But that is just your viewpoint and as I said earlier on, the importance of licences varies from person to person. They don’t really matter that much to me, to be honest, but I can appreciate why they do matter to others and it’s precisely why I said I was playing Devil’s Advocate.

My point all along is that no matter to what variance it is from person to person, they do matter. Konami wouldn’t be spending money on them if they didn’t matter.

The praise for Konami when they obtain a licence cannot go hand in hand with “well they don’t matter anyway” when they lose/fail to obtain one.
For those that really just want a good solid football game they don't...........problem is that, that amount is nothing compared to the amount of those for which it does matter and since the amount in sales is a priority for every company that produce a product, KONAMI will do anything to help the sales go up.But when you look at what they've accomplished through the years as a company when it comes to this game, often without the licenses, i understand why that comment is often made, especially when you consider the competition they face.

Well that’s precisely my point. Your personal viewpoint is irrelevant, as is mine, as like I already said, the importance of licences varies by individual.

Konami deem them to matter, based on the fact they’re spending money on them. The only time we hear from Konami that they don’t matter is when one is lost. We also see the same voices who sing Konami’s praises when obtaining a licence revert to “licences don’t matter anyway” when one is lost or missed. My point is you can’t hold both of those positions; they’re mutually exclusive from one another.

I don’t disagree with your comments about what they’ve achieved, often without licences, but the competition for licences isn’t the issue at hand.

most see the product as inferior without the licenses so to bump the sales, they go out and get them

I thought ENLIGHTEN ENGINE is already in the game, that why it looks better this year.
Now they're saying ENLIGHTEN it is not included.

Last year, REAL CAPTURE was what makes the lighting true-to-life, now they're say they've reworked it using ENLIGHTEN software.

Changing the color palette and some textures, and some color grading make it look like what it is now.
No new engine needed but they're making us believe that it's because of the new software.

They like to use terms like "rework" and "overhaul", when in fact just tweaks from previous version.
There's no new technology, just new gimmicky names.

AFAIK Enlighten is still in the game, yes. Just not for Dynamic Lighting.

I wonder what amazing things would have happened to the game if KONAMI had separated just 10%(or more) of licencing budget for the R&D of the actual game. I'm pretty sure they'd done better job shadowing fifa's impact engine by introducing more organic physics/foul systems, reduced footsliding and overall general improvement.....most importantly, people would stop saying ''for a small team like konami''.

If old trafford is not replicated like the fifa one, which looks absolutely accurate, then it shouldn t be in the game, that distance btw goal post and stands is an issue..

Not something I care, really.
I prefer to have it, even if not perfectly recreated, than not having it. It's an extra stadium afterall.
But hey, you're free to not download it.

From Bhatti twitter :
,,Absolutely agree. The fake leagues you mentioned will remain, please don’t worry. Full confirmation on leagues, licenses and teams for launch day will be announced in the coming weeks. As mentioned at E3, still trying to add more licensed leagues after launch!"
Hmmm more leagues coming?

That seems to confirm fake leagues.

Nah, it's promoting a Mod/Patch of the Argentinian 2nd Division.
Speaking of momentum....
