Who will be representing the 'community' in Glasgow?

I'll be there in Glasgow looking forward to it, because after talking on twitter to some of the guys who played the game today in Germany, I'm excited to see what why they are impressed with what they've played

What are their take on passing? If they where happy with PA1 and above in PES 2018 i don't feel that you need to answer my question though...

Just this minute got a private message (on twitter and it's a long message) but here's a copy of the passing answer

"Yeah only played on PA1 and I was shit with the passing compared to PES2018"

anyway now looking forward to Glasgow

Maybe because they are sheep and enjoy anything Konami puts out. I don’t see how they didn’t notice the difference in pace or the obvious more assisted settings this round. Maybe that’s what they want, they like end to end games. I just watched a lot of games and the amount of goals is much higher than the E3 build. I even notice less animations. There shouldn’t be an E3 build if it has no indication of what we actually get to play. They are also getting feedback from people that play on pass assist 3 and I’m looking at those playing in PES league tournaments. They are clearly the ones that Konami are listening to, and are the ones ruining the game.

I think a big part of it is feedback actually! The crowd here always and live by simulation to our level of ability but the fast paced action arcade crowd do not use forums anymore. They don't have the attention span to even read a post like yours of even a quarter of what i say and these people want the fast paced action. We are the chalk to their cheese, this is what's important i feel is we are sim people need to be very defined in what we want becuase its clear none of us want an ping pong fest but we could all agree upon principle of a simulation mode for example.

The sad this is Barry was concerned about the feedback at this years E3 and the sheer amount of people who play on Pass Assist 3. He did comment on how bad some of the feedback was from many who didn't like how difficult it was to pass with the E3 code so your seeing today especially with again many of these people who do anything to play a game early stick it straight on pass assist 3 and want fast paced action. What i find interesting is that there are some people who are 'ashamed' of playing on pass assist 3 and never admit to it which is sad. This is another issue we need to look at.

16:03 match start

Watching all the footage today the big difference from E3 to the demo code is the added assistance for the Assisted passing especially pass assist 3 which was sadly a complaint from a number of people at E3. its changed everything because from what i can see its basically the same as the E3 code, maybe refined a bit more but what they have changed is now added very simple easy passing. Noticed the number of goals which happen becuase of failed ping pong clearances. All the animations and physics seem to be built to have a real proper football game and the passing just says Nahhh WHHOOOOSSHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! pass, pass, pass GOOOALLLLL.

As a mainly offline player I'm still convinced the game will be quality when on manual at least or probably Pass assist 1 since its clear many of these videos are played on pass assist 3 with players trying to play exactly as they do in PES League. Online though once again i will give it a miss this year, maybe might try co-op but this win at all costs nonsense can stop if they enforce passing to be harder.

That’s interesting Klash because at E3 last year everyone there I spoke with gushin over it and was telling Konami not to change anything so maybe the feedback was different this time around. I dunno man I honestly don’t think it’s feedback because Asim wouldn’t send to Konami “make it more assisted”. However, I’m also looking at this from a narrow lense. Probably is naive. We don’t know what South America and Asia is feeding back

@PES94 Our PvP games in Gelsenkirchen were mostly 0-0 results. Against Superstar difficulty the highest scoring result was a 2-2 (Barcelona vs Liverpool). We also took a walk around the venue at one point and on nearly every single monitor it said 0-0. Personally I didn't see a great amount of goals .. Maybe all German and Dutch players that were there are just awful at the game.

btw. Matthias Winkler mainly played manual passes

@Thespeedster84 Still feels like PA5. Endless short passing game where you guess every single next pass but you can't intercept it. I didn't see that many inch-perfect 50m passes though.

Well I have been playing PES 2018 for over 1800 hours, we play Co-op a lot and we are so bored of winning (Not to brag or something, thats literally why we stopped playing it lately) And we played on full PES2018 mode. But the shooting was so different and way harder. The passing, the first touches. We just could not get that ball in from time to time

I hear ya but I'm wondering if it's the way the videos appear and play out on youtube compared to playing the game with a pad in front of a TV.

the lads going to Glasgow I would't say they are sheep, there good guys and want a great PES game like you.

yes lads I'll get to play this game next week at Glasgow, fif you both like what you played today?

Not sure why my previous post was deleted, I suppose someone took my reference to "peace and harmony types" as a personal insult. A certain crystalline structure springs to mind.

Although like many I hate the modern Twitter outrage mob culture, one thing it has shown is that a particularly loud minority group can be very good at getting what they want. We don't even try. What annoys me is not even so much the loss of yet another potentially decent footy game, it's the fact these dimwit "journalists" and mouth-breathers who play the game early are successfully getting games dumbed down to match their barely detectable cognitive capacity, at the expense of everyone who actually wants their experience to involve some level of thought and consideration.

