Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

yup defo got to wait for Gamescom...........why bother announcing anything so close to actually being able to play it.

There's talk of the big news hitting tomorrow but I can't see it happening myself. One week away from the main event wouldn't make sense.

It's not this Wednesday, it's next, August 19, when Gamescon starts
So, mistery solved, they decided to keep the news secret till Gamescon

I shall pen-in a wicked shit on my downstairs toilet for wednesday. That could be "big news" for anyone who likes shit.(JGrim)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

They've showed them the game and given them playtests, only to control them and stop them from leaking info like some guys use to do in the old days. They are the sheep of Konami.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Just browsing through another site, and found these posts from a guy whom I personally 99.99% agree with everything he says. Although I still dont agree the keepers are 'bad'.

So I have just copied it and pasted it over .......

"Thinking about it and looking at the mo-cap sessions done in barcelona you can see on the laptops used at the session thats its euphoria so it looks like pes2010 will be using the euphoria engine and that the 50% build was just a smoke screen using pes09s engine to disguise and play down anticipation for pes2010 so konami can steal eas thunder near launch.

if so it will be great news for us the fans as all the rumour of the last couple of years in realtion to konami building a new game will be true, plus they will easily be able to map over alot of the work already done in pes08-09 so the game will feel very complete.

this is why jo murphys pr statement of barcelona reads mixed emotions in barcelona its criptic and a hidden statement for the fans.

It has to happen konami need to lay a more complex template down for the next ten years ahead not just recycling the ps2 versions with better graphics which is commercial suicide and will not be enough for the majority of pes fans that want a newer fresher experience that still remains true to the pes formula but feels and plays more like a next generation product.

think about it for all the rose tinted nostalgia of pes5 and 6 will this really be enough,no pes2010 has to be so much more and be a revolutionary step forward not a throw back to the uneccesssary control complexity of pes of old like having the right trick stick and right thumbstick manual passing which only compensated for the lack of flexibility in d-pad control and its limitations. This is where fifa09 gets it wrong it thinks buy having a overly complex control system its more simulated.

Real footballers use one or both feet to move pass and shoot as well as do tricks so this should be intergrated and controlled via the primary means of control the left thumbstick and relevant buttons so control is logical and not clumbersome and overly illogical. This is why despite many d-pad users not liking it pes2010 has to go full analog on the left thumbstick and have manual passing mapped to the left thumbstick and x,o,triangle buttons and have the tricks activated by the use of the left thumbstick and r2 trigger not automatic like pes09 which just makes more sense.

Pes09 is still a great game that is superior to fifa09 despite its auto tackling, poor collision detection and limited 8-axis control.

After 9 months of playing pes09 i personally think its the best pes in the series as its more measued and realistic you just have to make the transition from the more forgiving ps2 versions that to be fare where a little on the arcadie side and a bit unrealistic despite having pretty descent gameplay.

Better annimation and more refinement plus more stable ai would certainly make PES2010 a better game then PES09 but i think konami have got something bigger and better and a step up from what we have had for the last ten years...like i have said previously pes is one of the few games today in 3d that uses 8-axis movement and this backwards 2d restrictive system has to be put to bed.

P.S Before people reply to my comment by saying that pes09 has unrealistic 90 degree turns with no loss of pace and the ability to skin a whole team with one player i know this its just the finer details in pes09 like the better ball physics and the flight of the ball and the way you can defend better and retain possession setting up camp in the opposition half just ploughing on the pressure or the better improved long pass and the ability to build more and have more of a end product from your build up play or open your body up on shots.Things like the poor goalkeeping and over egged momentum shift are minor flaws that dont detract to much from what is fundamentally a fairly solid game.

This might upset some people but i feel pes5 and 6 are overated and full of flaws that people gloss over and easily forget."

Both games are flawed, people will overlook whatever they have to I guess...

I stopped reading right there.

Pes09 was absolute rubbish.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Let's be open and honest; there has not been an exciting footy game that came out for 3-4 years now.
At least, that's how I feel. Also, PES09 is a lot more flawed then FIFA IMO.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

If scoring goals like this with 60+ dribblers ALL THE TIME means that Pes 2009 is good, then it's good. I guess.

LOL !!

It's a flaw that needs addressing and has been addressed. Simple.

And you play the game how you personally want to play the game. Do I play with my finger on the sprint button constantly ? No I don't. Do I enjoy the footballing aspects of the game, yes I do.

PERSONAL OPINION PEOPLE.

Fremm, I appreciate you havent found a footy game exciting in the last 4 years. Well I have, this one. Each to their own.

True enough mate, wasn't having a go or anything. I think the general feel of 'clunckiness' and ease broke the game for me...
Here's hopin' for 2010...

No offence taken mate, we all want the same resolution at the end of the day. PES at it's very, very best, and I really do believe it's on its way.

As for the eye bleeding video ....

And I quote " This is a crisis, a large crisis. In fact, if you've got a moment, it's a twelve-storey crisis with a magnificent entrance hall, carpeted throughout; twenty-four hour porterage and an enormous sign on the roof saying 'This is a Large Crisis'.

But I do believe Konami have a plan for PES2010 so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel. ;0)

And my all-time favourite, whilst I live in hope that this year, Seabass is our modern day Massingbird equivilent......

"I remember Massingbird's most famous case - the Case of the Bloody Knife. A man was found next to a murdered body. He had the knife in his hand, thirteen witnesses had seen him stab the victim and when the police arrived he said 'I'm glad I killed the bastard.' Massingbird not only got him off, he got him knighted in the New Year's Honours list, and the relatives of the victim had to pay to get the blood washed out of his jacket".

Genius.

"You have a woman's hand, milord! I'll wager these dainty pinkies never weighed anchor in a storm."
"Your skin milord. I'll wager it ne'er felt the lash of a cat ['o' nine tails], been rubbed with salt, and then flayed off by a pirate chief to make fine stockings for his best cabin boy."
"Ha. -Aah! You have a woman's purse! I'll wager that purse has never been used as a rowing-boat. I'll wager it's never had sixteen shipwrecked mariners tossing in it."
"Oh! You have a woman's mouth, milord! I'll wager that mouth never had to chew through the side of a ship to escape the dreadful spindly killer fish. "

Sorry for the OT

@Lons: It is HIS opinion, no need for you to make it out as something totally untrue. If you cannot appreciate other peoples opinions and points of view then an internet forum is not the best place for you to be!

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I really hope PES 2010 delivers. Animations will be key for me this year. I don't want to see anything robotic out there as it just ruins the exp. for me.

Totally agree. Next-gen football games have been a major disappointment for me, with one 'incomplete' game after another from both EA and Konami. PES5 was the last one that really had me addicted and after playing the game again recently I still find it the most perfect and complete football experience, even if it does look a bit rough around the edges now.

Yes PES 09 is more flawed than Fifa but despite all that I still find it more fun. If you play the game the right way (as Jimmy said) and try not to make a big deal of the flaws it's a very solid football title.

Lol!

So, the problem that has existed since pes 6 is now (maybe) being addressed in pes 2010 makes Pes 2009 a good game?
