A member here mentioned something about their FK average in PES 2018 being 0.9 I think a few days ago (or more). Mine is currently at 1.14.

Pk average 0.01.

Lol.

I'm hoping this is better in 2019.

I am the same, one penalty since i got the game last September, we all should screen shoot the stats and post it Konami

Average fouls committed by CPU in my total matches is about 1,5. That is way too low.

There are some 3 or 4 fouls matches, but it's mostly 1 or 2. Also there are some 0 fouls matches.

Not really been reading anything in here because I enjoy 18 and don't want 19s flaws pointed out to me...starting to get itchy feet for the demo. After watching a few videos it's got to the point in the year where I can no longer play 2018 and I'm desperate for a fix.

Appreciate plenty of you can't enjoy the game in its current form, luckily for me I can and haven't been able enjoy FIFA at all since 16. However, seeing the upgrade in graphics, shooting improvements and how much more free the games looks, 18 now feels empty.

Roll on demo date.

I start to worry a lot about the movements of the players. For some reason, the smooth transitions of animation to animation from PES 2018 are gone. Some of the players' moves look chunky, cut, buggy, robotic and ugly as FIFA. From E3 videos I told my self " OK its early build they can fix it" but now just days before a demo, the videos from this Press events and new builds... looks bad too.

I think they are even better than Pes 2018 instead, lots of microanimations added too. Probably you watched 30 fps videos, but 60 fps gives you the real feeling of smoothness of the game. They also improved the players sliding all over the pitch, you can notice this when there are slow motion replays. There is still a bit of sliding feeling but nowhere near as noticeable as it was with the E3 build.

I don't think they should just change menu in 2020. 2020, as radical as it sounds, should be the mark of a new era by bringing in new engine entirely dedicated for a football game.

Two simple things prevent me from enjoying PES.

Offline- No 'newgens' in Master League.
Online- Passing/shooting assistance levels.

Master League has to include 'newgens' in order to be a viable gamemode. It is pathetic that a 16yo Zlatan Ibrahmiovic can appear in your youth team after 1 season. You don't need to make a signing.

As for online, it is impossible to find an all manual opponent, and playing against people who play full assisted or even semi assisted controls is a MAJOR disadvantage and just kills the enjoyment.

These two fundamental issues need to be addressed.

long time no see, how you doing?

in the meantime watching @103SpooKy video's playing on PA1 has me impressed with what I've seen.
and I have the comfort of knowing that I'm only days away from getting hands on in Glasgow.

I've been thinking of making a player generator just to show em how it's done. I have it all in my mind, but don't feel like making it. Maybe I'll give it a shot later today.

I'm really sick and tired of hearing excuses that they don't have enough manpower and budget to put into making the game better overall. They're still a multi million company that makes tens if not hundreds of millions every year.
How can't they have a bigger dev team or manpower in general with all that money?
Are they paying millions every month for salary to every dev so they can't afford others?I don't think so.
It's just a choice. They choose to not invest more and they want to make the biggest profit possible from the smallest investement possible and it's a model that works for them until now at least. It's not that they can't invest more if they want. And even worse, they spend money that could go to make ML better etc,to things like Bolt or Beckham..
Like who the fuck wants to play in the year 2019 with a 45 year old Beckham?
15 year olds today probably don't even know who he is neither all these legends fantasy football shit.
They're recruiting random people around the world to make player and team stats for them with an exchange of 200$ and a free copy of the game lol.If this is not cheap amateurish moves then i don't know what is.

