Two gifs from last video

I've never seen this animation before

Finally great looking running animation (Germany player near the centre of penalty area)

In the first gif are you refering to the player sidesteping from the defender?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I just wanted to say that I really don't want PES to follow the role model of Fifa. Dunno about footplanting (and what it would cause really), but if they ever copy the way that shots, crosses and drible sessions 1vs1 are like on Fifa, PES never more. I disagree maybe it woud help pes2010 if they implemented more free style dribbling animations like in fifa especially in 1on 1 situations and what's up with that lame elastico animation where the ball goes into the air when the move is executed that is so unrealistic they should really look at the model in fifa 08 / 09 and correct that shit we r now into next gen technology time to move away from old school mentality

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I question id like to throw:
What do you think is the best ranking system for online?

My opinion: A point based system, where the difference between teams quality affects the score the winner gets.
So every team has a stars level (1-5 stars), based in statistics of last weeks matches, instead of harcoded level by Konami.

So if i play with a 1star team against a 5star team, it can be rewarded by giving me more points per win than my rival.

What do you think?

All for it. It should be a basic necessity IMO. If PES2010 is like PES2009 we are going to have many Real Madrid vs Fc Barcelona matches.

@skillaz I also felt it was a good thing to get feedback but have you read some of them for konami and EA?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Ok, things get easier when compared....

EA in 2007 threw away their old animation engine, and started a brand new one, with foot planting, and where the game's engine generates an animation based on calculations such as the center of gravity, foot placement, joint range, ball location and desired move. This made the game virtually capable of generating almost any animation. In its current form (FIFA10), the result is spectacular. I must disagree with u here on certain points made here not all of fifa's animations r great for e.g. their sliding tackle animations r a bit off when compared to pes on the other hand their dribbling animations r way ahead of pes especially the elastico or commonly known as the spanner. What is amusing to me is the time frame between the two developers EA and Konami had to develop their titles for the next gen consoles EA having a shorter time frame than Konami and EA to build from scratch for the ps3 and coming out on top with Fifa 08 / 09

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Yes, i've never seen that animation before

Yes thats a new one, but the animation of the defender he its was awfull, the guy just stands still when the other guys beats him from behind, not even a slight move on is sholder. It felt like it was a stone the other guy had to move to pass :CONFUSE:

Hope that the most optimistic believes of people in here regarding the new animations become true, and they put a lot more effort in this chapter.

I want to see is a video with more trough balls and more shots, thats one thing im concerned about.

will manual goalkeeper (especially when cpu controlled / see pesgaming preview) mean we will finally see the keeper coming up for a late corner kick, like powerplay? i would love this little gameplay feature.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Nice one zee thanx for the link.

But the big three sites which in my opinion are us guys at PESGaming, WENB and PESFan

Oi! us evowebbers dont get a shout then. :PIRATE:

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

That's because Evo-Web don't have official representation (get no builds, etc), but that's cool, is the only one where you have free speech about just everything :)

Oh yeah. Free speech, scans, videos, honest opinions without fear of being outcast by KONAMI from the next playtest... everything that counts.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Two gifs from last video...
*two gifs*
Perfect example why the animations are fundamentally flawed (I've edited the gifs to clearly show you what I mean)

a47sc6.gif

Now, who the hell rotates on the spot like this in real-life? And to think that ball is still in play when this happens. One of the nice things about Fifa is how you're able to charge at a defender and beat him at his footing or orientation if you pay attention to the angle at which his body is facing you. The players don't rotate on the spot and they need to take proper planted steps to face you, something that's been inherently absent in the PES' archaic core animation engine.

wgxhfb.gif

Look at how the player cuts/skips a simple running animation just to make a splitsecond stop. This of course isn't the only problem: the player rotates on the spot as he plants each step. ALL players in PES do this.

When you don't have a fundamental system to tie in all your animations together, the end result is that players CHEAT their movements. Simple as that...

Great post and nice finds. A perfect example of how PES is still using an old gen animations system.... But then again, like the old face molds, it's a lot easier (but not impressive).

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Pesgaming playtest impressions are up at www.pesgaming.com

I just read but the preview or review by Francis and Dougie. I even got see the screenshots which i haven't seen previous. I must say if the game played that well on 70% build, then we should be expecting a very good pes2010 this year. I am so impressed already by the revamped ML looks and other online cup features that will be available.

Boy, I can't wait for real for this game to come us. I am hoping that new animations or extra features that would be added to the game for the final product won't in anyway jeopardize the responsiveness or game speed.

As far 360 movement is concerned, you actually have to play the game to know how good this feature will be.

Too many moaners on this board, Konami can't fix everything in one year. It doesn't make business sense at all on their part to do that.As long as they leave we the fans with a very good football simulation gameplay and with a perception that there is room for improvement.

We need to chill out with all this moaning.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

In the second gif you post, theres another player moving without moving is legs and then skips a eter and starts running, its the player below the one you highlited, the one entering the area to.

This should´ve be way to better nowadays, and i think it would only greater the gameplay and feeling

But according to your point of view it makes sense of business, to broke the last two and make lousy games (08 & 09), so then they could fix it little by little....

I think they´ve improved in a great way regarding PES09 for what i´ve seen, but they could do much more in certain aspect. BTW hope they´l do it and we see it in the demo.

Yeah i did that's why i'm stressing on the point that fan feedback is important but the developers have to take the feedback seriously and actually implement these new ideas or improvements this is what ea did and is still doing and that is why their fifa titles will always improve BECAUSE THEY LISTEN TO THEIR FAN COMMUNITY

I'm confused here u r telling me that after reading the reviews that the game is about 70% completed and is expecting more features to be added before this title is released in Nov that's hogwash what u saw or read at gamescon is what u get u feel programming or development of games takes a couple of months no it takes years and believe me don't expect any more features added to the game what u see is what u get

That's pure BS mate, it's an work in progress, they don't do the stuff and compile it to a new build right away, you won't see everything they added on Japan now, because it simple doesn't work like that. Building a build for a press preview takes time, and it's prepared concerning the press release norms. They make sure everything is ok with that build, regarding the licenses, consistence of the code and stuff like that. That's what happened with Gamescom and thats what happens with this one (both are very different tbh).

BS talk. There is something such as builds, progress, and change over time.

At 70% FIFA10 didn't have a set pieces editor.... at 85%, it did.

At 55% PES2010 didn't have 360 movement..... at 70%, it did.

Great discovery and illustration on the vids this just proves to me that pes is still old school first gen animations ,celebrations and bottom line just cheap . The launch of pes2008 on the next gen consoles just further highlights my opinion of Konami " HOGWASH"

Its not about 1 year. People have been waiting since the next gen consoles were released

So u telling me that to expect more features in the game which is due to release in Nov 09 so what bout online features which were unavailable at gamescon and finally the ironing out and final tweaking of the game all this can be achieved within 2mnths . that's BS

I'M being misunderstood all i am trying to say was that the game is almost completed and ready for launch in Nov any new ideas or features that haven't been discussed in the reviews will not be implemented in this title probably 2011

I'm not telling you to expect more or less features. The BS part was when you said about the Gamescom version "What you saw is what you'll get". That's probably what you said at the 55% version, and the Tactics video, and the Messi video....etc. And the part about features needing years to be developed, that too was BS.

Lots of BS

I NEVER SAID THAT AFTER EACH BUILD cum on all i'm trying to say is the final version game is almost completed for launch in Nov 09 so don't expect any more from what has been diclosed in the reviews anymore new ideas or features will not be implemented in this title probably 2011
