldn't cancel my FIFA 10 pre order and get the World cup game at a later stage instead.
I mean it is over R600 (£50),
For a game I could be playing for less than a month.
It doesn't offer much in terms of a 1 player experience.(4 season BAP and IMO a MM mode that doesn't tickle my fancy like ML),
Plus thank to Dr Phil I dont have online gaming

I originally intended to get the WC edition instead but got caught up in the hype and decided I couldnt wait to get FIFA 10 but after reading impressions from everyone including CD I don't think I should go ahead with the preorder.

I could get the game and take a £10 knock and sell it once PES launches.
What do you lot think?

I generally prefer the special edition games (Champions League, Euro2008) to the standard Fifas so this had crossed my mind. And the fact that I really can't afford to be buying games at the moment.

You should still get a very good trade in price for Fifa 10 any time before Christmas so maybe it's worth buying it and seeing if you get a couple of months play out of it. You may be surprised and want to keep it.

Personally zee i would wait for pes10,and save your money for another game like assasins creed 2 if thats your thing or any other game that you like.Tbh if pes10 plays like the info we have been getting then i couldnt really see myself wanting to get another football game.Also if the 360 control is as good as fifa's then i will be over the moon.

I justo hope that the bug of AI making faults of is own is really out.

Plus, i got some things that would make PES, really fun to me again ( some of them are already there )

1 - slow the pace of game ( i think its done, at least is what the videos show)

2 - no 90º turns , thats for me one of the most annoying features of 2009

3 - the tricks in d-pad, should be removed, i hate turning around and the player making a stupid trick movement

4 - Fix the damn AI, its awfull ( despite playing massively against humans )

5 - remove that fu** animations of messi crossing a side by side ball with his tip toe, and that shots like the henry one, and make colisions better, and running animations

6 - please fix the passing system, its really annoying, its so so scripted. Why do i have to fail a pass thats 100% because its time for the script make me fail???

7 - The keepers, in 2009 most of the goals are scored after a deflection of the keeper to the penalty area. You just have to shoot and 70% of the times the ball goes to the striker and its goal. Fix it

It's a no brainer: Cancel your FIFA10 preorder. There are way too many good games coming out this year... I'm a PC gamer so you won't find in this list epic titles like Heavy Rain and Uncharted 2 (PS3 exclusives)....

(sigh) unfortunately it seems that the response times won't be fixed... but if you can't pass unless a playe controls the ball, then I don't really mind it. It's just due to a lack of animations in PES2010....

Regarding response times. I think it would be a killer if the response times affected the dribbling, which is one of the strong points of the game. As long as I can still quickly twist and turn when in possession of the ball then I can handle the passing being a bit more laggy after playing so much Fifa.

It does say response times when passing, so I hope it doesn't include when in possession of the ball as well.

I think this response time delay is due to konami's attempt in making the game more sim like. In other words, I don't think response times are an issue at all, it's just that players are pressing the pass button and expecting they're command to react like past PES games with pin ball effect and 100 percent accuracy. I think that once mastered, the response times won't be an issue at all. This might require a little patience though, and learning how to position your player for a quick more responsive pass as it is in real life.

I mean seriously, in real life you have inertia and other little factors that can delay a pass. A player sometimes has to stop the ball, turn, point with accuracy and then pass. Other times a player who is waiting for a pass standing(if pass is played directly to his feet) will pass the ball with pin-point accuracy and responsiveness with no delay.

This ofcourse is my attempt at explaining this "response time issues" and excusing konami of any wrong doing if any.

Next week some sites will get the review build. Will this one be 90% finish build (3rd code) mentioned above, or a newer one (4th code)?

It doesnt mind. At 90% the gameplay its been frozen for sure. Some freezings that may be open would be artwork, or translations, but not gameplay.

I totally agree with that. Brilliant explanation jflores. This is how I would imagine it would work also. It falls inline to an extent on what they looked to achieve in PES 2009 in my opinion. I certainly welcome this.

Hopefully there will be great variety between the players that can control and pass a ball quickly and those that can't.

Agree. Further, it can possibly be seen as extending Konami's strength re the individualization of players. Something the other game is severely lacking.

Yes that is an old report - from a couple of weeks ago - dont know if the build percentage is correct as I try to stay clear of that.

I do think it is in there for realism. If Konami didnt get the response times right it is because they implemented some new tech which they havent ironed out and will probably not be fixed until future games. We havent seen or heard anything about new physics engine etc so I would definitely go with the jflores explanation.

My hope is that ML is more challenging and your team's AI in BAL is better. If online is sorted my videogame list will be very short despite some awesome games dropping over the next 6 months.

This is a big one for me. Online is where it is at and Konami have been about 10 years behind in functionality and features so i am just praying they have finally nailed a lagless experience

To be fair Han, even if they tested online(with the final code) and it turned out fine, it wouldn't mean that the game would be 100% lag free, as we can only prove that once plenty of people have the game and start barraging the servers.

However, since they changed servers for this edition, I would expect the online to be a pleasant experience as compared to the two previous editions.

Wouldn't it be nice if KONAMI released a beta for us to test online?

Long time no postie, just reading.

I'm with you all, and I won't repeat the general opinions regarding FIFA's demo and PES. Actually, since I own both 2009 games, I think I played the FIFA09 demo much more than I will ever play FIFA10's one. So much for that.

Regarding the response times, I wouldn't count on them being fixed, nor would I take them as something that will break the game. It is just something that takes time to get used to.

I'll give you the following example to illustrate my expectations and interpretation of it all - for all you nostalgic connaisseurs like me:

The slow response times in comparison to PES2009 should be the same as going back to PES3 (or maybe 5) after playing PES6.

PES3 had somewhat awkward response times at first, especially for dribbling around players. Nonetheless, a couple of hours after getting used to the timing, everything fell in place.

I wouldn't create false expectations of it being up to 2009's level, nor would I create false expectations of it damaging the game in any way.

I may be the only person who picked up on this, but what do you mean? The picture you linked to, is it PC? PS3? XBox? And the games on your beta are worse than that, is that it?

I hadn't seen that picture yet, and it is amazing.

Is there news tomorow than, over at wenb adam says early next week an every time i have heard him say that its been monday i think, dont think he would get it tuesday cuz seems wierd for konami to do somin tuesday and wednesday is classed mid week isnt it. I hope its tomorow cant wait anymore, has been like 3 weeks of not hearing anything at all.

I hadn't seen that picture yet, and it is amazing.

I have just looked at that photo, unbelievable.

The detail on the inside of Ballacks right arm is incredible. You can see his pulsating veins on the inside of his forearm. Thats a phenomenal shot.

Can anyone find me a decent link giving a tutorial to put option files on the PS3. I have never done it before and do not have a clue..............any help appreciated fella's, it will be the first time I have played a footy game on this console so would like to take advantage of the PS3's ability to transfer files that the 360 struggles to do.