I agree with vialli82 that Pes was never a sim game.Yeah it may had more fouls and tactics worked better but it always was more towards a fast paced action fun arcady rocket shot gameplay than a more slow and sim like.At least now it's more into sim movement and animation wise although it has issues with stuff like fouls and tactics and position.
The only one which truly tried to go to sim at least in terms of movement and physics was 14.And we saw how people welcomed that...For me it was amazing for the time it came although it had issues but still i felt generous that finally someone tried to bring a football game to the next level in terms of sim and realism.I haven't played it in years now but i still remember it as one of my few favorites.
Take Virtua Striker for example. It had a pathetic AI with defenders running forward most of the time instead of marking you,but it had great ball physics and feel of weight and animations for it's time and i remember spending all my money on it as a kid somewhere around 97-99 in it's arcade machine where you put coins to play.I really loved it then.

Today's generation don't want depth and substance. It's considered boring. They want mumble rap songs where a tattoo-faced multi coloured hair mongoloid repeats the same 5 words for all the fucking song and chubby bitches twerking and shallow cgi action hero movies full of special effects and explosions.
This mentality transfers also to video games. They want convenience and fun as fast as possible without having to try or think a lot.

To be able to enjoy Pes today you have to take it for what it is.A graphically beautiful simcade that offers some realism in terms of movement and animations and physics most of the time and is fun and challenging if you play it with some settings that suits you like speed, assistance etc,but it also comes with it's annoyances like few fouls and more end to end than it should be etc but that's just how people today want it,so it is what it is.
With this mindset i was able to at least enjoy to a degree playing Pes 18 athough i spent most of the time with it playing Exhibition matches and didn't even complete one full season on ML because of it's poorness and because i was playing some other video games also.19 can't be any worse than that.Instead it will be better in some aspects so i think i'll find a way to enjoy that also.

As for poor presentation and all that comes with it like menus, scoreboards etc,it's not even a case of limited budget or something. It's just a case of very bad taste and zero creativity.
They always had ugly menus, scoreboards, that pathetic signature balls and generic boots and 50's 60's balls (like..really??) etc..
Even their main logo and fonts and stuff look super outdated and non professional.
Just thinking about all that..man..this fucking company is a shambles lol.Just look what they did with Metal Gear and Silent Hill..The only thing that gives a glimpse of hope is that they're hiring new staff for the future and maybe that along with a new engine and next gen of gaming will bring us something really evolutionised. One can always hope..

Having said all that..I'm still looking forward to the demo and the game lol.

Of course Konami have enough money to employ more an more people... But it's only that they don't risk to invest too much for PES production. You're totally right: that's a choice from the headquarter.

PES production is a branch of Konami, which needs to do with the annual budget allowed, relative to their annual sells, that's all i say... It's not an excuse, it's a fact. Konami is not really the "team" who makes PES, and they can't invest the same amount of money as Fifa for example which sells pratically 7x more years after years.

Btw i agree with all you've said, (Virtua Striker 2 was really fun btw, and looked "realistic" at the time for an arcade game... I've got it on Dreamcast) and also presentation...
I personnally think it's more related to bad taste... They want to make the game looking the more sober as possible, like FM basic skin. But in FM have a big community and it's a "PC only" game, and the possibility to add a new skin, that's why SI keeps the same skin since about 10 years. But for PS4 owner, you need to deal with it for an entire year.

Btw i've said that i don't find the menu's presentation that upper ugly, i'm more focused on the fast/fluidity when you navigate on it... I don't want lag and little loading time like in Fifa.
For editing that's upper important, and i make it all the year.
But the color... Grey menus are so sad like a bad wheater, they could at least gives up two or three different skins, more enthusiathic. Fresh, with different fonts. I'd rather prefer a simple white menu.

Saying that, now about presentation on a match, that's another story and that's very important for the immersion.

You're just assuming stuff. Just because something's happening, doesn't neccessarily means it's liked by the current gen.

People tend to forget quite easily that Pes 2014 had no rain, poor and dull ML, poor presentation, a small number of licenses, and generally it was the most unpolished product they probably ever came out with in a lot of other aspects, even worse than Pes 2008 for PC or at least on par with it. Yet it's passing the message that it was poorly received because it had some heavy simulative element like the collisions or the inertia. I'm all for simulation myself, yet I couldn't play it long as all in all the content there was so scarce it felt like a tech demo or something.

