Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

myself and my good friend pategato will be making a ps3 option file,im picking up my ps3 slim on friday

Brilliant Gerd, but I doubt you will be making a Boro team will you ?

And did you ever see the Von Option File for the PS3 PES 2009 ? That was an awesome piece of work and the main reason I'm gonna buy a PS3 just for PES 2010. I need the chants back, I so missed them on the Xbox 360.

mod your xbox mate, i did that and my patched PES 2009 is un real

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Off Topic: When will the PSM3 be available with the PES 2010 preview? Is it possible to buy the mag online as PDF or something?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

mod your xbox mate, i did that and my patched PES 2009 is un real

I had a modded Xbox but it fucked up bud. The motherboard went and I was never sure whether it was the chip that caused it or not. All my previous consoles have been modded. This Xbox 360 isnt, but I wasnt sure whether or not there was online issues with Modded Xbox's ?

Also, to be honest Gomito, I only really ever play a couple of games. I found when I had modded consoles in the past I'd 'aquire' every game out and just never played them. Apart from UFC Undisputed, I only play PES. I have the likes of Fight Night, Tiger Woods, R6 Vegas 2, Fifa 09 etc, but very rarely play them.

I'm just a PES nut/fanboy.

I paid for a Datel Cable, memory card etc, so my current Xbox 360 PES 2009 is patched with all the kits, teams, badges, etc via the patched option file. I just dont have an option to add chants with that and I'm pretty skeptical about getting it chipped again as I play so few game if you know what I mean. It's easier for me to buy the games.

It was also a huge ball-ache patching the Xbox option file, and when my Xbox 360 was chipped I could never seem to burn off a dual layer DVD ?? I'm pretty useless when it comes to anything slightly technical. God only knows how I managed to patch all those PS2 PES/WE games.

If you fancy a game online though on PES 2009 on Xbox 360 Gomito gimme a shout, same goes for anyone else on here.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Why do you disagree with it?

You can try them out and look for yourself...

Passing - You can play a long low pass with ANY player and it will go straight onto the boot of the recipient, not an inch either way. Through balls are always perfectly weighted into the path of the recipient etc. no matter who strikes it. In PES5 this wouldn't happen.
I was also talking from experience about the online games with lower teams, so I don't see how you can say it isn't the case when I have seen teams like Wycombe play perfect one-touch football against me... Again, on the rare occasion someone on PES5 online picked a lesser team, none of this ridiculous football was seen.

I agree that the passing ability in PES is more individual but when it comes to playing like that on Semi or Manual on FIFA you can't.

Dribbling - attempt trying to dribble past a player with a fairly slow player like Del Piero without using loads of fancy tricks, just well timed changes in direction... It won't work, the defender will just react instantly and take the ball from you almost every time. Of course you can blitz past defenders with anyone who is strong and quick like Ronaldo, but the technically gifted players who aren't strong/quick are useless. On PES5 Del Piero/Zidane were pretty much main men on the team.
Nobody online against me/my club has managed to dribble past defenders with changes of direction either, so it isn't that i'm crap.

If you still think the same way then fair enough, but whenever I play FIFA those things seem pretty obvious...[/QUOTE

Well this isn't actually down to the small player Del Piero for example but more how crap FIFA's tackling system is compared to PES5's which is the best system for a football game. Del Piero in FIFA has agility allowing him to twist and turn (L2 is the magic button for players like that) but the tackling system is crap not how individualistic Del Piero is.
]

I completely disagree with both points. Dribbling in PES5 did make the players feel unique and like their real-life counterparts. Yes, the response time of skilled players was increased, but that's realistic and is evidence of how the player stats made a genuine difference in PES. It's not just shooting and passing. Players like Deco and Ronaldinho were a joy to play as because of their tricky dribbling ability.

If all players have the same response times then we go down the Fifa route of lack of individuality. I'm happy with some scripting and assists if it makes the players feel unique and true to life. Which is everything I want from a football game.

But in FIFA thats the same situation for me, Response times to go higher for certain players (Messi for example being the biggest leap) and thats the only thing which you can point out? The other end is the problem I think which is the defending being much better in PES.

Loving the podcast....loving how Suff goes "UHM uhm uhm" all the time as Adamboy states all the possible "excuse cliche'" of the gaming industry.

And BTW all this "10, 27, 63,80% build" is a non sense. Point being they have to go the the most important european convention of the gaming industry with the best stable bug free demo they can possibly have. If that's what they come up with it means they could not come up with something better for the public.

You wrote a lot of bulshit. The new video looks far better than gamescom. All the time you have problem with Pes Mr Fifa fanboy.Ok i don't like videos in gamescom too but the latest is nice.

OPM PREVIEW PES2010

Official PlayStation Magazine hit the stands today, and keeping up with the majority of impressions coming from magazines and websites, its an extremely positive assessment of how PES 2010 is shaping up right now.

All this is very reassuring, and bodes well for the run-in to launch. There’s loads more details regarding PES 2010 coming in the weeks ahead so stay tuned!

http://winningelevenblog.com/blog/opm-preview-pes-2010-positively/

and SteveM ask in WENB:

I need to step in here...

