I haven't bought a games magazine for years. I find games journalism, especially in print, is of a very poor standard. And after the IGN-gate scandal surrounding PES2008 I've lost any trust in games journalists.

The interweb is where it's at. :YES:

Totally. I demand a refund. It's like they thought, 'Oh we need to add something about PES 2010 and FIFA 2010, lets add these few lines of nonsense to fill out the magazine'. 'Oh, and whilst we are on, why not add a special feature about last years respective games, 11 months after their initial release ? '

Find the editor's email, write him a strong worded email about how misleading the "PES2010 and FIFA10 feature" was on the cover page, and that the article barely had anything new. Demand a refund or else you'll spread the word about this worthless magazine and will destrpy whatever reputation he has left. Google for "complaint emails" to help construct your email.

I don't understand some people on this boards, really, especially the couple of guys, that were old PES fans who turn into drama queens FIFA fanboys. Konami itself said that the sign that said "80%" at Gamescom was a lie, and they even laughed about that. They referred that too in the podcast and said it pissed them off, which leads me to think that some just hear what they want, no matter what side they defend.

It's really hard to me to see these constant "now I love, now I hate, now I love, now I hate, now I hate, now I hate, OMG I love" comments, when to my eyes there's no apparent reason to this kind of panic. Ok maybe Konami incompetence to show their game potential, but I'm kind used to this lol...

Thanks for heads up bud, to be fair, it would cost me more in time writing the email. The front cover is The Dark Knight (how ironic), it barely mentions PES 2010/FIFA 2010. I think the previews represent the lack of hype on the front cover. Still shit though all round. I bought my son a PS3 so I will just give the magazine to him, instead of this weeks pocket money. :LOL:

It isn't directly mentioned but the question itself is related to that. And the fact that the code at Gamescom was running from barebones a.k.a PC's and not consoles like they made us though they were, unlike recent code (like Riot and Adam have) that runs on PS3. And the FACT that the latest video is much better that the code from Gamescom. I'm not going to spend more time than this explaining facts lol.

You said that konami said that 80 % was a 'lie' - which they did not.

I'm not particularly interested in your theories as to why the code might be old, since I'm already pretty sure it is old based on my own judgement.

You already said yourself..."it isn't directly mentioned.."

So there is no such a proof of konami saying the 80% was a lie.

Stop talking rubbish, then. Nothing has been officially said by Konami that it wasn't an 80% code. NEWB are just speculating that it wasn't 80% based on newer videos looking better and the code they are playing. Konami said it was old code at Gamescom, but that doesn't mean it wasn't 80%, nor should this kind of ineptitude be laughed off.

It's not a theory, I linked it, Seabass said the code at Gamescom was 1 month old and he actually laughs at the differences because current one is so much better.

Pesgaming were told their playtest was 70%, WENB were told it was about 70%, PESFan said it was much more older than the one they have, PES-BG said the same, and Konami confirmed it, and that's the code that pretty much every press has right now. God, i'm either being too dumb or to clever here lol. Again, there's no reason for this kind of bullshit doubts and that frustrates a bit, really. If it were Fifa no one would be doubting, and the arguments for the doubts here are simple off.

That's not because of player stats though, it's how you aim the analog stick... You said passing with bigger teams felt different which isn't true.

Maybe it is the defending, but that still means Del Piero can't be how the game has tried to create him (a technically gifted tricky player) because if you try that, it fails... so you are forced to play in a way which you shouldn't do with him (just offload the ball as soon as you can), so he isn't really individual in FIFA.

In PES the better players would keep the ball closer to them, it probably wasn't that they were just more responsive, just had the ball at their feet more often so you could time your turns better.

Even if players do dribble differently on FIFA, it doesn't matter anyway because you cant use, it probably is the defending...

In all fairness, from everything we've heard, read and seen, I believe that the Gamescom version was NO WAY 80%.... but that's just me.