Trust me, i tried, we tried. We are loud on twitter. Remember when Asim complained about us, they received the message. It's not just playtests feedback, it's also that Konami feels and thinks they are doing a good job because sales are increasing, more and more people are playing Myclub, there is more people happy with the actual gameplay.

The best we can do is ask them to add sliders so that people that want can tweak offline experience if they want, but i don't think they will make a more simulative gameplay and risk to alienate the rest of fanbase just because a tiny minority of their fanbase asks for that.

Hi to everyone.

Always followed this forum but never posted. Had to register just to comment on "passing" topic.

I don't understand one thing, if most people wan't ping pong, assisted pasing, why Konami doesn't make PA2 a default, and give us, who want more challenge, a choice with PA1. It's simple and it will be good for everyone.

10 likes from me on that!

..but on the flipside why would you overhit it like that? its not hard not to overhit a shot or pass in PES nowdays. this only works if Robbie Carlos can score with the same powerbar from the same distance

yes lads I'll get to play this game next week at Glasgow, fif you both like what you played today?

+ CPU playing more vertically and more variable. Not just running down the wing, feinting/stopping and then crossing
+ CPU pressing more aggressively. Naldo is unreal. Leaving his position in the back three to intercept at opponent's trap.
+ defensive midfielders filling positions for missing CBs automatically
+ visible fatigue affecting playing style in late game. For Liverpool I always had to change my formation and style of play drastically.
+ more realistic outcomes for crosses and deflected balls. When you press pass or clear but the ball isn't in range your player still jumps and misses the ball. In these days it's more common that your player gets magically attracted to the ball or does no animation whatsoever. Now you need movement to the ball and a better timing. So that's definitely an improvement.
+ Stadium atmosphere. As a Schalke fan I can't skip that one

- CPU Pass Assistance
- Missing CPU fouls and cards in general
- way too many inch-perfect backheels
- no new cameras or enhanced settings for the presets

(- change of controller settings after every single game. Ofc that won't stay in the full game but it's annoying if it's also in the Demo)

There's a probably a lot more to add on both sides but I need sleep now.

Conclusion: I played worse games :D

Yeah, i noticed that at the end of matches it seems like teams can't think so quick anymore, there is a bit more confusion.

But, again, the same guy that said is extremely happy with the way the game is now (because it's quicker and less realistic) didn't like the stamina being so important. He said the effect is too visible. The most visible realistic element he wants them to "fix" it.

He calls himself a longtime Pes fan, too. This is the kind of people Konami has to please because they are the majority and sadly they won't listen to us.

The backheels I just can't comprehend. Surely every single person that plays PES would agree that there are too many, they are too accurate and it's not in the slightest bit realistic. If they can't/won't even change the gameplay to stop this from happening, how can anyone have any belief that they will make any other obvious positive changes.

I'm sure they have, and I'm sure there's plenty of improvements but it's so hard to look past, it's even worse than the acceptance of the lack of penalties

Backheels agree, its not as if its enabled as a controller skill, its simply dead easy in a repetitive way.

It makes it a toy not a game.

@Chris Davies the vid I want to upload doesn’t have the right extension. You try and upload it if you can lol

Been keeping up on today’s events. Was going to post a gif on twitter of a Konami Brittany Spears “Oops! I did it again!” but then I realized I don’t even feel like talking about PES anymore today on my twitter timeline.

It’s pretty obvious from the naked eye the differences in code IMO. Will this be now 6 years in a row the game as changed? Thing is, I don’t believe it’s feedback at all. I am 99.9% sure Asim isn’t feeding back to Japan “They want more assisted passing!”

Konami really needs to look at not showing the game early on. The reality is they show off a game that doesn’t have all its core mechanics optimized. So we think “yes they made the players heavier and turn more realistic and they made passing less assisted this is great I love the direction Konami is headed!” Except that’s not their intent or direction. They just aren’t done finishing those elements to make them how they want. Which is what we have seen year after year in the final product. This is a game geared to e-sports, to end to end action. There is literally no midfield. Last year, ppl heard from me and Jose and Nestor who played it at E3 but a lot of people ignored us saying we were delusional and jaded. Now everyone gets to see first hand the changes in code. I’m not surprised and I’m not laughing either. Ok I laughed for about 5 seconds but it sucks it is what it is. I think FIFA gives like-minded footy gamers such as myself the best hope for a decent sim offline because of sliders but we have to accept these are how the games are made now and we are not the intended audience so we either adapt or go play something else. I can adapt more to fifa as I think it just offers more but in the end it’s still fifa.

Long live Winning Eleven 7 International!

In a nutshell, the "competitive scenario" is killing the Football/Soccer (as you wish) games. Its sad but true. The main playerbase just want to win, doesnt matter how. I stopped buying/playing Fifa online because of that, and as i can see now, PES is trying to go to the same direction, unfornately. Ultimate Team and PES League are quite the same thing related to "running" and "passing" (one touch)...
