PES2010 discussion thread

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I still think that Iss64 is the best football I have played when it come the emotional sense of the game. I have to feel the kinda of freedom that Iss 64 provided you could even juggle the ball and do free styling that i haven't seen in football game today, it's just too bad that I no longer have my nintendo 64.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I'm not the first and won't be the last saying let's stop with Fanboynism.
We're free of choosing either one or even both games, wich seem to be pretty good this year and that's the only thing that matters to us customers.

I've got the feeling some of us over here have the same mentality as gang members or something like that. We don't belong neither to a ProEvo or FIFA Gang that doesn't permit us to look what's going on on the other side.
(Godfather "Don" Seabass :APPLAUD:)

I also always liked ProEvo for what it's been and still is for me, also if I have to admit that 2008 on PS3 was the only ProEvo title I played less than a month or two.

I always tried to get into FIFA, also 2009 but for me it never gave me the same sadisfaction, wich doesn't mean it's better or worse, it only means I prefer Burger King to McDonalds, nothing more and nothing less.

Our opinions and critics are important to improve both games and I don't wanna say we all have to be quiet and happy with what we had until now.

As I said, like Burger King but prefer Fish Mac or Chicken Mc Nuggets of the other company, there is always room to improve and I#m happy I have the choice!

I don't know whether I would have said it any better. The last FIFA game i owned and bought was in 98. Since then it has been ISS, WE and PES edition.

However, I rented fifa09 for a minute and played. I must say i was impressed by how much the game has changed and improved but i still didn't get the same satisfaction i get from a pes game.

Fifa10 with all the rant n rave looks like is going to surpass fif09 and i will definitely give it a look in again this year. With that said if pes10 fixes the following;

1. Defenders always outta position.
2. Lousy goalkeeping
3. The ease with which users can just round the goalie n score(online players do this all the time).
4. Overheard thru pass success rate.
5. Slow down the pace of the game.
6. The number of shots on goal per game(insanely high)

This game will be solid and i definitely add it to my collections.

Let it be known the day fifa gives me the same satisfaction like a pes game or surpassing it, i won't have a problem returning back to the fifa series.

For me it is about ME.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I really couldnt give a rats ass what he thinks of FIFA 10. It's not a concept I buy into mate.

Dan, I so wish that was true, but it isnt. Very few PES fans post here because of the Fifa fanboyism that decimates these boards. Evoweb should be a place where like-minded fans can discuss the game, ideally in a positive way.

It is so far removed from that philosophy its untrue. EvoWeb has a great editing section, but the Pro PES chat leaves alot to be desired.

You seem genuine though, and the only reason I've bothered replying.

As for the PS2 days being perfect ? Thats not quite true either. We moaned every year about something, and we had due cause. But the principles of what made true PES fans fall in love with Konami's concept havent changed. The fundemental core of a stat based performance product has never waivered.

I honestly dont care what people think of the game. As long as I love it, thats all the matters to me. And I think there is a pretty big chance I will.

jimmy, pro evo on the ps2 was perfect to me mate....the game never left the ps2...can't say the same for next gen pro evo : (

Three-tiered proper Master League as well.

*Sigh*

Ah yes....working your way from Division 3 to Division 1, and holding your own in the top division where all the best teams were. I really miss that. My interest in the Master League ended when it changed to the format we have now.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Yeah that 3 tier ML was one of the features that disappeared into the konami triangle as Nick named it.
Along with the training challenge, unlicinsed team commentry names, editable boots and international challenge, which is really surprising considering it's world cup year.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Glad I never played that crap.
So for you a Ferrari Testarossa is crap just because it's old?

And, in addition, how can you define it crap if you never had the pleasure to play it?

Nowadays it's outdated, the graphics feel stupid and the gameplay might seem unplayable.. But for the time it was one of the best football games ever (if not the very best)!!

..and again, it featured things that are still asked by fans EVEN NOW (like its penalty system and the separate power/height control on free kicks*)

So, you should at least try it before saying it's crap ;)

* even if I think it was absent from ISS64 and has been introduced in the 1998 version of the game (again for N64)

Konami triangle.

Many great features have gone missing in there. Interchangeable kits, training challenges, about 25 stadia along with variable attendance settings, snow, player's breath in cold weather.

Anything else?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

At least they can say the interchangeable kits had to come to an end due to the kit manufacturers getting all funny about it.

Player's breath doesn't require a license though (HAH, give it a few years and it might).

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Scenario mode R.I.P. :(
Unfortunately you're right.. The scenario mode was pure fun (especially, again, in the N64 installments).. You really felt the pressure in some occasions.

And, to be honest, I miss also the "freedom" you had with the ball in ISS64: upon receiving a ground pass just outside the opponets' box, in ISS64 you could actually lift the ball and hit it with a volley (something like what happens at 0'42" in the video I posted, even if that animation now does feel a little crappy).. It can't be done in any PES game, or at least I never managed to do it.. But it was a classy way to get past defenders when they were close enough and I miss that feature :(

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I'm playing pes since pes3.I loaded iss3 my pc yesterday.Firstly, i am shocked,because it's like atari game lol.:CONFUSE:

But i love it.Game is very enjoyable.I don't care 360 degree movement,good graphics,licence etc etc..

Game is enjoyable,it's enough.I liked everything.Rainbow flick,bullet time,pass system.

We are playing video games.Because we want to have a good time.Who cares;game is old, new, realistic, arcade, simulation.:)):))

Edit:BTW,i didn't like camera.I saw a good camera at youtube but it was iss3 ps2 version. Is pc version just have zoom and height options?
