new vid: gameplay starts at around 4.15... get a good sense of how smooth itll look as its a 60fps capture in front of monitor.. had volume down so I couldn't hear what the guys were saying - guessing they were reviewing the demo...

PES always flatters to deceive. First couple of minutes I was loving it, misplaced passes all over the place! Then the second goal at 6:10...total meh. Volleys, a bit like free kicks, feel too easy, the sliding/teleporting makes it baby mode, you don't have to position yourself properly (although in this case it was okay). The presence of defenders doesn't do enough to affect the player hitting the shot, he's got a defender right in his face wildly swinging at the ball and yet makes a perfect connection with no physical contact or even the slightest impact on the striker, the defender might as well not even be there. And for the way he hit that the resulting shot was so tame and weak. I know I'd get zero satisfaction from that goal. So near and yet so far.

It seems El Cilindro (Racing's Stadium) could be in too.

Its great time with licenses in Pes. In this package Pes can compete with FIFA in sales.
It's nice that they have these new licenses but it does very little to attract SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT of new customers..
FIFA have licenses to league and teams that really matters to majority of the people.

Forget the sales!
It will be a HUGE victory for PES if they can even reach 10% of FIFA's sales.

Those leagues like Turkey and Scotland are going to be a big selling point for them easily, and also other leagues that concerns those that want to play with their country fav team, that easily means more sales. Those leagues never existed before in PES for those people, so it’s a great start to sell more copies. And hopefully when they do, Konami gives the PES team a bigger budget to work with.

don't underestimate the power of Scotland, Russia, Turkey combined
Yeah I agree with you mate. Especially for Turkey, they are 70 milion nation, very passionate about football. If anyone ever follow what happens in Turkish league will know what I talk about. Will be dream to play if they manage to fully picture the atmosphere from the stadiums, also very good and quality players in their clubs. Will see :)
btw Daniel when you get your hands on the game?

No doubt about that! Of course they can sell more to those countries you guys mentioned relatively to their sales the previous year. But I don't think it will be significant enough to compete with FIFA.
I'm also just replying to someone who said PES can compete with FIFA in sales.

2nd of August he will get hands on the code!

I think Konami will get more customers with all the new leagues, stadiums and another step in evolution of the series!
But it’s all said above, imo.

Agile init. Way of the world these days. Although I'd be shocked if their development teams are working in a truly agile fashion, or at best they are but in a horribly inefficient way.

Finally, we have an explanation for what Konami has been doing over the last couple of years: MVP.
Problem is, they haven't figured out that you can't release a basic MVP iteration every year but actually need to have improved iterations after analyzing your current iteration:D

If they could have all the stadiums for these leagues..like we had in PES 2013 with Spain all first league stadiums....that would mean something in therms of selling the game...imagine all thouse scottish stadiums...turkish and russian...holland and potuguese....stadiums brings game to life...makes it feel more authentic...

Konami have been working hard to snap up great licences and do partnership deals with clubs, expect this to continue.

I'll be at Glasgow this Thursday to get hands on with new code (yep I'm honoured to have been invited) but luckily the demo is days away now

I appreciate that but for me not having the likes of the Bearnabeau, Old Trafford, Juventus Stadium and big club licences to go along with same then its difficult to be impressed considering that PES's of the bygone era had these in each year.

Kind of ironic when you think about it.
How many years have we been told that licences don't matter and gameplay is key. Now they're doing a 180 and bagging as many as they can.

And it's true licences don't matter because of PES strength in it's edit mode and over the years the wonderful work by the community.

Konami are not bragging they have been announcing, the happiness, bragging and the #takemymoney have been coming from the fans.

Scotland’s premier division is the 6th best supported league in the world per capita!

Combine this with the 8 or 9 million fans that each of the old firm teams have registered world-wide and by including the SPFL premiership there is potentially extra millions of ‘punt’ buyers who may take a wee dabble in PES this season!

As you rightly point out don’t underestimate the enormous international interest in Scottish football.

True mate, but the other side has these on lockdown, they have a certain gamemode, a golden goose that has been giving them the financial power to go out and secure the big leagues.

it would be cool if for eg the premier league decided to collect double money and give the licence to both football games but the other side pays the big bucks for exclusivity.

Konami are doing good things with what they have and today's announcements have been greeted positively

Those stadiums were made by MJTS.
Durandill only made Old Trafford (but didn't complete it) and Allianz Arena (didn't complete it).
MJTS finished Durandill's work and then made the rest. So I think we can expect a lot from both of them, but more so from MJTS.
more absurdly if they lose stadiums to make room for new ones and better for the PC version...:))
because you can reimport ....:BOP:

No doubt Pes with these licenses and stadia can compete with FIFA. A lot of european leagues like French, Italian, Scotish, Turkish, Russian, Belgium, Holland, Lig Nos and more its good base. New stadia like Ajax, Nou Camp, Liverpool, Veltis Arena, Fenerbache, Portugal, Celtic, Rangers and more looks fantastic. Its base to compete with FIFA in licenses department.

Maybe... just maybe, we’ve been riding this horse for to long. Maybe this way now we get new people to buy the game. Take their money for a couple of years. Then change to gameplay again (180’‘) full throttle with PS5!
Little selfish, eh?! :LMAO:
It’s called „the healing phase“ and the 3 year circle starts with 2019.
;)

It is isn't it? Obviously losing the champions league license is a loss but what we're seemingly getting in return is preferable to me. The greatest football game ever - pes 5 - did not have any euro league license and it was.. Well, the best. I like the direction they're taking and actually investing the champions league license costs into something else. There are a lot of misgivings as always but I have to give credit where it is due. That is of course if they execute all the additions properly. If the extra leagues / stadia are just copy-paste with no stadium atmosphere and no stats discerning teams / players then it will be useless.

I'm really anxious about the conf in Brasil. It would be nice see Grêmio as a partner or at least with its Arena in the game.

I will not miss the Champions League licence that much. Didn't think pes did that much with it tbh. Just a nice luxury, but I would rather have more teams - and better game play, hopefully, as pes is about the game play, innit?

I have to admit when I first saw the 3 year Master League plan, it felt like it had been dreamed up in a pie in the sky agile planning session.

Agile is almost always inefficient, because essentially it is a scam industry.

I have not followed PES 2019 news closely, and think PES has been blow par for many years. There are fundamental issues with the game that need fixed before I can enjoy it.

However, I felt compelled to support the game because of Celtic's partnership. £55 pre order, they got me :(
