PES 2019 News Discussion Thread (INSULTS/DIGS = INSTANT BAN)

From what I heard from a Twitter member, they tried until the very last minute but there were some technical issues between FOX ENGINE and ENLIGHTEN that made it impossible to be included this year.
Looks like when they made the Announcement Trailer, it was very early in the game developement but it was working but then they faced some issues and had to do this 1st Half - 2nd Half split.

Here is the source of what I'm talking about:

My issue is that I would have accepted it and be OK with it had they released a official statement explaining what happened and the issues they faced. What I don't like is when they try to justify themselves and lie to people saying things like "I didn't say it was going to be dynamic" or "I never said this or that personally". It annoys me, a lot.
I thought ENLIGHTEN ENGINE is already in the game, that why it looks better this year.
Now they're saying ENLIGHTEN it is not included.

Last year, REAL CAPTURE was what makes the lighting true-to-life, now they're say they've reworked it using ENLIGHTEN software.

Changing the color palette and some textures, and some color grading make it look like what it is now.
No new engine needed but they're making us believe that it's because of the new software.

They like to use terms like "rework" and "overhaul", when in fact just tweaks from previous version.
There's no new technology, just new gimmicky names.

Your post made me smile - because you started off with "Then why are they spending money on licences if they don't matter"

To then starting your next response with "I wasn't criticising them for anything, to be fair. I've given them the praise they deserve for getting licences and it will definitely attract some new fans."
Did you miss the part where I quite clearly said that I was playing Devil's Advocate?

Talking generally here looking at the big picture licences don't matter because like I said in a earlier post (maybe you didn't see it) PES's strength has always been the edit mode.
I ask again then, playing Devil's Advocate, why are they spending money on them if they don't matter?

As I said before, the importance of them differs from person to person, but they definitely do matter to some degree, otherwise Konami wouldn't be paying the money for them, would they?

It isn't a criticism of them for getting licences, it's examining the suggestion made by employees and fans alike in the past that they don't matter at all.

Why don't they allow us to add another 20 leagues with new players etc through edit mode. It seems when you come to choose an option file you have to be picky about what leagues you want, why not have them all? Surely that's not hard to include?

This has always annoyed me too, some weird limitations in the game and for not a lot of work it would hugely improve the game.

The issues I've always seen with this is that there are not enough kit slots to make it worthwhile. You can barely cover off the teams in the game now without having to lose kit quality for them all (1024x1024 instead of 2048x2048)

But moving forward getting as much licences as possible has been a good thing we've seen a positive response to it, loving the energy I've seen from scottish fans, I like to see edit get bigger stadium creator, create a trophy, create captains armbands for various leagues/tournaments, import crowd chants (just a small eg)

This wishlist made me smile because actually the editing capabilities regressed during the last years. There has been a stadium creator (as basic as you can imagine, but at least existent) and the possibility to import chants at least on some systems - all taken out of the game instead of being enhanced.

Personally i would prefer to hear more news about editing and details on gameplay improvements in PES instead of getting licenses of teams i will never play (against). Every day closer to the release date shows that the core problems of PES are not adressed. KONAMI doesn´t even show they are aware of it, unimpressed by constant feedback through all channels imagineable (which should be a lot more than 87 happy clappers discussing their scottish rivalries more than the implementation of the licensed league)

Yep, that doesn't make sense at all. We're not in the PS2 days of 8mb memory cards, PCs and consoles have a lot more storage these days, why not make use of it?

It has to be a business decision for me. If you could make all your own leagues and have a ton of kits and gameplay was decent why would you buy 2020

Because there are and have been more than enough people which head over the FIFA if there is absoletely no unique selling proposition in PES anymore.

You have to keep guessing/praying as to what game play improvements have been made to the core game. It may be interesting to hear what some of the play testers at Glasgow, who already played the e3 code, think tomorrow. In a weeks time we can all give our own verdicts - should be interesting.

The one publishes pitch notes with detailed videos of new gameplay mechanics explained, others create a press tour trailer long after full match gameplay is out.

Going from the demo code last year, we won´t be wiser than before regarding the final product.

they are strong rumors that the 3 fakes leagues will be not included in pes 2019.
any confirmation on that?

They don't really matter.................for those that really just want a good solid football game. This is what we'd call, "a wanna have" but not "a must have".
As soon as you start playing all these things won't really matter. The stadiums and licenses just adds to. It's nice to play in a real stadium with real team chants, tv broadcast presentation etc, but the most important thing will always be the gameplay. That's the thing that will make u wanna keep playing.
These other things just help to keep it fresh. Hearing and seeing new things. But after a few months you would have seen and heard it all and if the gameplay isn't that good it will become boring. People are still updating and patching PES5 and PES6, that says a lot. The gameplay decides the lifespan of a game, features just add to it.

At least we will be able to try the new shooting, fatigue system, player positioning, ai responsiveness etc. If it appears to be minimal improvements to last years game then I will not make a day 1 purchase.

I don't think it's true. There were some screens where you can see some fake teams.
And I also know the source, it's not very reliable.
then only thing is to be wrong. i prepare my self to create my country's league . so i only thing is to be wrong. l hope

But that is just your viewpoint and as I said earlier on, the importance of licences varies from person to person. They don’t really matter that much to me, to be honest, but I can appreciate why they do matter to others and it’s precisely why I said I was playing Devil’s Advocate.

My point all along is that no matter to what variance it is from person to person, they do matter. Konami wouldn’t be spending money on them if they didn’t matter.

The praise for Konami when they obtain a licence cannot go hand in hand with “well they don’t matter anyway” when they lose/fail to obtain one.

I also hear rumours that some/all second divisions may be gone.
No source again though, just heard through the grapevine.

Sooner Konami do their website update with the team lists the better.
