PES 2019 News Discussion Thread (INSULTS/DIGS = INSTANT BAN)

I'm really fucking hoping that all the perfect passing bullshit is just PA3 knobs playing the game. But I'm definitely not confident that's the main cause. Wait and see.

Side note: does the shooting look easier too? At E3, MidniteKid was routinely spaffing it into Row Z. Now it looks like every shot is on target...

The bigger problem - surely - are the reports on Twitter from several sources that the latest build is much more assisted on the default settings. @B-Man sent me a little clip earlier of a perfect pass from a ridiculous body position that I hope he shares on here - it's just one of those things that makes you go "they have a direction and they're sticking to it".

I'm so disappointed with this news! When I saw the first vid today of Argentina vs France I thought to myself "ok, maybe they are just playing on PA2/3", but then it's reported that it's more assisted on PA1.
I wouldn't even say that it's about Konami sticking to a direction, seems more like they have a direction (E3 vids and game description on web site saying pass/shots being dependent on body position etc.) and then chaging it with play test feedback.

It's unbelievable that they keep doing this - not at all excited about this game any more:CRY:

the ball is constantly in the final 3rd from what ive seen. this is something i can not unseen after i could set up FIFA 17 to have proper midfield battle based on team tactics. but here every player have so much space around him that its easy to walk up to the box with anyone

and yes...its a backheel galore, the players exploited that really much

I'm actually glad they've done this. If you had dynamic done properly, then with the game time sped up in 10 minute matches, you would literally see the shadows move across the pitch as you play and would be very distracting. Starting off with sunset in first half, then moving into night for the second is fine with me
What if lighting is adjusted according to the current match time each time the ball goes out of bounds?

Cheap goals, cheap passing, poor defending, cheap animation, cheap goal celebrations, cheap lighting, cheap menu, cheap audio, and so on..
The only thing not cheap here is the price of the game..

I'm looking forward to the 50% off!:LOL::DD

SiuMing (小明) Retweeted TEM FUTEBOL ⚽️

According to Kei Masuda (PES producer) explained the dynamic weather that the weather will only be changed after half time in PES 2019.

:LMAO::LMAO::LMAO:

What a joke. Fox engine my arse!
This is what I'm expecting from the very start. A very cheap dynamic lighting implementation, just like their snow and rain.

When was the last time PES implemented an impressive feature?
They're just putting/renaming cheap additions to the game and calling it with gimmicky names.

We'll see in few days how much they increased assistance and if it's more or less assisted than Pes 2018. These videos come from the August 8th demo.

@Chris Davies the vid I want to upload doesn’t have the right extension. You try and upload it if you can lol

Been keeping up on today’s events. Was going to post a gif on twitter of a Konami Brittany Spears “Oops! I did it again!” but then I realized I don’t even feel like talking about PES anymore today on my twitter timeline.

It’s pretty obvious from the naked eye the differences in code IMO. Will this be now 6 years in a row the game as changed? Thing is, I don’t believe it’s feedback at all. I am 99.9% sure Asim isn’t feeding back to Japan “They want more assisted passing!”

Konami really needs to look at not showing the game early on. The reality is they show off a game that doesn’t have all its core mechanics optimized. So we think “yes they made the players heavier and turn more realistic and they made passing less assisted this is great I love the direction Konami is headed!” Except that’s not their intent or direction. They just aren’t done finishing those elements to make them how they want. Which is what we have seen year after year in the final product. This is a game geared to e-sports, to end to end action. There is literally no midfield. Last year, ppl heard from me and Jose and Nestor who played it at E3 but a lot of people ignored us saying we were delusional and jaded. Now everyone gets to see first hand the changes in code. I’m not surprised and I’m not laughing either. Ok I laughed for about 5 seconds but it sucks it is what it is. I think FIFA gives like-minded footy gamers such as myself the best hope for a decent sim offline because of sliders but we have to accept these are how the games are made now and we are not the intended audience so we either adapt or go play something else. I can adapt more to fifa as I think it just offers more but in the end it’s still fifa.

Long live Winning Eleven 7 International!

I was going to count up the number of first-time, pixel-perfect backheels in that demo match but my apathy made me lose count.

The feeling I now have towards PES is reminiscent of that period around 10 years ago when the quality of the game nose-dived in the move to next-gen consoles. It was a case of download demo, play half a match, uninstall demo and hope it improves next year.

The quality is nose-diving again but this time it's because of Konami's deliberate pursuit of high-speed, ping-pongy, arcade gameplay that lacks realism, strategic depth and where player stats mean next to nothing. I'll try the demo but I don't know if I genuinely have hope that this game will improve in a meaningful way ever again.

Interesting perspective B, that it might just be developers not being done with tweaking the game. I don't know though, they do have this description on their web site:

"Improvements have been made to make the movement of the ball more natural and varied. The trajectory of the ball is now based on posture and how the ball was kicked."

This showed to some extend on E3 code and is now almost gone, shown by all the backheels and ping pong passes. Same story with beta vs full game last year. Seems to me they either intentionally because of feedback or unintentionally because of smoothing out the game's bugs and responsetimes f**k this up year on year.

Edit: either way, they don't stick to the direction stated on their own web site!

Yea, same with the "dynamic rain" in PES 2018, it always started with beginning the second half.
No.I've seen rain starting after scoring or conceding a goal and it could be the 25 minute or whatever.
Not always with beginning of second half.

Lol, I can post at least 50 videos of this happening.
Well if you can post AT LEAST 50 videos of this happening then i guess all we who were complaining about no injuries in this game we're all crazy and won't admit that we have many injuries for some reason.

This only happens when you're controlling only 1 player, i.e., fixed cursor.
Also, why the semi-aggressive tone? You need a vacation pal. You seem to be stressed out by some stuff.

