One more week to demo. Have you guys lowered your expectation today ? expecting it to be at the very bottom.

Sad to see something like passing assistance, backheel, fouls, and some other constructive feedbacks are not addressed on the official tweeter, or its representatives.

Oh wait, its even hard to change the menu background, let alone core gameplay. lol.

Konami can't fix these things and aren't interested in our feedback, Their track record proves it sadly.

Giving us 200 leagues means nothing when ML is broken like last year.

Guys of course licences matter they just haven't because for years the editors have been doing the work for free.

Like imagine no edit mode and and for years people HAD to use the default strips/names etc. it would have died off pretty quick.

According to this guy, who is always on point, these will be the selectable options pre-match:
Summer/Day
Winter/Day
Day/Rain
Afternoon/Night

It's good that afternoon is officially confirmed to be back but that's a bit confusing wording from the guy. If we read between the lines and assume based on the half time switch Konami mentions, it sounds we'll actually have plenty of options, which is very not-Konami like...

Time: Day/Afternoon, Afternoon/Night or Day/Day, Afternoon/Afternoon and Night/Night. Combined with 2 seasons Summer and Winter.
Also there's weathers, which may also switch on half-time(?), we have Clear, Rain, Cloudy and Snow(winter only). Theoretically they might also make a clear/cloudy, clear/rain, cloudy/rain for summer and cloudy/snow for winter. Plus plus, with some modding we can maybe switch positions so it's rainy 1st half sunny 2nd etc. Or maybe even night 1st half day 2nd.

Extra leagues in the plans/works via DLC confirmed by Bhatti make me wonder if they'll just leave a bunch of hidden empty league and team slots in the database ready to be filled. They will add 1 or 2 leagues tops maybe through the year, but if they add many slots, maybe they can be unlocked and we could end up with many leagues for ML(assuming it doesn't crash)

judging from the trailer classic short models are back like the old pes classic international teams you could buy in the shop

Online translation:

PES and FIFA compete with their football matches for the favour of gamers. Konami tries it with realism, EA with an arcade-heavy game and large licenses. At the PES League World Championships in Barcelona we spoke with Jonas Lygaard of Konami, Senior Director Brand & Business Development. He worked as a business analyst for EA for five years before joining the competition. His former employer pumps more prize money into his own eSports competitions every year and lets the players compete with their Ultimate Team teams. There every player can put together his dream team and, for example, send Messi to the field next to Ronaldo - almost unthinkable in reality.

In competition in the PES League, however, the participants play for a fraction of the EA prize money and with authentic teams. About his former employer, Lygaard has a controversial opinion: "We know EA has decided to do things differently with his Ultimate Team mode: He's clearly driven by getting consumers to spend as much money as possible."

The FIFA community has been criticising this practice for many years. Their observation: Only those who invest (much) real money have a chance in the Global Series. Lygaard assumes that this will have consequences: "Things will change because we learn from everything we do. How we develop games. We don't just sit around saying, "That's good, we do that and don't change anything about it." Lygaard is critical of other developers' practices: "If you become self-satisfied in your life or lazy about your development, or stop driving yourself, you will very quickly see the reality and the effect of it.

What is also clear beyond the pithy words of the PES manager: Konami has been fighting for years against the declining relevance of his own football simulation. And so shortly before the start of sales a few clear words are not bad. If it goes to Lygaard, PES is the better simulation for all football clubs anyway, because they play with the real teams and not with fantasy teams like in FIFA. Lygaard is convinced that no club would like its eSportsmen to compete with the players of other teams.

The gamers don't care: FIFA 18 was the best-selling game in Europe in the second half of 2017, and nothing the new PES 2019 will do anything to change that. Money-earning policy and stagnating development or not.

I look at it like this:

PES2015 was an ok game, bare bones to be honest. But enjoyable

PES2016 was better than PES2015 in every way. Especially in terms of fluidity and graphics

PES2017 was a graphical step down to PES2016 somehow. But was better in every other way.

