The fact that Eto'o is still there and Ibra isnt alongside the fact their the same teams from the 50% build does add some weight to these claims. Lets hope its true and that next week we see a different looking game. :)

No dude this video clearly had a purpose. The purpose was to explain the Cards and Teamplay options, not to show off a new animation system, a graphical overhaul, or 360 movement.

They want to clear the air from the cards being misconcieved as "attribute boosters" before Gamescom, so that people can focus on the newer additions by then (the animation overhaul, new graphics filter, and hopefully the 360 movement)

But really it's pretty evident this is the only purpose of this video.

EXACTLY. Nice catch.
It is the old build. I guess they didn't want to re-explain the Cards System at Gamescom, to give room for more important NEW stuff.

You can thank Suff for them wasting time re-explaining the Cards system. If it wasn't for him broadcasting to thousands that cards were ability givers/takers that arcadishly affected players' attributes, they wouldn't have made this video to correct that.

i just understood that people will try everything to justify those horrible
animations

how can you be so sure it's from 50% build?

I will chillax (like Adam keeps saying)only if Caniggia or others will confirm that new build animations are a lot better than that

Guys, i'm afraid we will see those awful animations even at Gamescom

Adam even suggested that these "ability cards" could be won in a BAL career as players gain experience. They seemed oblivious to the fact they were not ability/attribute boosters. Cards don't give and take the ability to perform roulettes (like Suff said).

And don't forget that almost every PES fan worldwide listens to the podcast.

Steve on WENB always monitors the discussions there and lets Konami know what next marketing step they should do. Obviously they needed to correct the Cards misconceptions asap before Gamescom.

But make no mistake this video is from the 55% build.

No that child banned me for disagreeing with him over Suff's false portrayal of the Cards system.

I say child, not because he banned me, but because he later lied about my ban on the forum, saying it happened because I sent him abusive PMs behind people's eyes, when I haven't sent him a single PM throughout the entire ordeal.

The rosters don't mean anything, they may not be put into the code until the developers consider them ready. The FIFA 10 rosters have been the FIFA 09 ones for a good old while, because the database researchers are editing them all the time. I'm not saying it is or isn't an old build, I'm just saying the roster bit means nothing.

And if (and it's a big if) that video DOES supposedly include 360 dribbling, as is being suggested on PESFan/WENB (because of the Messi movement at 5:11), then I think both builds will look very similar. I can't help but remember all the times we've said before "it's a 50% build" and so far we've been disappointed each time.

But we'll see. I don't think it is 360 degree movement in that video personally, but maybe it is - maybe someone was using a D-PAD and then with Messi decided to play with the left stick for a split second. Who knows.

By the way, I don't think Konami would make a video purely because of a throwaway comment in a fansite podcast that I'm sure nobody at Konami listens to in full anyway. No way.

The guys who make the game are in Japan, they speak Japanese, I doubt they've heard the WENB podcasts. There's two scenarios:

A) The guys in Japan - who won't have heard the podcast or be pissed off by it - have taken development time to make a video with an old build to show off their new features, or

B) The PR guys in the UK have made a video with the code they have, which seems far more reasonable to me (and which makes it more likely they've heard/been pissed off by the podcast, even though I don't believe that for a minute). But then if that's the case then it means it won't have taken "weeks" to create and it should be a newer build.

Just my two penneth.

Well the tactical stuff looks really good IMO, The cards seem to work well also. The gameplay? Not going to comment on that but rather wait for Germany. Regarding the 360 dribbling no fucking way is that 360 dribbling

Enjoyed the video for what it was, would rather they kept it back until Gamescon though, can't help but think of PES 2009 when watching it.

The lighting in the night game was sweet.

WTF! People are saying this video was done because of a WENB podcast. Like chris said this video has come from konami japan so how the fcuk would they know about it.

This is PR material and I pretty sure Konami has had a schedule for weeks now for when they are gonna release certain videos. EA and other developers are the same.

A WENB podcast does not effect what Konami Japan choose to show or not show people!!

Not to burst your bubble, but Steve (KONAMI PR) is always on WENB to monitor people's reactions and give his feedback to Konami Japan.

Previously, when WENB members mentioned that the Barca Logo on Messi's first impressive close up was low-res, Konami JAPAN sent to Steve an official word that the logo was a placeholder.

Having the cards misconcieved as an arcadish ability booster/taker, could mean a lot of money lost if the game is falsely painted as an arcade, when FIFA10 is doing everything to be regarded as a simulation.

Also, time is money at Gamescom. They don't want to spend time reexplaining the Cards system. They want to explain new stuff.

Bit of a difference between someone sending an email with the words "it's a placeholder" and making a five minute video based on a stupid comment in a fansite podcast.

I'm convinced that it would be Konami's UK PR making the video rather than the guys in Japan, then it would be more believable. They will have code sent to them on a regular basis to play with. But even then I doubt it's anything to do with WENB, it's a features video and nothing more IMO. They're good features and they want to show them off.

As you said, they're not the brightest when it comes to thinking "oh perhaps people will be put off by the animations being the old ones, and the 360 dribbling not being in there"...

I do think it's an older build though, I just feel like when I say that I'm setting myself up for disappointment as I have been for every previous year up to this point...

I think its the 50% build because its still showing liverpool v barca gameplay.Adam said when he first saw the code (barca v liverpool) that it was shocking because of the lack of animations.who knows the whole code could have been a smokescreen ?,I doubt it but surely the slider system will have dramatic effects on gameplay? it does show a lot better running off the ball.Its also a bit much to think that konami would show their hand this close to Gamescom.

It wasn't a "stupid comment on a fansite". It was a 45-minute podcast by the admins of what is arguably the biggest fansite of PES, about the "arcadish cards".

Cards is one of two big additions to PES2010 gameplay. Clearing up misconceptions with a 5-minutes video is WELL WORTH it.
Especially if they want to focus on newer stuff for Gamescom.
