Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

why are people excited about the review? They already gave PES the edge over FIFA right?

(by making them draw in licenses and menus)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I spent another 4 hours on PES 2009 online last and some unbelievable games again. I was riding a 5 game winning streak with Atheletic Madrid and Valencia. Simao, Maxi Rodriguez, Luis Garcia, and Maniche were playing some sublime football at times, and Forlan and Aguerro were a constant menace. I would go as far as to say the first two games were the best two games I have ever had on any PES game.

The thing I love more than anything about 2009 is the decision making with regards play. For the most part you have to keep it simple with the standard pass button. Mixing up the 1,2's and lofted and decked through balls is a skill in itself.

I then played a guy who was flicking through random teams, so I thought I'd go for Turkey. They are usually quite technical for a lesser team but last night quite a few of my starting 11 were on blue arrows or the dreaded purple. The guy I was playing chose Ivory Coast.

He battered me 5-2. He played some nice football, but the free flowing passing of the Spanish teams were gone, and the Turkish players just didnt perform. I was beaten by power and strength, some nice football, and the fact the Turks were not playing to the best of their usual ability.

I couldnt believe how physically strong Ivory Coast were. The Turks have quite a small side, albeit with usually decent technique, but I got battered from pillar to post. Ivory Coast's players were as strong as an Ox and I simply couldnt live with their power and strength. They were frightening at times. Those guys were fucking beasts.

It was a good game though, but so far removed from the Milan v Valencia games I'd just played.

I honestly cannot understand why people dismissed 2009 so badly. I love the PES titles. I absolutely hated PES 2008 though, it was just horrible, arcade like crap. 2009, even with all its flaws and silly animations at times really made a huge change in direction with regards how you need to play it. It was a massive, massive change, and something I noticed straight from the demo for which I was hopelessly addicted. I have never had to reinvent myself on how I have to play PES like I did with 2009. Not since PES 5. I hate the fact all your beautifully, thought out, patient football can be destroyed by speedy players who can just round the keeper and score, but the fundemantals with,
regards how precise you have to be about everything, seems so have been lost by alot of people because they focus too much on the niggles and not on what Konami tried to do last year.

PES 2009 is SO SO far removed in footballing terms from 2008 its unreal. I will never be swayed by the people that think just because players can exploit the fast players in 2009 that it then makes it an arcade game. If you want to play football, and you have a footballing brain, then you really can play the best football on any PES. You also will have earned it, which is more important to me than anything. I remember reading a preview for PES 2009 and they likened it to PES 5. I couldnt agree more from the footballing sense.

If PES 2010 keeps what it has with 2009 in the area's I personally feel accurately represent the game, and add to it,and remove the flaws. Then I couldnt be happier personally. I will wait for the demo, but from what I have seen on the recent video's, the passing is still the same. It's still unforgiving, and you only get what you deserve. Passing and hoping are things of the past. If the ball isnt really on, then dont play it. This works so, so well. Long gone are the days of pressing through ball and it 'just finding your player'. Or even the simple pass for that matter.

I would love to play someone from here online just so I can show what I mean and what is capable when you put your mind to it.

Top post as always jimmy, btw i know who to pm when i need some tactical tips when pes10 goes online. ;)

They have the license for the competition, meaning competition logo, music, adboards, format of the tournamnet etc. Team license is another thing. So chelsea will not be licensed....but that's the least of our concern. We'll licence ourself...it's called editing and the lads on this forum are like Leonardo and Raffaello for that...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Just because you couldn't see it in very few long videos doesn't mean they aren't there, lol. Until we play it, we will never seem them, or see them all.

Adam is supposed to be able to record footage from the build coming in september, maybe we can show us some.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Geeez - the cynics just come crawling out - I dont know if they are 300 but we have seen new turning, passing, trapping, shooting and heading animations - many of them seem subtle so the game doesnt look totally different.

When the vidoes came out people pointed them out, now SB throws out a number - detractors to the ready!!!

All of you must have some fine looking girls who are dumb as hell and no fun in the sack.

Can I ask one question - if the game plays great and offers much enjoyment but the animations are off - will you guys just toss it to play something else?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

300? he gotta be kidding. maybe he just simply choose a range of number to make it sounds as an improvement from the animation that they have now ( that obviously some of it were from PES 5 and 6 ). try so hard to believe in it, but...neh...

Mate i hope so.....really:))Pes need new animations as human water in this situation:))

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

300 animations in nowaday's next-gen titles is no much, to be honest. Don't think in "running" as a single animation, there must be lots of them, same for shooting, heading, falling, pushing, think about the keepers, trapping the ball (count up to 50 animations here as minimum) all the instances of players celebrating, getting fustrated, warming, walking, standing, etc...

To put it in perspective, nba 2k10 is adding 9.000 animations alone this year. Fifa is adding hundreds of animations (I heard someone talking about almost 500 new animations in the game) to the enormous catalogue that is already in the game, etc... For example, Uncharted had more than 300 animations for Nathan Drake alone.

The thing is, doing mo-cap animation in present times is very cheap for those big companies (EA has its own mocapping studio, so whenever they feel like they just mo-cap there). They can literally record thousands of animations quickly. The real meat of the question is having a good and competent animation engine that blends them with perfection and having the right logic that triggers the right animation for the right context.

All of you that have played Nbka2k9 can share what a good animation engine allows you to do. After one year of playing the game, there are still animations that I had never seen. In Fifa it happens the same (even though not so often) and recently I've seen animations I'd swear I had never seen.

That said, 300 new animations is a little short for the current timmes, really. Specially compared to other top sport titles by EA and 2K. Of course, the most important thing to know is if they are well implemented and the engine blends them well and show them when it's the right time (no messi crossing with the little toe of the feet, for example, no players falling on the arse when being tackled from the front). I'd prefer 300 well implemented animations than 2.000 baywatch animations. So, if there are 300, let's hope AT LEAST 20 of them are for running styles.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Some guy wrote on WENB.

this months psm3 says "Konami have the official Champions League licence, with all the correct teams, branding and inspirational music..." does this mean that konami have found a clause in fifa's premier league license that allows arsenal and chelsea to be licensed.

Guys what do You think?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Surely Konami can get UEFA to help them out and come up with a way to get all the CL and EL teams licensed or is that wishful thinking on my part...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

If the pes6 movements of the players are almost real because in PES2010 should not be more realistic yet?? since it is a next-gen game should be much higher than their predecessors, do not see that far in the videos, images, only the trailer that shows the messi, as I can not play the trailer, do not believe in the words of seabass, from the konami pes2008 promises things and does not meet, no more lies and cheating the players, show these new movements 300, 295 should be movements goal celebration ...

Factually that statement should be correct. However it's how people read it that makes it seem to be that all the teams are correct(ly licensed). When actually all that it says is that the unlicensed and licensed teams are correct. So for example had Everton qualified for this years CL instead of Arsenal, mersey blue would be in instead of london red. Doesn't mean that all the CL teams are licensed.

So don't get your hopes up based on that statement.