I have tried to be more subjective this year after getting my wings and press accreditation clipped by konami but the game looks the same soulless wonder it has been for 7 or so years.

Seen to many of the same poor keeper diving in slow motion 1 on 1 situations, it’s always an easy slide rule goal this has never been addressed for 6 years now.

Defenders animations are slower than the attackers especially stat heavy star players like Ronaldo and Messi so animation clipping is still a problem.

One of the soft goals above when an easy lofted shot is pushed into an attacker. So unrealistic and frustrating.

I don’t care if it’s being played on amateur or whatever excuse we’re gonna get and ‘wait for the demo’ which we will then get ‘wait for retail’

All the same talk of ‘respect’ ‘communication in the right way’ nonsense when people make genuine obvious concerns is why Konami and the social media channels get so much stick we are adults so treat us with respect and stop saying the forums are a ‘minority’ ‘not what the majority want’

I am typing nothing above that we all haven’t said over the last few years but again it looks like the same old same old.

Let the PR firefighting begin

Well you should have said from the beginning that it only happens only under some specific situation and not present it like it massively happens in normal gameplay all the time when you control the whole team because it doesn't.
No any aggressive tone. It's just that when i haven't seen either 1 injury from all the games i played and i read from numerous people saying that they also don't see any injuries, and then seeing something like ''it happens all the time'' and ''i have 50 videos'' looks like complete exaggeration.
Also you're right..i could use a little vacation.:DRUNK:

I think a big part of it is feedback actually! The crowd here always and live by simulation to our level of ability but the fast paced action arcade crowd do not use forums anymore. They don't have the attention span to even read a post like yours of even a quarter of what i say and these people want the fast paced action. We are the chalk to their cheese, this is what's important i feel is we are sim people need to be very defined in what we want becuase its clear none of us want an ping pong fest but we could all agree upon principle of a simulation mode for example.

The sad this is Barry was concerned about the feedback at this years E3 and the sheer amount of people who play on Pass Assist 3. He did comment on how bad some of the feedback was from many who didn't like how difficult it was to pass with the E3 code so your seeing today especially with again many of these people who do anything to play a game early stick it straight on pass assist 3 and want fast paced action. What i find interesting is that there are some people who are 'ashamed' of playing on pass assist 3 and never admit to it which is sad. This is another issue we need to look at.

16:03 match start

Watching all the footage today the big difference from E3 to the demo code is the added assistance for the Assisted passing especially pass assist 3 which was sadly a complaint from a number of people at E3. its changed everything because from what i can see its basically the same as the E3 code, maybe refined a bit more but what they have changed is now added very simple easy passing. Noticed the number of goals which happen becuase of failed ping pong clearances. All the animations and physics seem to be built to have a real proper football game and the passing just says Nahhh WHHOOOOSSHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! pass, pass, pass GOOOALLLLL.

As a mainly offline player I'm still convinced the game will be quality when on manual at least or probably Pass assist 1 since its clear many of these videos are played on pass assist 3 with players trying to play exactly as they do in PES League. Online though once again i will give it a miss this year, maybe might try co-op but this win at all costs nonsense can stop if they enforce passing to be harder.

I did my best for you. Pretty crappy, but.

If you can see it given how poor the quality is... Check out the body positioning of the passer in the middle of the pitch, and how he still manages to execute an absolutely perfect pass, with power, having barely moved his kicking leg.

I'm frustrated. Or so to speak.
I know it's just a game. And yeah, I have a life outside of PES.
But dammit... we wait for a whole year to get a new football game. We wait a whole year for two or three annoyances/issues to be addressed and fixed, plus two or three new features that may add a lot to the game. We don't ask for TOO MUCH. Yet they persistently seem to crush our opinions and expectations. And the worst thing is they end up not satisfying ANY of the parties involved. Old WE/PES lovers are clearly angry. Esports lovers are mad because of the licenses. Kids prefer FIFA, they will never even try PES.

Yeah I've got to admit, I'm with you here. I don't really care about the simulation level of the lighting. If you say you're no longer buying the game based on the angles of light in it, then... I mean, if that's the kind of thing you crave in a game, why on earth would you buy PES? When has PES been about presentation?

Chris,
It's not about 'THE LIGHTING'. It's about false and misleading advertising of features or making bold statements about gameplay that don't stand the pass of time (not even 2 months). It's about respecting us as customers and as fans of the saga. It's about respecting ourselves, not letting them fool us year after year.
-"There's no time to change it!" said Adam to @B-Man about the great gameplay we were seeing at E3.
-"It works and looks just like in the trailer" said Asim to me on Twitter two months ago, related to Dynamic Lighting. So, the trailer was Real time changing position of the sun, and so shadows would move and different tones would affect the pitch, the players, etc.

It's not about the lighting. I'm surprised you would even depict it that way, my friend.
It's about misleading. It's about not giving us the features we were presented. It's about taking the money of those who pre-order it and then not giving them what they paid for. It's about so many things...

Aha. AHAAAAAA!!!!
Just droping by here... gone for weeks... leaving your awesome comments... collecting all the likes... big pimpin’n’such... :LMAO:
Glad you’re back! Community gotta be strong!! :SAL:

I’m gonna reread it all over again.comment later. Have a good night!

People are sending the message that they like what Konami is doing every year. Actually it's not just playtest feedback, even players are mostly happy to buy the game year after year and KONAMI will never try to make it a more simulative game, because this right here is what people want.

I'm a manual player so I'll give it a go but I had hopes for PA1 to be a perfect balance between user input and stats and glimpses of the passing from E3 was promising but this just seems sad.

I love Online Divisions on manual with like mindre people but are not that many so the matches are far apart sometimes.

For the first time in a very long time I might give this years game a pass.
