PES 2019 News Discussion Thread (INSULTS/DIGS = INSTANT BAN)

I cant see backheels as a specific problem/negative point in this video. There were a lot of moments that the player didnt use a backheel pass that would be certainly used in PES2018. We cant see this kind of passes as a bad thing when used properly, because its part of the sport. If the AI doesnt use it in every f* play i will be satisfied haha

Backheels pre PES 2014 satisfy me. Personal taste. As backheel is one of the hardest pass and i think back in the day it was presented well.

I know Myclub isn't loved by the entire community but for those that enjoy the mode, is there much there to do offline? Any news on what modes exist on PES 2019 Myclub offline?
Absolutely loads to do for offline.

You'll get 2 whole, that's 2 whole competitions to play from day 1 to day 365. 4 games in each. They don't change, and they don't reset once you've completed them and get the initial rewards. After that you earn pennies. But like I said... 2 whole competitions for an entire year!

Each week they'll also add in a new comp to complete for a 'free' player. Usually they'll consist of 2 games, but if Konami are feeling generous you might get a 3rd. :WOOT:

That's it. 8 games on day 1, then 2-3 games per week. They clearly work their asses off to give us those.
Btw, in true Konami logic fashion, the comps are usually upside down. Meaning you'll get the toughest team (eg. Real Madrid, PSG) first on the easier difficulty (Pro), then the weaker team on Top Player/Superstar in the final.
Credit where credit is due, takes a lot of of effort to consistently f' up the simplest things. :COAT:
Oh, you can also play exhibition matches against other user teams (usually their default starter teams). After you win 20 odd games on the easiest difficulty it'll move up. If that sounds boring, which it is, you could always play Coach Mode! Press play and watch an entire AI vs AI match. Awesome.

Compare that to the bazillion offline games & comps in FUT.

I told you i hadnt seen any negative backheel, but in the second half are some of them very awful and not necessary haha. As i said, hope the AI doesnt "overuse" it.

They will fix it in the November dlc

At Glasgow we were told the celtic players were rescanned and Asim turned the slide over to show the new scans and Scott Brown looks bang on, I did type it straight away here on my Ipad whilst I was listening to the presentation.

The Celtic fans clapped when they saw a much better Scott Brown

Wouldn't bother me as much if they looked right too. In real life backheels mostly have some bobble or spin because it's hard to hit it exactly like you would a normal pass when using your heel to generate the power, in PES this is not replicated at all, the backheels look like normal passes: accurate, fast and dead flat. It's such an ugly wart on this game's visual realism

Yeah, I'm pretty sure someone said on the stream that they had scanned them that morning.

Thanks for your insight. FUT has squad battles and offline seasons. Netithe are particularly compelling after a while but sounds like a better offering. I'll probably spendy time in master league this year, bored of FIFA's gameplay now.

Im pretty sure it is. When i want to cross i need to press LT, i dont know if its "placebo" but i feel the crossing with more freedom.
Definitely not a placebo. It's really broken.
Sometimes, you don't know exactly where it is going. Sometimes, it's too assisted specially on early cross.
Just like you, been pressing LT each time I cross to make it manual.
I've tweeted officialpes twice about this before PES2017 and PES2018. Replied to me twice and said they'll look into it.

The thing is I play with a regular human opponent. We're basically the same skill level and use 0-pass assist. He is really good at finding exploits in the game while I play more realistic. I can't force him to press LT each time he cross(that's a lot of adjustment for his part), so I'm in a disadvantage. He's been scoring a lot of cheap goals from early crosses and I don't want to counter him by scoring those same goals. What's the point. LOL

Fortunately, I found this app called "XInputPlus-Ver4.15". I can set it up so that "LT/L2 button" is activated each time "circle/B button" is pressed. I set it up to both our PC so it's even now in terms of crossing.

The problem (one of them anyway) is that there's still a weird element of the basic passing auto-crossing in some places on the pitch and it's difficult to know the threshold.

Playing fixed cursor you really see how much the game struggles with manual. I play often with a friend and we have so many moments where our teammates ignore passes and we get dragged towards balls which are miles away. In certain instances I can hardly blame konami though, it's nearly an impossible task to program and it's definitely not a priority for them, which, for me and my mates is a shame.

