PES still fails dramatically in moving and passing. It just can't combine both.
When players are about to make a pass, they stop their pace and the ball magically stops as well. This eliminates the possibility of fluid passing and passing with any pace. Plus, the players and the ball still move on rails and the ball still seems like it was filled with some metal, or the earth gravity is so strong the ball can't bounce 3 times in a row.
But the most important:
The card system ain't gonna work: you simply won't remember which cards your 11 players are using and which ones they should be using instead: will you pause the game 50 times per game to change the cards? you just won't, you will hate it (unless it's automatic, but the comp can't decide that for you, right?).
And the sliders, for god's sake, are the biggest flaw. Options like more or less team support are DYNAMIC in real life, purely situational. Players can't be open wide or close to each others as a constant, they do both according to game situations.
So if you want a tactical aproach:
Get the ball.
pause the game: set the sliders for kind of attack you're going to execute.
You lose the ball.
Pause the game: set Dany Alvez card to go back. Set the sliders to defend closely. Set your striker to chase defenders.
You recover the ball.
Pause the game: set your striker to move upfront quickly. Set your back four to move forwards.
You pass the ball to Xavi.
Pause the game: Set all players to get close to Xavi.
And so on till eternity.
They just got it all wrong. They made it fully exhaustively manual when it should have been fully super automatic.
Although I completely disagree with the way in which eaststrikewest went about addressing you, the sentence I've quoted doesn't do you any favours.PS - Video was made in June
That'll be my fault - ThomasGOAL said it over at WENB and I've mentioned it a few times in here, followed by the words "believe what you will". I believe it but I'm not stating it as a fact.Stating the video was made in June is pure conjecture and merely your opinion, yet you've worded it as fact.

Plz, unless you've oriented yourself to the subject, don't presume things. ThomasGOAL has already stated it as FACT that the video was made in June, not me.Although I completely disagree with the way in which eaststrikewest went about addressing you, the sentence I've quoted doesn't do you any favours.

FFS guys I leave you lot for a day and the thread turns to shit.
I for one do not think the video is bad at all the strategy sliders and cards look excellent along with the graphics and IMO the way the ball moves on the pitch is nice and organic.
Also they only really show Messi and Alves dribbling the ball more than 5 steps and those look good.
I dont know if this what we will be looking at come october but the video looks like the 50% build that everyone played and PSM3 reviewed, what with the old barca and all.
Lets see what Gamescom brings then we can decide because that will be the game without a doubt.
Thank god it's only 7 days to wait as well.
why the clap and the end of your post?
Ofcourse if you believe WENB.There is always a chance that the build used for the trailer/demo to mags was the june build but finished even earlier ie may and no other builds will be shown until gamescom - here's me praying!!!
Therein are words of wisdom, but don't you have a niggling feeling, dejavu perhaps? I don't want to but unfortunately experience has got the better of me.
I hear you doc. We have reason to be cautious. Those strategies mean f'all if the CPU AI doesn't pressure me to change tactics. I want to be forced to tighten the midfield and stop Alves from pushing up the field when Chelsea tighten the screws.
As for the video, I dont know what konami were trying maybe they just wanted to release it so that the gamescom version looks 'fresh' or they just wanted to wet the appetite but didn't expect the onslaught of you crazy europeans.
sorry to mention this here but the Fifa trailer was also wierd. I mean here is a franchise talking football sim. Then they release a video showing a striker doing circus tricks and chipping the ball 50m over the keepers head and into the net. All while the defender stroked his bum.
remember last year at liepzig they claimed that it was an early build and they got to see a version backstage which was better that never appeared.
I expect the same again

Amen to that. Non-soccer oriented websites like Gamespot are pouncing at a chance to slaughter PES2010. They don't get that it takes more than 5 mins to judge a football game.Yes and I remember you saying PES 2010 being the next gen PES 3.
I blame you if it fails!
I still think Konami are going to pull this one out come Gamescom. I just hope we get decent footage and proper unbiased journalism.

I'll just ignore this part of your post.Plz, unless you've oriented yourself to the subject, don't presume things.
He may or may not have stated it as fact, but that doesn't make it fact.ThomasGOAL has already stated it as FACT that the video was made in June, not me.