PES2018 was a slight improvement on PES2017. Which I still enjoy now.

Not saying each iteration was worth your guys money compared to its relevant previous years game, but it was for me.

I am really looking forward to the demo and PES2019.

Those games have had an instant bare bones playability about them, but they have all lacked that magic, organic subtlety, from the golden era of pes. Everything is 100mph, end to end, and it gets wearisome after only a few games. Still, looking forward to tomorrow in Glasgow and next weeks demo.

so the confirmation came from adam, the fake leagues WILL BE in pes 2019

It still a ennoying system those fakes leagues.

You know, before starting a ML, you can choose to not playing with "fakes leagues" right? It sound okay at first, but it doesn't apply to all the 23-24 fakes teams from Others Latam, 4 or 5 in Others Euro, so you've got plenty of fake teams to edit.
It's way too much before starting to play a ML...
There's not another way to add teams? Or to choose to NOT makes participates the Others Latam/Euro?

Edit: there should be check boxes if you want to choose between PEU/PLA/PAS/OET/OLA. Simple.

If you're in contact with Adam, please ask him. Fucking tired of mass editing before even starting a single ML.

No matter what KONAMI do, some people will always complain.

sorry, @vialli82 thats exactly what i thought when starting to read your comment! i dont know you in person...
but its the first thing that come to my mind when reading your first sentence as an answer to "the fake leagues are still in"! i have a good read of your comments and talk to you... so this is just something a "friend" felt when reading it.

all good! :)

No matter what KONAMI do, some people will always complain.

But there's issues with those fakes league... An option "add a team/league" is something far better than what they purpose now.

So i repeat: at least giving us the option to makes OET/OLA not participate to Master League is at least the more easy way to bypass this problem.
All those fake players with high weird stats, appearance and names, and transfered from teams to teams...

There's also some teams in PEU league with different banners langage and you can't change that.
On PES 2018: 8 teams with german langage, 2 greek, 2 portugese (so if you want something "realistic", you need to create two teams from 2nd division portugal...) 2 russian, 3 turkey, the rest is in english/standard banners.

Same goes from PAS (some in arabic, japanese, chinese etc.)

That's things which are a bit ennoying when you want to re-create with authenticity a full league. Playing Hertha Berlin with greek banner... Okay

Edit: no problem @PRO_TOO , but are you an "editing" guy? I said that with no offense.
But if you are, you could understand that the work makes it complicated.

And nobody can say that "whatever Konami's does", because they've done nothing in fact with those league: simply let them him (i think without giving us a very little bit more of editing, like at least changing banners langage or whatever else)

So, i'm hoping we could at least change banners names, or makes those teams mentionned NOT participate to ML. That's all.

@vialli82 i get you. and the rest of your comment was ok. its just that the first sentence as an direct answer... it just looks bad! it stinks! nothing personal here as i like your comments. lets leave it here. its nothing mayor. it was just a feeling from my guts! ;)

i'm not a huge editor. i do my kits here and there, edit my local team in and such... but yes! im with you. never want to miss those fake leagues and wish for more edit options! it helped me stick with the series for so long for sure!

People really worry about banners in the crowd? Whatever next.

I care. Sorry for wanting to recreate a bundesliga which looks authentic.

@PRO_TOO sorry for my first sentence, perhaps it's a "lost in translation" thing... But i've reconsidered the whole fake teams system. It could be way better, like FM system to create leagues/teams of Fifa Creation Center.
I've spended my time editing the whole database from PES 2018, and played perhaps 5% of my time.

I've made a thread, a word with 70-80 pages with only in game data errors to correct... So it's a bit normal that i'm a bit harsh about data.

Data if for me what's create long terms gameplay... Even short terms. Stats makes football-ish sensations.
If you take a look at all the mistake on this thread: https://www.evo-web.co.uk/threads/database-check.78821/

You'll be more ennoyed to play with some lower leagues teams when you know that 80% of the players have 4/4 on wrong foot accuracy/frequency due to an conversion error when PES were on a 8 scale considering wrong foot.

