PES2010 discussion thread

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I had a modded Xbox but it fucked up bud. The motherboard went and I was never sure whether it was the chip that caused it or not. All my previous consoles have been modded. This Xbox 360 isnt, but I wasnt sure whether or not there was online issues with Modded Xbox's ?

Also, to be honest Gomito, I only really ever play a couple of games. I found when I had modded consoles in the past I'd 'aquire' every game out and just never played them. Apart from UFC Undisputed, I only play PES. I have the likes of Fight Night, Tiger Woods, R6 Vegas 2, Fifa 09 etc, but very rarely play them.

I'm just a PES nut/fanboy.

I paid for a Datel Cable, memory card etc, so my current Xbox 360 PES 2009 is patched with all the kits, teams, badges, etc via the patched option file. I just dont have an option to add chants with that and I'm pretty skeptical about getting it chipped again as I play so few game if you know what I mean. It's easier for me to buy the games.

It was also a huge ball-ache patching the Xbox option file, and when my Xbox 360 was chipped I could never seem to burn off a dual layer DVD ?? I'm pretty useless when it comes to anything slightly technical. God only knows how I managed to patch all those PS2 PES/WE games.

If you fancy a game online though on PES 2009 on Xbox 360 Gomito gimme a shout, same goes for anyone else on here.

would love too but im in the states and im assuming your in the UK and due to konami's idiotic online system, we cant play each other.. not as far as i can tell, and besides the lag is unbearable online unless the person is in the same city, maybe we could try...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

In all fairness, from everything we've heard, read and seen, I believe that the Gamescom version was NO WAY 80%.... but that's just me.

Not just you, my point exactly.

Sorry if I overreacted in my answers, but some of you do like to get into people's nerves (and mine get set on fire easily lol). lol

Well, whatever percentage complete the build at Gamescom was, the fact of the matter is that for the last 3 years the differences between the game demoed at Gamescom and the finished product have been minimal.

That's the source of the cynicism among many of us. Why, after the last few years of hype (from the usual suspects) and disappointment should we believe that what we play in October will be significantly different.

The lag seems to be very hit and miss to be honest. Like I say, I'm only new to online PES, but I do have a 20 meg fibre optic connection so my end is very stable. It's usually my opponents connection that is shit, and mine compensates it. Wish we had Fifa's servers, I have never played online with Fifa but every other EA game is faultless online, and I would expect Fifa to be no different.

I'll send you a friend request tonight after I get back from training, and maybe we can try to hook up sometime.

Point is, you are on a pro evo forum, not believing in a new installment of it before you play it, doesn't make much sense to me

If people feel their rational instincts telling them to be less believing this time, then they can do that whereever they like.

You can be a fan of football games, or even Pro Evo, without 'believing' in each release.

Exactly what I was talking about. The cynicism is a result of accumulated bad experiences. BUT: This year is different than the last 3 years. I would have been the first one to call out the "build" hoax last year or the year before. But this year, the PES productions team is MUCH bigger, and there is a clear different strategy in this game's development. This year it's different, and for solid reasonS this time, not just high hopes, or because we want it to be different.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I certainly get the impression that it is different this year.

It seems for the first time that Konami have actually taken, the demise of PES seriously...................tis only good for fans from now on:APPLAUD:

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I had a dream last night that the release date for PES got delayed. I got scared.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

ok anyone have a link mentioning how much bigger the PES Production team has become?

I'm looking forward to PES2010 and really hope Seabass and his team hit form again. But it's only a computer game and I refuse to 'believe' in it. That kind of sentiment is best left for the other place. I prefer to be realistic, and Konami's recent form speaks for itself. I'm being cautiously optimistic given the past 3 years of experience. I wont get too disappointed this way.

Hello in the night. Here I am with some thougts on PES 2010.

First of all I would like to say it was good that you brought up the fact that the GamesCom code was a bad move. I didn't think of it that much until now. It is a lot worse than the 70%build. And of course Konami should know that we don't want it like that ever again!