To me it seems evident that the main problem was that the product was rushed and not well finished at all. Then, that a faster and simpler game was better for the online crowd that's something they surely decided and adapted later as philosophy, but I'd put my hand on fire that if Pes 2014 was at least decently polished, and not the general mess it was, it wouldn't have ended like that at all sell wise.

Lol man, slow down there. You are describing Captain Tsubasa on Snes and Psx , while it frankly wasn't the case. Old Pes weren't a pure simulation but again, which football game has ever been? They still had ton of depth in the gameplay and more than a bunch of simulative elements. Stats genuinely interacted between them, in a certain sense Pes was is own reductive simulation of football. That it wasn't perfectly faithful to reality, well it's a given, but technology and marketing wouldn't have permitted it anyway.
Still, Virtua Striker and the such were just in another league.

Animations are beautiful nowadays, but without solid gameplay for me aren't simply enough. If I had to play a game only because it has "simulative" animations I'd rather watch true highlights of real matches. But to each his own, of course.

Tbh having only two football games catering for the same crowd and one of them hogging the important licenses isn’t an inducation of the customer type, It’s just all what we get sadly.

Football manager is the only management game as well, The football gaming market is dead and there’s no competition or variety anymore.

And when a company like Konami ignores simple gameplay feedback requests for years ( broadcast cam zoom,Stadium editor,Replay cam higher angle...etc) or just blatantly lies about them in events, Then you know exactly why they do it and that despite all their PR moves, They’re not gonna change anything at all and that’s the truth.

They broke the game,The community,Their credibility and alienated so many key contributors with their attitude.

The regens issue is a total disgrace for example and non of the guys attending the events can mention it in fear of being cut off !

Yeah that was me Lami, my pk is 0.01 too! I actually feel like I've been winning more free kicks in the last few months which means that for the first 6 months I barely won a foul!

And while I'm here I just want to vent and say that I really, really hate those high balls that the cpu plays out to the wing from the middle of the pitch to very advanced wingers. Maybe I'm ignoring times that it does happen irl but I feel it just looks ridiculous. I'm pretty sure it was only introduced in the last few years and it leaves me despairing about who's in charge of programming this game.

Example - 1.25 in this vid -

That empty feeling is what many of us feel from day one. :)

I'm looking forward to the demo more than any other year in recent memory it has to be said, but the jury is still firmly out on whether this will have any longevity for me. Offline could be ruined by the basic and limited AI (playing deep defensive line the entire game even when one man up, I mean really), that still has many of the old issues like spamming aerial through balls/backheels/passing like its on PA5, and then online is a dumpster fire of assistance and scripting.

My fan trailer made from footage I recorded on the 5 hour press day

Great editing mate very talented.

I see so much wrong with the keepers its annoying me why do they say so stuck to the line again. The angle of Salahs goals is the same easy goal inside 8-10 yards the keeper may as well not be there.

How did you find them I am happy to eat humble pie but online people dont play like us old school Pes players so I can see already online is gonna be a Real and Barca tissue fest of pace and slide goal nonsense.

But having my first gaming PC cant wait to try the demo and hopefully the clock glitch which comes out each year to add more time and hopefully more teams.

Nice work man. Unfortuantely for me, even your masterpiece videos don't get me excited for PES based on what I've seen so far and played in recent years. On the other hand, I can watch one minute of a fuzzy PES 5 gameplay video and get a woody.

My versus COM stats on 2018 from 370 matches; FK AVG 0.61 and Penalty AVG at 0.01. That's a strange intepretation of football I've been playing there. I'm not expecting any difference in 2019 tbh.

Sorry Daniel, but I don't follow PES forums as closely as I used to. I believe that you work with Konami, in some sort of community role? Also, what is happening on Thursday?

Appreciate the heads up anyway, I look forward to hearing what you will say.