I don't want to play with teams full of Nedved players anymore. I hope what i've sended to Gabe will open the eyes of the Data Editor a bit.

Did you miss the part where I quite clearly said that I was playing Devil's Advocate?

I ask again then, playing Devil's Advocate, why are they spending money on them if they don't matter?

As I said before, the importance of them differs from person to person, but they definitely do matter to some degree, otherwise Konami wouldn't be paying the money for them, would they?

It isn't a criticism of them for getting licences, it's examining the suggestion made by employees and fans alike in the past that they don't matter at all.

I understood Nik, game developers focus and priorities shift from one year to another, I gave my opinion that licences do's not matter and have not mattered due to the edit mode which has served PES well.

all licences do is add to authenticy, team, stadium, players. and ultimately attract more sales.

This wishlist made me smile because actually the editing capabilities regressed during the last years. There has been a stadium creator (as basic as you can imagine, but at least existent) and the possibility to import chants at least on some systems - all taken out of the game instead of being enhanced.

Personally i would prefer to hear more news about editing and details on gameplay improvements in PES instead of getting licenses of teams i will never play (against). Every day closer to the release date shows that the core problems of PES are not adressed. KONAMI doesn´t even show they are aware of it, unimpressed by constant feedback through all channels imagineable (which should be a lot more than 87 happy clappers discussing their scottish rivalries more than the implementation of the licensed league)

I haven't seen your example of 87 happy clappers discussing their scottish rivalries more than the implementation of the licensed league, have some respect for scottish football and let them enjoy their moment they deserve it, all it was was banter between fans over two days Celtic first announced as partners then the following day Rangers.

Konami will get there some things will take time but they will, I too am looking for edit mode to grow.

I play PES2019 tomorrow (at Glasgow) and I'll log on here talk about the game

Most people are just lazy like that.
Those friends of mine who have a PS4 haven't even tried PES 2017, much less PES 2018.
The first thing that comes up when you tell them to at least try it, is the licenses. And they are my age too! They aren't FUT kids. They play FIFA. Either online or offline. And when I tell them how easy it is to get PES all licensed and looking even more beautiful than FIFA, they look surprised. Like they never knew it was possible (so... that's Konami's fault too for the little advertising and publicity on this possibility the game has had for a long time now!). But then (my friends) they don't bother doing it. Because they don't want to waste their little free time on reading tutorials, downloading, copying files, importing, etc.

So let's face it, Konami are their own enemies.
They could very well have a Multi-Platform Online System that's WITHIN the game that would let you search and download any type of content (and the game could automatically import whatever you download) right there! From the game! Like a download centre. We've seen that in other games! FIGHT NIGHT for example. Or that Tennis game that was posted in this very thread weeks ago.

That way they wouldn't have to think about spending money on licenses ever again.
Gimme an all-around Editor, including Stadium Editor AND the possibility to load files that were created on a PC (faces, etc) too! And just focus on the gameplay, game modes, graphics.

PES 2015 was fantastic because it was the beginning of something new. SIM was actually competitive.
PES 2016/17/18 were okay but have failed to deliver the level of advancement I would have expected.

If I am in the dev team I have to allocate resources - aesthetics/licences/gameplay/stats/servers.
Aesthetics, licenses (legends, Usain Bolt, etc) and stats seem to be the priority.
Plus there was some issue last year with Maradona so not sure what effect that is having on speed of advancement.

If I was a dev and wanted to smash EA up, I'd be making fans know that I'm listening and rather than release PES 2019, smash it out the park and say : guys we are sticking with PES 2018 but we've concetrated on stats and how they work on the field.

Stadia and aesthetics mean jack all to me. Its what made games like sensi what they were - no graphics but sweet fun gameplay
