PES2010 discussion thread

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Animations, ball physics, nets. It all looks terrible. Exactly like 2009.
Let's hope it really is an early build. If it's not i'm very sad.
I don't care about the cards if the gameplay sucks.

For me also, I don't care at all about all these cards/strategies, at least since they don't fix once for all the gameplay.
I think that all these toys (cards & co.) look loke stuff supposed to keep people away from the core of the game. I don't know.
Who cares about that shi*?
Give us the game play.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Man, reading through that lot I deduced three things...

1. I fecking hate the term Chillax, guess I'm not down with the teens...

2. No one knows for sure what build this is besides Konami, and no matter how much some individuals would like to be a part of their merry little band, no one from Konami (TMK), has come forward and said eitherway...

3. Fanboys are funny...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Don't know if this has been posted here considering the multitude of pages in this thread, but according to a swedish website (level7.nu), they're reporting that the game plays more physically and 'heavy' this year, with improved response times but slower pace when it comes to dribbling and running. He also stated that because of this, it feels like it's taking steps towards FIFA this year.

Sounds good...

Surely the cards and new strategies will have a major impact on the gameplay mechanics ?? Hence their addition. I'm no rocket scientist, but forgive me for thinking this level of interlect isnt required to deduce the kind of relevance these new features will add ?

If not, then I'm afraid it's the end of the world as we know it.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Watching the video again in higher quality, I can see where people are coming from when they say that its from an old build. The gameplay on display certainly looks like screenshots in PSM3, the fact that Eto'o is still at Barca is further indication of this.

Either way, if Konami are truly reading the boards then they will know that a lot people are waiting for the new animations and releasing this a few days before Gamescon doesn't make sense.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

My main concern is about the on line...i can already pictures all those f....ers with cutback card turned on, 5 forwards chasing the ball and the defense superhigh...which means unplayble games...

Sliders are good off line but can easily be exploited on line.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I feel the tactics will go some way to addressing gameplay in my eyes. In the last few PES, i feel that tactics have had very little impact on the game, for me at least. The AI just led to defenders being way out of position and attackers not following up properly etc.

It looks, in theory, that these tactics 'might' just sort these things out to some degree. For example, i yearn for players to flood forward in front of me, when i'm in possession.

It's back on chaps. PES2010 is going to be a great game again.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

from the video it looks like pes2009

even at 50% it should not look like this

and from playtest impressions it sound like pes2010 is not that good :(

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

it does look pes09 in most parts. maybe they added the card system in pes09 build just to demonstrate its effect and wait till ganmescon for the real deal?

doubt it but i can only wish

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

from the playtest:
"Getting away: An overlay or shoots can take a tenth of a second extra to get the players will gain control of the ball or to the animations will catch up with."

i could cry. please dear god, do not make the game as unresponsible as fifa, please. :(

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

The thing is, Konami have shown video evidence of them doing mo-cap for this game so we know it's coming, yet there is little sign of it in the small gameplay snippets so far.

I hate the early build talk as much as the next man but it think it's quite clear that this is early code in the latest video. I don't think Konami would go to the expense, time and effort of using mo-cap technology only for the game to look exactly the same as PES2009. That why I'm still clinging to the hope that Gamescom will reveal a more advanced build. What we see in Cologne really is what we will get.

This is just another case of piss poor marketing by Konami. They've already talked about the tactics sliders. They didn't need to release this video. It just raises more questions than answers.

Yeah, has anyone read this yet?

Adam's efforts to make us stay optimistic are ridicolous, that's all

He will try this even after Gamescom when we will be disappointed, let's face it

Yes you're right.
I'm really disappointed about licensing : not even one german team, even not in a fake version.
I've been creating bundesliga teams by myself for 3 years now (PES 6, 2008, and 2009), and I read that konami didn't even try to get the bundesliga license this year.
So, I think that I won't buy the game anymore.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Traditional Evo-Web reaction if I ever did see one. I was peeved because I do not give a poop about the tactical system and that was all we got.

Konami and PR do not mix. This is a fact. We've been hearing about this Gamescon thing for a while, that's where we'll know the score for this year. There's a disconnect somewhere between here and Japan, where we all want to see fixed gameplay, yet Konami think we are lusting for information on this new tactical system.

We've been doing this song and dance for almost a decade...

Konami: Hurrr here's a tactical video, we know you were after it. If you're lucky you may even get to see a glimpse of Seabass Yay

Evo-web: Unnnggggg THE GAMEPLAY... RAPED ME. How could a company only 6,000 miles away (with a proven track record of not knowing what the fuck) not know what the fuck?

*PES sells millions*

*repeat next year*

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Posted on the 'other site' by Erik, author of the Level7 preview:

Hi guys!
Thanks for all the clever criticism, but the fact is that I've been testing early versions of PES for the last five years and it's never a big difference between that code and the final.

The only reason I don't write about the so called "BIG news" is because Konami didn't want me to. I have to wait for the official press release. The "big news" were in the code I tried.

The news should've been out by now along with the pack shot, but it seems to be delayed.

And please don't hope for a Megaton. It's nice functions, but I guess that depends on how desperate you are.

kind regards

Erik from Level7.nu

And finally the truth

the BIG nws is not so big

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I saw plenty of new animations in that video so I'm inclined to believe it's a recent build. The problem is the animations are almost as shit as the last ones! The running animation still looks incredibly awquard

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

If I dont see 360 degree movement and a new animation set next week, I sure as hell wont be waiting any longer to here these 'promises'.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

No way will 360 movement not be in there after the hinting from the PES community, surely?

Not long until Gamescom I suppose.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

So the fake master league players as minanda and co are not anymore, and replaced by real life players.
