PES2010 discussion thread

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Wow what a difference a video makes, after all the bashing from the Gamescom and other vid's, suddenly it's all positive and light... :DD

I'm still suffering from a two day stretch, so I'll wait until I've read through the rest of the posts to check if we have any other news but to add my two bits, that video did look so much better than anything else, maybe the new graphics and mo capping will push PES back up there...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

we definitely need an european game developer to make a 3rd football game to compete with fifa and pes.

and this makes me wonder, europe is the home of football but why do we get football games from japan and america?????????????? why isn't there somebody from europe create good football game?

I think we need a smaller company to bring out an almost home made game in so much as a game made by football lovers for football lovers, some kind of labour of love thing that they have been making for the last five years kind of thing.

That is bare bones but has a great and imaginative so called engine.

This could then be picked up by a major company, the chances of any large company pushing and spending on developing a football title with zero licences is nil...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I really can't imagine that there will only be two companies creating football games (non-management at least) for the rest of our lives.

If I was a betting man I would put money on there being another competitor, if not next year then the year after for sure. The money that Konami and EA are raking in unopposed will surely inspire someone else to join the party, especially this year when it looks like both games have improved enough to guarantee a lot of sales...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Most of the famous videogames companies are from Japan and USA, both have an historical dominance in this sector, which european company would be able to compete with Konami and EA ?

It would be a bit risky, there are the licensing questions (it requires money, and what about legal obstacles ?), and maybe they don't think they could make something greater than Fifa and Pes (Which innovations could this new competitor bring with its game? How to survive if EA and Konami steal their main ideas?)...

you gotta be kidding me....some of the famous european game developers :

sports interactive, the maker of CM and FM! I would love to see 1 day we have a football action games from them, in theory they could make Konami and EA bleed to death.

rockstar north

crytek

creative assembly

codemasters

ubisoft

etc

I for one would hope for Sports Interactive to give EA and Konami shock therapy. :P

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Who would it be, with the stupid exclusive licence crap, it would end up like a street soccer arcade crap thing...
Konami don't have any exclusive licenses do they? (Or if they do there's not many.)

They have the non-exclusive (i.e. shared) licenses and then a Premier League made up of Merseyside Blue and London Red etc...

We all want the gameplay more than anything else, and we'd all put up with that (we do now when we play PES), so I can definitely see it happening.

I would love that too. I doubt they ever would, but if they did...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I think should be more stadiums in PES 10. That's fucking horrible in PES 09 is only 8 stadiums. Do U understand it? 8 stadiums in "the best footbal game of the year" tsss ;) I don't wanna start talking about quality of this stadiums because it's a pitful topic.

What was in pes09? During game the bleachers was 2D..no..1D.. quality of these chairs was TERRIBLE! Only during replay everything looks great, crowd's quality and bleachers are in 3D.

It's a small thing but I need to consider something on it.

Why Konami DID IT? Because KONAMI to entertain to PC Players.. Hardware requirement must to be LOW.
The graphic in this game is not important thing because a gameplay making 70% of good game but I think in this coming next PES version if mean about GRAPHIC all should be all set.:WORSHIP:

Sorry for mistakes but I am a roached ;p

8 stadia in Pes 2009?what are you talking about?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Who would it be, with the stupid exclusive licence crap, it would end up like a street soccer arcade crap thing...

If they made it easy to edit and/or mod, and they did a really solid core gameplay engine, modders could do the rest. My long term prediction is that an open-source engine might be the key (at least for PC), with the community itself doing the work. With PES on PC the community already do a lot of the work. If the engine were easier to mod, the community could do 90% of the work. Licensing would be irrelevant in an open-source type game.

The only problem with that is they would get battered for making it able to replicate the things perfectly, it's already an issue now.
EA and for that matter Konami and the groups issuing the licences would come down like a ton of bricks on them...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Codemasters will probably have another crack, and it will be terrible once again.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Suffwan actually said once on his twitter that there was one "surprise opponent" to Fifa and PES coming. He didn't said much more.

Ok for Sports Interactive, but FM isn't what we call a "next-gen game", isn't it ? FM is not like Fifa, PES, or another simulation/arcade football games. But that is just my opinion ^^.

And by the way, maybe the companies you're talking about could make a football game, but do they have any experience in football games ? There are famous european developpers, but I think they aren't specialized in football games (I may be mistaken, correct me if so). It's as if you asked Square Enix to make an FPS game...

And they could have made it earlier if they really wanted to do so, when next-gen consoles began to rise.

But I agree with you, it would be great to have a third football game!

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I haven't seen anything really new in that video, more of the same stuff i have been playing for a decade. I guess i am in need of something different, i can already tell in advance how the ball is gonna be deflected, how the tackle is gonna end up, how the goly is gonna save etc.

Same old pes, they haven't done anything new in the past 3-4 years

Fuck off with that, just because people don't see much new stuff in the videos it doesn't mean they live in the past and need glasses.

If you think we need glasses, why don't you tell us what you see with your much better eyesight? (apart from 360 movement)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

from what i have seen so far, pes 2010 is a king on PC, but fifa10 is a king on next gen consoles.

