Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

This looks very promising. I'm looking forward to it more than Fifa this year.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Do the untucked shirts appear all the time or just during replays and cutscenes?

EDIT : no, i just watched the videos again, and they dont appear in the wide camera.
very disappointing.

In that part is really clear that Benzema is not in rails like always in PES. Looks really good, but Enke looks awful at Benzema's goal (nice animation in that shot, too).

Ok. Thanks.

Damn, that is subtle though. A big feature like 360 movement should jump out at you rather than having to concentrate to find it.

You welcome Jamz.

The use of the 360° movement is very subtle on the eye indeed, it's the sort of stuff I think you'd really notice while playing (like the lads who played FIFA said it)
Nah it's not that. He's used to the newer build so it's just so frustrating for him to play the older one. :D

:APPLAUD::APPLAUD: Funniest thing I've read today

Nice question...I can't see it clearly from the vids...I guess if is going to be like PES2009,where shirts were actually untucked only from replays...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Hi!

Yes I'm afraid of GK's animations !!
Looks like they have a lack of reactions !!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr;
I'm afraidddddddddddddddddddddd !!!!!

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

That Seabass video was funny. :APPLAUD:

I'm actually warming to the game, especially after seeing that video.

It seemed a lot more polished to me.

I'm more impressed by the Seabass video, too. The pace of the game looks a bit slower and at least the guys tried to play a bit of football.

If Konami can implement a few more animations before release and fix a few things I think this will be a very decent game. It looks a lot of fun.

Hi J

I totally agree, this looks like the best pes yet, even fifa has not come close to PES5, even with its sooooper smooth animation it has not come anywhere near the fun factor (and depth) of that great PES game.

This looks like a 5 beater to me and that has to be great news for PES fans.

Expectations have risen and rightly so but do not forget those great moments PES can bring that FIFA has not got close to. FIFA looks brilliant though this year but I am not complaining.............................2 great footy games.

Kin hell you changed your tune since last weeks cards vid! ;)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I liked the Seabass video, but I thought the other one they tried to play better football.

Changes - Very smooth in comparison to PES 2009. If you have had to endure my posts you will know I have probably played 2009 as much as anyone, so I can really spot every minor detail, like the Fanboy I am.

The animations, although as I know only too well are not a patch on Fifa, different planets, are alot better and smoother than 2009. The stupid pause flaw has gone and players take it better in their stride, and move it out of their feet without the delay.

The graphics, lighting, attention to detail is staggering, PES 2009 was good, this is another level completely.

The response times dont look to be affected, but you can never tell without playing it yourself. But from what you can see, it certainly looks right. Then again the animations are not as complex as Fifa's so that certainly makes is alot easier.

Not happy that I havent seen better glimpes of 360 movement, it is subtle but 360 means exactly as it says on the tin, you would expect it to be more noticable. But playing it yourself is the only way to see. Certainly more directions though.

Have spotted the manual 360 high pass though that wasnt possible before. Passing looks nice and crisp, but then again all the teams on show have all had world class players involved, right across the park. Benzema goal nice, approached at the right angle to open up for the shot, nothing new there though.Keeper looked shocking though. Very suprising as I have no problem with PES 2009's world class level keepers, or their animations. Hopefully that was just a one-off.

The movement off the ball by the French players at times was excellent. On the offence I could clearly see a massive difference. This looked like a slider option. Plenty of options were created by the runs of the two French players off the ball. This never happened on 2009 like that, huge difference. The defending by the French at one point where they all seemed to try to get behind the ball was another massive change, those were purposeful, initiated play and something 2009 never had. Looked very much pre-ordained, and another probable slider based element.

I'm happy with what I saw, but I want to see it played by football minded players who will look to play the ball around till the opportunity arises. It seemed the players on all videos are happy to charge forward and looked sometimes to play 30/70 balls that really didnt have the highest probable percentage rate of success. If its not on, go back and start again, keep possession, it isnt rocket science. It would have been nice if the play held up a little more to see the movement off the ball of the CPU ai.

The speed seem fine to me, you could play the slower game or change through the gears when the times right. Benzema still looked too fast though. Seabass saying in the interview that Messi et al can be stopped tactically, I like. The tactics really are poor at best on 2009.

Quite happy with that, very excited, especially the new ML, Champions League nights are going to be something very special. Option filed up it will be the dogs bollocks.

yeah the cards vid was a big dissapointment but this is a different game, so i was wrong to assume that what we saw then was what it was going to be at gamescom.

its not that different, but seeing it in full flow and played properly, it looks superb. Still stiff and awkward in parts but smooth and free in others.