There will be no need to delay the game, as there is a period where all content has to be nailed down so it can be submitted to Sony for approval.

This is where the game is vigorously bug tested, and Sony and Konami work closely to remove all the problems. By the time it is submitted, all the content is in. All the graphics engine elements will be working, and everyhing will work in conjunction with everything else. After submission, any other problems found by Sony will also be taken care of.

What you have to bear in mind, is that this submission will be quite soon. Which means that Konami has had since the 75% build to refine, improve, and hone. Forget whatever problems you have heard about the gamescom version. It had to be submitted early, so was very old. This is not Seabass or anyone's fault, it is how the show likes to work.

There seems to be needless panic on here, and for no reason. Consider this: we are still honing now. We have a much bigger team working on every part of PES 2010. After working so closely with the PES fan base, do you not think that the team are monitoring such worries?

Don't worry needlessly. At least wait until the next gold build comes out, rather than getting concerned over the truncated GC build or Adam's concerns about code which is already six weeks old...

I believe him. I just think the "what you see is what you get" theory is just remnants of previous bad experiences over past years. Things are obviously different this year, and it doesn't make anyone a "big person" if he denies that.

Aah man why you killing the love in the thread?

Stop standing on your soap box and shouting about it now. If you're not going to buy then so be it but your "the gamescom build is the final build rant is getting monotonous. I'm not saying you're wrong I'm just saying you are being repetitive.

Fully agree with you.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I know I usually comdemn the "old build" excuses because in the past we have been told them and they have been false (i.e. full game is just as bad), but there is a clear difference in the game between the Gamescom videos and the latest video this time.

It's poor from Konami to send such a poor representation of their game to a big event like Gamescom, but that's what they are like with that sort of thing...

Indeed. I don't believe the excuse from Konami that Gamescom ordered them one month before the start of Gamescom to send the demo.
They said that was the reason for the old build.
If that is the case, then all demo's of other games on the Gamescom were a month old too.
Something I cannot believe...

I've just bought the magazine, and what a waste of £5.99 that was. Dont bother buying it, it's pathetic.

It has one pityful page on both PES 2010 and Fifa 2010. Yet is has a feature that has PES 2009 v Fifa 2009 ?

WTF ?? Are you kidding me ?

And this feature is actually after the respective 2010 previews ??? I hope I've bought the right one. September edition OPM ?

It tells us nothing we dont already know, it isnt the build with the added animations as it states beating a player felt cumbersome but Konami have informed us that new animations will be in ? The game plays alot slower and Torres looks unreal ? Thats basically it.

In the Fifa 10 mini-preview they say the set piece editor is great. The niggles from last year have gone. They say that the 360 degrees is awesome but the game falls down in the final 3rd of the pitch. The shooting still isnt very good and the invisible wall around the goalkeeper is still there ??

They say that Fifa looks to extend its lead as the premier football title then in the same breath they say PES is their game of choice at lunchtimes ??? WTF ??

Pathetic previews for both games. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY CHAPS. I have read more about both games in one small post on here. I dont have the hardware to scan at work but to be honest there is nothing worth scanning anyway for either game.

And why the fuck is the PES 2009 vs FIFA 2009 feature longer than the 2010 previews ??

Bullshit.

Oh but you get disc with 6 demos. I dont even own a PS3 yet FFS !!!

Encouraged by SteveM's response about the code and stuff.

I was happy with what I saw on the last video but it sounds like they are still busy tweaking and adding stuff, so i am sure we will see an improvement on the latest code we have seen.

I am eating a whole ton of humble pie because i was one of those that stated the early build was the game, but in this instance (for the first time in PES'S case) I seem to have been proved wrong........................thank God;)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Why would you have to submit that early if at all for a show...

To gather feedback, know what fans liked, disliked, and further improve the game. Contrary to popular belief, it's not just a marketing stunt.

To tell you the truth, a few weeks of misery and internet speculation is well worth a whole year of a refined game that most people and reviewers would love.

All demos were 1-month old. However, with PES it's a special case due to the big difference/staff and leap the game is doing from PES2009. Unlike FIFA10 which is basically refining a few niggles about 09 and adding a few features. Kinda like PES 4-5-6

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Other post of SteveM:

SteveM said:
The version at GC only had four teams, one stand, and limited options. Adam's has all teams, stadia, options and modes, but without the Champions League integrated. In terms of gameplay, Adam's build is a little rougher around the edges and has various pluses and minuses over the GC code.

New code is always exciting. In the past I have seen builds which have shared me witless as so much was wrong, then seen them ramp up with loads of improvements. Last year's was fairly solid all the way, but PES 2010 has got stronger and stronger every time I have seen it.

Hope that helps,

Steve

Gamescom requires that for legal and licensing issues. They would like to make sure that all games shown in the convention are not violating licenses and agreements, which could get them sued. That's what both Seabass and SteveM previously said.