Fuck off? Who the fuck are you? Sorry if you were expecting me to just shut it after that unpolite reaction.

I tell you what: Dozens of new animations, graphics, pace, fluidity, the feeling is there, 360, ball seems more free, and besides all that it's a work in progress.

You don't see it, then fine, piss off.

And disregarding what I and charlievolano say, saying we live in the past and need glasses isn't impolite?

You see these things:
Animations - As pointed out before, the animations are around the same level as PES5/6
Fluidity - That's what made PES so popular on PS2
Feeling - Same as above
360 movement - The only "new" thing I see
Ball being more free - That's not really possible to tell...

So the only real noticeable gameplay improvement on PES5/6 is the 360 movement... Massive overall improvement on PES09 though.

And regarding the "work in progress", what are they going to do? The full game isn't going to be much different to what we see in that video... We can't just keep saying "this is an old build, newer build will be amazing", when we get a vid of a newer build, we repeat etc...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Just caught up - watched the video - truly, it was better but not by leaps and bounds that some are making out. Then again I am not hung up by a running animation.

Game did look free:APPLAUD: and shots did seem good - what I noticed was the players were playing the game as if it was PES from the past so they werent that succesful - huge plus. Players really joined in on attack and defenders didnt go on walk about:BY:

If the gameplay is like this I'll be happy - one concern - the cards (are they all in the team setup or can you set them from edit player?)

Also great comments by Rodalero and Adelante :WORSHIP: - wish all discussion could be that way

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Ok. I just wasted 10mins of my life posting then.
It's Pro Evolution Soccer what do you want to see?

No you didnt Zee, I appreciate where you coming from, but no prizes for guessing that huh ?

It is Pro Evo, thats what it is, and for alot of people its a very enjoyable game. We dont want it changed, just improved upon to a degree of which Next Gen commands. Pathetic lazy faults ironed out, and nicer crisper visuals and animations. Combine that with a totally revamped ML and for those addicted to the PES gameplay and concept it really is looking good.

If PES 5/6, or WE9FE/WE10 etc still holds the tag for alot of people as being the football game ever, then Konami's ideals still hold true. Even if they havent reached the heights people have come to expect in this new era of Next-Gen.

P.S. Has anyone seen a screen or scan of the a players full stats listings yet ? Or the condition arrows ? Because I havent.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

agree, i see alot of new things

Yes it is true. That is the game whit most - big differences compared to previous a PES games of series . Now you must learn the game from the outset . The dribbling is so different, the pass are different , shots too . Now you can't beat defenders only whit run and fast change of direction left to the right or vice versa like is in PES 2009 ,there was easy and arcade.
The Control is very similar to that of PES 6 but again is different.
The game is good guys ;) And yes , that is not " ALL NEW GAME " it's a PES and are not " ALL NEW ANIMATIONS " but there are lot new , game is good :BOP: Yes, there are has things to fix, but there are still 2 months .
Sorry for my English

Somehow I often get a bad mood, reading your and Charlievolano's posts. You guys allways use a looking glass to find something negative, even if all others agreed how good things are.
Of course you have the right to have your own opinion, but you have no intention at all to say something constructive. You even made clear about that in your signature... very sad indeed...:BYE:

I thought you were talking about nothing new in this generation. Again, (and you like to kill me for saying this lol), you are comparing it to the past is if it was recent past, making PES10 look bad by doing that lol. I wasn't trying to be impolite disagreeing with you, I was just... disagreeing with you.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

PES2008 was konamis new engine for the next generation console. It was incomplete, scrappy and generally unpolished.

PES 2009 came along and fixed up everything.

Don't think so.

PES 2009 was absolute rubbish. Complete and utter crap.

What i'm saying is more constructive than just saying everything is fantastic...
I don't look for negative things in particular, if they stand out then I will notice them, in fact the last video hasn't got many negatives at all, it's just the lack of real positives COMPARED to PES5/6. If I was comparing PES 2010 to PES 09, then yes it does look very good...

My signature is because after PES 08 and 09 the series looked to be dead... If PES10 turns out to be a really good game then I will change it.

People disagreeing with each other is inevitable and I have no problem with that, it's just the way you were saying I live in the past and need glasses... as if I was wrong, when it was just my opinion, and opinions on things can't really be wrong - just different.

I have been comparing the videos to PES at what I think is it's peak (PES5), and it looks similar, and as I said before it could be a very fun game online and i'd consider buying it, but when you see how good games like NBA 2K9 are, I think we should be getting better games... maybe I expect too much, maybe football is too difficult to simulate?

Point is, it's a all new generation, where stuff works different and technology is more complex. You should be comparing it like everyone else is, comparing to what PES has been this generation.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

@Rob92

You often criticize PES even the video looks fine.Ok videos from Gamescom weren't good but the latest was much more better and different. Some people always have problem to write something positive about PES.The most interesting is that people play FIFA:YAWN:

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I just don't know jimmy I'ld go nuts if I were Seabass you just cant please the masses. It makes me wonder if the fan feedback thing is such a good idea. God forbid PES should lose it's character and become a FIFA clone. That will be the day that I hang up my virtual football boots.