I'm not ashamed to say i was miles off when I saw the card vid (which was shit)

Yes i agree, like i said before those earlier gameplay vids from Gc was compressed at various fps.But when seafish is involved they are gonna make sure its correct.looking good.:))

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

total domination by Barca.
But its clear that the gameplay looks f*ckedup when its filmed like this.

Good find Junka.

This shows again a massive improvement in player positioning and fluidity compared to 2009. Still not seeing more directional movement though. Maybe its more evident when players arent sprinting, which would make logical sense.

I'm not sure if this will be a Pes5 beater, as much as I would like it to be. That was some game. It makes me laugh when some of the Fifa hardcore say that Pes5 is nothing on Fifa 09. I dug the PS2 out and played it a couple of months back and the game is still my all time favourite and it certainly stands the test of time. If Pes2010 can at least capture the feeling of that game I will be over the moon.

I've seen enough from both Fifa and Pes this year to make them day one purchases, unless the demos completely disappoint. In Pes's favour you have the Pes moments as you put it; the goal mouth scrambles, long range pile-drivers, beating your man, the variety of goals. Plus you have the all-important player individuality. Then throw in the Champions/Europa league modes, the deeper master league and the fantastic international team line-up and there are more than enough reasons to buy this game, despite it not being as technically proficient as it's rival.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I think the "80% code" could be true for these videos; I mean, look at Messi's sprinting way, that's exactly like in pes 2009. I guess at least his sprint should be fully mo-capped.

I must say people are getting better at picking music for these videos.

Before we were stuck with the mumblings of German nerds, now we've got some European dance, dance, dance, techno, techno, house, cardboard box dogshite to boogie away to.

I have read somewhere over the last couple of days that when you only dribble you have 360. Like you say it wouldnt be very realistic sprinting with 360. In one of the early vids i did notice one of the french players evade a slide tackle with a s shaped smooth flowing move,it looked really cool & controlled.

Yeah when you hear the techno you imagine its seafish in the hospitality suite with his bitches, having it large. :BOP:

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Damn, Ibra is a monster in the game, his dribbling is really impressive... the guy with Barcelona plays really well, the guy with France sucks!

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I'm glad I'm an Xbox 360 owner now.:BOP:

Just been reading elsewhere from someone at Gamescom that the 360 has the quicker response times and a better colour palate compared to the more washed-out looking versions on the PS3 and PC.

Surely not another developer struggling with the PS3?;)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

thanks for that one, they really slowed it down, animations while turning with ball are slowed down and not arcadish as it was before, also less moving on rails, it looks like football finally

now I know I'm buying it day 1

PS. That video with Seabass getting shafted at his own game was also funny :PIRATE:

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Personally I think the video in which seabass plays the game is nothing special and the game seems exactly the same as pes 2009 with some make up that can't disguise an old engine and old (and limited) control schemes.

Besides, Seabass seems a complete noob playing the game, he only passes to the wing and run, run run to cross it. He plays like sh*t and it doens't even surprise me that pes still has the most absurd flaw in the game since pes 3, that is the SB are NEVER in potision and ANY through ball to a quick winger means the winger runs and cut back.

How stupid it is to allow the game for the same mechanic again and again and again? Seabass must be very happy seeing that's what he likes to do. Run the wing again, boy! Choo-choo-choooooo! He even tries to cut back twice! How sad is that? He fulls his mouth with pureness of football, tactics, passion for the game... and bollocks! That's the example he gives to people: just pass to the fast wing and cross, and luckily one out of 3 times, the ball goes straight to your striker to score.

Not to talk about goalkeepers, they now just don't react at all. Up to now goalkeepers seem worse than ever, really. How can it be?

But the best part is the interview he did to Meristation (spanish media). I assure you can't miss it.

The jewel of the crown is that he is asked what are the best footballers in the game, the ones that are special. He starts talking about Messi (obviously, the cover of the game), but he then goes to say that you will find one of the greatest players is...

Adriano!

Yes, your read well, Adriano seems to be, according to him, the best footballer overall, and he wants to translate it to the game, he likes him very much.

So when they said it's a comeback to pes5 it was that? Having adriano again rocketing from practically anywhere? Oh , Jesus, it's so sad!

No more builds, no more excuses, AI is what it is, passing and moving around is what it is and you don't cahnge this in a month, not even two or three. If you know a little tiny bit of programming you know how things go. You can't change the keepers reactions, the sidebacks being NEVER in a smart position, the total lack of credible animations (even the good animations are used in bad contexts!)... I was quite interested when the 360 talk arose, but if that's the best they can do, then they are below average in the market right now.

To most of the fans, make some numbers. They sell MILLIONS of copies. That means A HELL OF A LOT OF MONEY every year. And what they do in return? Not even a decent running animation. There are no excuses. They should sell the game at half the price, I think.