Second, and a very important thing for me personally in a football game is that I can feel individuality in the players I have available. Konami have been masters at this in their games before PES 2008 and PES 2009. In the two last installations, I've played the game happily for one hour before discovering that most attacking moves can be pulled of by all players. That took away a lot of the fun for me. Speed and body balance was the most important values in the last two versions I think. Maybe I'm wrong with this, but when I play FIFA 09 I can feel as strong as my opponent in almost all areas besides speed. I can play a really great game with Helsingborg against Barcelona (might be because of my general skill but still) and have most of the possession.

Where do I want to go with this? What I hope for is that PES has a better general depth than before and this will hopefully be visible with new cards for individual skills and abilities on the pitch. A better team will have many many ways in destroying a weaker team. But a weaker team will have to rely a whole lot on the few cards and skills they have available. If you are a good tactician in PES I hope this will make a difference, I like to go into games with weaker teams and try to fight my opponent with the few skills my weaker side has. As I spoke to Riot I mentioned this and his response was that he always just plays with the best teams nowadays. Fair enough for me, but for me indidviduality is a very important aspect of the game and it is here I feel FIFA still lacks something. In FIFA I can play with the best teams and almost do not feel any difference. But in PES I'm hoping for that difference so that we actually feel that the players we are controlling feel like their respectives. If PES do not have that (because PES is built on the community that changed stats), then what kind of game do we have?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Exactly. The current one may be 90% which would make 80% 'old code'.

Seriously, I'm getting sick to death of all this build talk.

Exactly: 80%, 90%, 115% whatever: the ball will stick to the foot, wheater they make it build 1000%.

Konami need to make a new engine. It's so far behind fifa now. And it hurts to notice that.

I would not be if the game still has the shoddy animations including running i would rather they delayed it totally ruins the effect for me.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Good evening everybody! The info is not of me, but of a pal, it never tells any salad.

Thats exactly what I love. Claudio see's it exactly the same as I see it. I dont agree with PES 2009 being very similar individually, no chance. I dont think he has played that enough. I'm gonna try and posts some videos at some point.

Gomito, I'm from the North of England. Darlington to be exact. Marts boys.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Yes your right Buzzy, you can, R2 and R1 combined with the left stick gives you the option to move it out of your feet in PES 2009. Not the same way as Fifa but still very effective once timed correctly. The better players have the ability to do this better.

It also helps with the static playing receiving the pass syndrome, keeps the ball moving, I use this alot to be honest. You can also, if you time it right, drag the ball with base of you foot and roll it away from players to give you the extra yard. The Spanish players seem to do this more.

I love playing with the Spanish teams in 2009. Valencia, Athletic Madrid are bar far my teams of choice. The passing and technique of the players are something else if you use them right. I beat the likes of Man Utd, Barca last night online with these teams effortlessly. The huge irony, was that Forlan seemed to score everytime I played against Man Utd last night. It was like he had a point to prove to Fergie. His heading under pressure is off the map.

 It's great to have you in the discussion Rob, you bring alot to the table.

Hi jimmy, sorry mate missed this post earlier. I bet the "win at all cost" mob loved you last night then, takin there precious ranking points of em. I reckon when pes10 kicks off one of us should start a online hall of fame & shame thread, that way we can all put the good online players in (ie doesnt wanna play top teams all the time or takes a beating like a man and doesnt disconnect). Then by the same token all the tosspots can be on a shame list. I sometimes play my mate online and we play with random teams, played ivory coast v south korea one time, what a game 4-3.A lot of people i think overlook these type of games and the fun that can be had from them.
Also while i am on about online, what about the ones who look like they want to select a lower team, then when you have commited yourself they choose barca :CURSE: :D

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Lower teams ftw :D Have had some great games on PES with lesser teams, I went through a phase where the only team I would use online was Iran! I got to know what each player was good/bad at and played to their strengths, I remember beating Brazil and France a few times :D.
