PES2010 discussion thread

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I cannot avoid it but I feel disappointed. Anyway, the talk about old build is bull since we will know the truth next week when the gameplay videos flood Youtube. Cards/sliders look great, but the gameplay, specially passing, looks really bad. A complete let down...

Why is it "bull"? ThomasGOAL already said this video was made back in June. The purpose was only to demonstrate the sliders and cards system. You're basically watching 2 months old footage from a 55% build.

With all the respect to Thomas, I cannot trust his words, especially when this old build excuse has some time around PES. Anyway, I mean bull because it is useless to argue about it because we all know the truth next week...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Only believe what you actually see with your own eyes. Next week will tell the full story, no more early build bs etc.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Sorry but I have had 3 odd years of "chill, relax, that was a 50/60/70% build, and I never saw any difference by the time of release.

That's the game, right there IMO.

maybe a few animations added, but that will be the pace, ball physics, graphics, the majority of the animations and I doubt 360will have made it.

And £19.99 at Amazon tells its own story in respect of where the franchise actually sits nowadays (£37.96 for FIFA pre-ordered)

I said it before, but if Gamescom is not a revelation then I'm sure sales will take another hit with FIFA showing so much innovation and polish (although gameplay has to be better than 09, but feedback suggests it is) PES (like Mr Moore eluded to) is so far in FIFA's rear veiw mirror that it's not even being considered as a contender.

I cannot tell you how dissapointed I am, I'm grasping at different gameplay videos showing huge differences in comparison at gamescom..........................but 3 years of the same pre release bull shit has me thinking otherwise.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

The card system despite looking good will be a pain in the ass with all the "pauses"

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Like the use of the tactics sliders, it seems obvious to me, and something Ive said before, is that player individuality comes from exagerating player stats. Same can be seen in the sliders, it makes a really big difference whereas in FIFA its far more sublte. Same for player individuality. With the editing community as it is it could have amazing potential for people to perfect team playing styles and have them made available.

Where did the animations/360-movement come from? Havent seen anything from Konami and its seems to be rumours.

And that wasn't 360 movement, its 8 angle with a short sprint making it 16-angle.

Amusing to see they actually have a "cutback goal" card, because we can't get enough of those :D

There has been talk of quick tactics on the D-pad, so you'll set them up prior to starting the match and select quick tactics as and when.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Even for individual players ? That was my initial point anyway

It won't be specifically for individual players, but you may be able to set a formation to the d-pad with all your individual players different cards saved etc. I guess we won't know for certain until we play the demo or someone clears it up. You could always do them at half-time.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I really hoep they have quick settings for the slider,s otherwise it's going to be soooo dull in the match having to pause and re-adjust depending on what is going on.

How was stamina in PES 09? Did it make a big difference how you perform, and did it wear out faster/slower depending on your pressing?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Not even gonna bother going into how bad the gameplay looked in that video.

Funny to see the marble on glass floor ball physics are still there.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I think those will be the same animations at Gamescom, who is with me?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Nope, same video. We're also told that "Signs of how Konami are really putting in the hours to improve the animation for PES2010."

Oh dear.

Yeah worrying, but PESFan did say:

It's worth just pointing out that the video seems slightly faster in parts than it is in reality, which is most likely just down to the way it's been converted, so don't panic if you're sat there thinking it's much too fast. It also appears to be slightly out of date code, with the most up to date version being the one available at Gamescom (as well as PESFan offices, natch).

So I guess this talk of old code is quite right.

It'd be the most clever thing to do indeed and I hope it'll be like you described it since I'm not the type of gamer who spends more than 15 seconds changing formations and adjusting tactics.

Yeah, so you shouldn't be worried if you thought it was 'much to fast' even though the video might be 'slightly faster' than in reality..

1+1=3

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Eh? It makes perfect sense, the video is slightly faster because of the way it's converted so don't panic if you're sat there thinking it's much too fast.

gamescom_7DAYS.png

In 7 days, on August 19th, the biggest videogames expo will launch in Cologne, Germany.

Konami will make a big announcement which could be either 360° movement or the implementing of a new physics/animations engine, which is roumored to be the Endorphin Engine.

Make sure to be up-to-date and check the blog for more updates in the next days and especially between the 19th and the 23rd.

The game version available at gamescom should be around 70% comepleted which means that gameplay is nearly done with graphic, texture and roster updates completing the game.

The gamescom version is usually very similar to the final game so that will be the moment of truth for the PES fans all over the world.

Just to inform you, Konami said that the game version showed in the last trailer about strategies and cards in PES 2010 was from June and the same as the one which was previewed by many magazines back then. That version was around 55% comepleted.

PES next-gen Editing Blog will be there equipped with press-passes and cover everything about PES 2010.

We will post gameplay videos as well as reviews about the game here on the blog. We will also attend to the press conference and try to report also about new announcements made there.

If you have special questions you want us to answer when we play the game fell free to post them here in the comments.

What Konami says:
"Konami will be presenting a further world premiere with PES 2010. The new game has been developed following months of listening to feedback from fan forums and advice from PES players. Consequently PES Producer Shingo ‘Seabass’ Takatsuka will be visiting gamescom to introduce the results of this unique collaboration to visitors and fans. Seabass is promising to European players that new PES 2010 will be the most realistic and satisfying PES to date.

A few weeks ago Konami announced the Wii version of PES 2010 will be released in the autumn, shortly after the versions for PLAYSTATION®3, Xbox 360 and PC-DVD. PES Wii Fans will be delighted that Producer Akiyoshi ‘Greyhound’ Chosokabe will also make his way to Cologne to present key advances in the game including new gameplay and advanced graphical elements."

If you are interested in visiting gamescom in Cologne you can find Konami in hall 7.1, booth C30
The press conference will take place on August 19th at 12:00 PM here:

Well, to me 'slighty faster' and 'much too fast' isn't the same thing.

It's really fun to see how these sites will say anything to stay on KONAMI's good side and get early play tests and the like, they are even more unreliable than the gaming press that unfortunately doesn't know anything about the games, which is funny because that's what I thought they were going to change.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Animations, ball physics, nets. It all looks terrible. Exactly like 2009.
Let's hope it really is an early build. If it's not i'm very sad.
I don't care about the cards if the gameplay sucks.