Yup, sometime teammates(defenders) don't know who's the one should get(or intercept) the pass.
Common sense is the one who's closest or the one who's facing the ball.

How many times have we made a pass towards the penalty box, then the defenders are like afraid of the ball and won't intercept it..
and then the one player you didn't intend the pass to get to, received the ball for an easy goal.

- backheels
- open spaces around players
- end to end
- very accurate no look passess with anyone
- shooting most of the time is still spot on with anyone
- op freekicks
+ fouls
+ penalty
+ nice dribbles with the likes of Messi
+ animations
+ graphics
[/QUOTE]
I believe the amount of backheels & end to end gameplay is just a reflection le how the players played. They wanted to sprint towards opposite goal all the time and play 2-3 passes to do so
The penalty i wouldnt count since it was player vs player
Other thing i liked was the erratic shooting, in some instances it seemed than the player (in pes18) would have rocketed the ball, but instead they made poor shots due to the momentum

Cannot wait to test it myself

If real footballers have very accurate backheel/one touch passes/normal pass, Godly trapping skills plus bad defensive positioning from the defenders... There's a good chance a real football match will look exactly like PES.

What's the point of slow build up if end-to-end is so easy to do?

Because.
All the free time that will be spent in playing the demo, is now being spent in talking, theorizing, criticizing, asking, debating, etc. Nah mean?
Well, I'd rather spend it in peace, especially knowing not much left now, well one more day. Then do all the above after I've experienced it myself.

Well, the PES tour is now over as the Brazil event has just finished. Just waiting for the final league/team/stadium list now.

One thing I must say though: I was watching the Carabao Cup finals yesterday and inevitably I thought how good the turf looks in PES 2019. Specially in the day / afternoon type of lighting (Not so good at night-time IMHO).
The Chilean trailer showed a different mow-pattern style with thicker horizontal line and it looked amazing.
Colors seem spot on too.

If I was to get a little nitpicky perhaps I would like to see it getting worn out, damaged, etc as players slide, etc. In a realistic way. But that would probably be asking for too much.

Damn, I said Carabao Cup finals but I meant the Community Shield!

*Edit: proper quote now.

These kinds of error sound familiar even on PA1, to be fair. Plenty of times with passes (especially through balls), the game has determined it's for some other player, and even though it gets really close to other nearby players, you can't select or intercept the "on rails" pass. Not even by using super cancel. It's really crappy.

You're correct.. but you've quoted a different post.:)

Sometimes I get it. Maybe we've put more "power" than what is needed, that's why the CPU determined we intended it for the farther player. I mean, the CPU doesn't know our intentions, it only knows the buttons we've pressed.

Thanks for that, changed it now!

Yeah, that's true. But then, why does it have to be locked on anyway? I understand that a through ball is differentiated from a normal pass because it's going to run on further and is weighted differently. So it should in a sense have a firm target. But that could be the case simultaneously as the CPU allows your own nearer teammates to lock onto it. Instead, they run away like they're allergic to the ball just because it wasn't "meant" for them.

Imagine if both of them run for the ball. They'll collide or they both decided not to get the ball because they thought the other one will get it. That's just my idea.hehe
The game allowed us sometimes to switch to players while receiving the ball but most of the time, doesn't work well.

THROUGH-BALLS & RAILS
There are some annoying things with the throughball(I don't use throughball, BTW) but sometimes I understand why the devs did that.
How many times do we like to super-cancel to cut the balls path because the ball is already very close to the receiver but he is letting the ball roll further? I think the CPU is letting it roll further because the CPU thinks you aimed at the space further(based on the power we put in the ball). Just my observation, I might be wrong.

LOCKING TO PLAYERS & RAILS
Sometimes annoying but I get the reason why.
In some situation, it's very difficult to get to the ball when you're not locked.
We can still use SUPER CANCEL anyways, to make adjustment or wants more freedom.
What's more annoying to me, is that sometimes it suddenly "UNLOCKS" while you and your opponent are racing towards the ball, and you're surprised that your player is running away from the ball.

Really looking forward to demo.
Got a mate coming over and we’ll bash demo for a good few hours.
He, like me, was a huge fan of Pes since ISS on Megadrive. He hasn’t bought Pes since pes09 such has been the games decline. He always tries the demos or borrows my games but he is looking forward to the demo from what he has seen.

What time does it drop roughly on Xbox?
