Well in the stream the shadows seems to have changed by half time, couldn't notice any difference in lighting of the pitch during the match though...

Your videos is my number1 the closest to the real thing - the game is slower than your videos mate and that’s on normal game speed

Would be delighted if this is true. A throwback to how players like ronaldinho and Henry felt in years gone by. Effective in different ways.

Sarcasm noted. But even if it's true that PA2 is now like what PA1 was like, it's still shameful to be using it on stream. Presumably, for fear of not making stray passes in front of people. Or for wanting an artificial advantage over an opponent.

We all know that PA1 was already way too assisted. So it's great that PA1 is now less assisted (if these reports are true; and if it's not tweaked in a patch at some point).

For comparison, MidniteKid used PA1 on stream, and just sucked it up. He talked about how the passes went astray and that it was a good thing for a change.

But the self-styled PESOLOGIST, who presumably graduated with a first-class Pesology degree, couldn't play with default settings in front of others. And that's despite 60% of his own Twitter followers suggesting he plays with PA1 on stream, in a poll he ran in advance.

So yeah, he's hardly covered himself in glory there, and we don't get a chance to watch more PA1 footage as well.
 
what PA is set out the box?

do you have to actually go in and make it more assisted or does it start off that way. for 2018 anyway?
 
There is also a video up on Twitter of the Celtic players all being scanned. Maybe people will stop banging on about Scott Brown's nose now. :)

I remember last year when the Fulham deal was announced that the players would "will be replicated via Konami’s full body-scanning process". This never happened and only one player got a face update. That was Sessegnon.

Also, the latest Twitter rumours that all of the second division leagues have been removed. Bullshit surely.

In recent years, including 2018 and the new edition, PA1 is default. You have to go out your way into the controller settings to change it. Which Pesep did on stream, and which PES League finalists also do.
 
Great info coming out of Celtic FC event, thanks for taking the time to share. Looking forward to the demo, I liked PES 2018, 2019 sounds even better
 
Daniel - If you stick around long enough you may see the Celtic Way (walkway at the front of the stadium) illuminated in all its glory. What a beautiful place to play football.

The sad thing is that it should be shocking or laughable, but it's treated as normal to do this. Hence, no shame doing it like that.

It's a culture.

I wonder how many PA2> people realise that it affects the ability of the opponent's team directly. I hear a lot of them refer to it as though it's just a preference, personal to them.

No: it interferes with your opponent's defensive AI.

The worst line is "Oh, but we should include everyone".

Yeah: toddlers too, it seems.

If i remeber correctly from the other forum pesmunki is like a brother to matt10. Would be interesting if matt10 too is invited.

It's worth noting that the default used to be PA2 and when this was standard PA1 had much more freedom. Ever since they set the default to 1 it's been piss poor and overly assisted.
PES 2015 was the last game that offered a choice that made a difference, it beggers belief that they can't go back to that model. 15 on 1 bar was a lovely blend of manual & assistance and we haven't had this much freedom since.

It's almost as if they set the default to 1 as some sort of token gesture but then did an "in house" U-turn and made it an assisted mess (cos god forbid if you have to think about passing on default!!!) much to the detriment of the game.
I'd be more than happy if they went back to a default of 2 if it meant 1 had the freedom it used to.

Yup. And I'd be fine if they reverted to that default, so long as it then meant PA1 stayed free.

That would be best for the offline crowd, and then for the online crowd, it would be great if they introduced a genuinely strict filter for assistance levels.

That's it. That's all I'd need from them. The smallest change would make the biggest difference to how this game plays online.

Exactly, they took a choice away from us for no apparent reason. There are higher levels of assistance if you want them but no real option of a semi assisted variant anymore. I'm holding out some hope that the passing is a bit more free this year on PA1, in a few days we'll find out.

If you try to pass the ball while standing still or while jogging, the reaction is instantaneous, but if you try to do it while sprinting it will take one more second.

I always thought PES2018 is this way, in terms of passing.
Maybe that "one more second" means "as soon as the player is close enough to the ball to make a pass".
Also, it depends on how much power you put into the pass, which is a good thing.
