PES 2019 News Discussion Thread (INSULTS/DIGS = INSTANT BAN)

From the 2 only videos i just saw, i can state clearly that for me PES is dead. Same old same old gameplay, space everywere, goalkeeper staying on their line despite danger, full lack of awareness from every single player in reacting to the ball and whats going on on the field. Cant se no improve at all despite some new animations, and a slower pace.

This year only today i manage to catch some info about the new PES because last year i promisse to myself i will no longer follow the development, and the hype train created by the same old same old users anymore that have only to win with the success of PES, being the game awfull or not as long as it sells they get their share.

But resuming this long time apart from this development just makes the shock even bigger when i whatched the videos. Pure tactical rubbish, poor gameplay, still poor enviroonment surrounding the 4 lines, its just another game of football living on the glory of the name created in the past.

Nonetheless i guess people since last year have started slowly learning as we can see by most of the comments. No more getting up on the train of people saying every year that what they play under closed doors is the 8 wonder, and that the videos dont do it justice, just to be proven wrong after 1 week of retail release, and they defending themselves saying its a completly different game of what they have played, because after the sales it no longer matters.

The only pro for me on this years PES is having the portuguese league fully licensed.

Good games to you all folks

One thing I must say though: I was watching the Carabao Cup finals yesterday and inevitably I thought how good the turf looks in PES 2019. Specially in the day / afternoon type of lighting (Not so good at night-time IMHO).
The Chilean trailer showed a different mow-pattern style with thicker horizontal line and it looked amazing.
Colors seem spot on too.

If I was to get a little nitpicky perhaps I would like to see it getting worn out, damaged, etc as players slide, etc. In a realistic way. But that would probably be asking for too much.

Wait, are you saying that shot accuracy is based upon the pass assistance level?

Always has been, since they introduced extra PA's back in '13.
Not just passing and shooting, but 1st touch/ball control, auto tackling and rail running as well. They're all tied together with PA. Also changes how the AI can ping it about in some cases too.

Has nobody here ever played against a high Pa user online? I'm shocked ppl didn't know this.
Pa affects literally everything in gameplay. It's always been unbalanced, hence why online has always been a shit show. (terrible servers as well obviously)

Sometimes over-analysing and over-thinking really does take away from the enjoyment of just playing a game. I think I approached PES 2018 the wrong way - watched countless videos pre-release, spent much too much time looking at videos and screenshots of team structures - eventually when the game came out I was almost burnt out before even playing it.

Took a chunky break and then came back to it in the new year and it was great, had a lot of fun playing PES for the last 7 or so months. Looking forward to trying the PES 2019 demo but I don't want to "overplay" the demo before the game is even out - if it's like PES 2018 but an improvement in certain areas then I'm sure I and many, many others will be really happy.

Totally agree, done the same as you this year and only look at the game as a bit of side fun now instead of my hardcore main game because you just can't take it as seriously as once did, in that respect it can be a lot of fun.

Oh yeah and as for demo, won't even touch it, never do as it just makes you think this is not the same game something I learned years ago and also the fact I'm getting game anyway.

I basically didn't follow the release of 2018, and yet when I then tried the free version I was sick of it after a couple of hours. Everyone is different but for me there is no masking the fact that 2018 fundamentally is just not a very good football game, and as Chris said it doesn't take long to see the flaws, whether you have seen any videos or not. Hopefully 2019 will be different. :)

It seems to me PES 2019 won’t be any different.

Before I registered on Pro Evo Web a couple of days ago, I was a little hyped once again. Must say that has completely blown to pieces the last couple of days. The vids and (mostly) negative vibe around PES made me suspicous once again.

Based on the latest vids I’ve seen, I must admit. It just simply looks like PES 2018 when you look at the gameplay. And that is not good news for me. I hate the AI defence in PES these days. It kills the game for me. PES will be all about finding the flaws in the game and use them, and it looks like that won’t take very long.

I really don’t like the gameplay vids from the last couple of days. It tells me everything, because I didn’t like PES 2018 at all. And it looks very much like PES 2018. I hope to be wrong, but I doubt it.

I know that demo is near but watchnig this video give me confidence about good game this year. Even on superstar look how cpu ai misplace passes during attacks in final third, also how unpredictable the whole game is. I really like it especially ball physics. good match @Spooky1611

That first goal hurt my eyes. I feel like there is an invisible wall keeping the goalkeeper from going past the 6 yard box!, he literally retreats after he gets to the line. Is the line on fire or something?

Apart from that the game looks very nice visually.

I've only played offline and manual since 2011 so never realised.

I hope that will be fixed, I noticed that too. But ai try to simulate penalty and gets booked, never ever saw that in pes game before. game looks stunning how it moves and looks. If some animations aren`t there I will really struggle to find difference than actual match on tv if I threw my eyes accidentaly on tv in my living room

I know. I can't wait to see it on my own TV. The long ridiculed "Net Pervs" have been serviced this year but I don't think there's that much acknowledgment of "Turf Pervs" each year in the PES community from a teasing standpoint but looks like this year we've been catered for too.

I haven't played '18 for months but was there not pitch wear & tear on that game either?

Interestingly there is some kind of effect on the pitch from the players but it is almost imperceptible. You get very slightly darkened areas where the players' step. There was a picture knocking around on reddit from someone who pointed it out but I can't find it.

Offline modes are an afterthought for konami atm. Even Adam Bhatti was quoted that he has to fight for any love to be given to ml. The extra revenue generated by myclub is konami's main focus as we know. I am keeping my expectations pretty low re the demo of pes 2019, hopefully it will be an improvement, but I am still expecting quite a few of the usual fundamentals of the 'beautiful game' to be lacking as has been pointed out in recent game play videos.
That three year cycle for Master League though :BOP:

I hadn't heard someone say the words "PES is dead" in a while, so that was refreshing.

Thank you! This is what I've been saying. And I was really surprised to see people here doubt it, given the general opposition to assistance levels in sim games.

It is worth noting that the free version is just myClub, and when you start myClub, you have crappy teams with poor team spirit (much like early ML with the basic players option, not club). So if you're only trying the free version and only for a few games, it'll certainly give you a poor impression of the gameplay either way.

I think I've been a pitch perv for a while, but didn't even know I was a net perv until I saw the improved nets in 2019.

Yeah there is. I see it all the time. Definitely perceptible. Could be better, but it's not really unrealistic or hard to see.

The free version also features exhibition matches and the PES League mode.

Yea, Master League does nothing for me anymore. It used to over a decade ago, but it's just so bland, boring and unattractive now. It's all make believe. Konami have to do a better job with it. Make it more realistic, enticing, colorful, something...
Forget it mate, you won't see that in PES never again. Konami took a completely different path.

I know Myclub isn't loved by the entire community but for those that enjoy the mode, is there much there to do offline? Any news on what modes exist on PES 2019 Myclub offline?

- backheels
- open spaces around players
- end to end
- very accurate no look passess with anyone
- shooting most of the time is still spot on with anyone
- op freekicks
+ fouls
+ penalty
+ nice dribbles with the likes of Messi
+ animations
+ graphics

looks like a very mixed bag. just hoping lower teams and different tactics can make games different. hoping for that "anything can happen" feeling. well see on Wednesday

So today EA announced that Alex Hunter will play for Real Madrid in the third part of "The Journey". You can buy the Hunter kit in the official Real store so I'm pretty sure we won't see Real in PES.

I cant see backheels as a specific problem/negative point in this video. There were a lot of moments that the player didnt use a backheel pass that would be certainly used in PES2018. We cant see this kind of passes as a bad thing when used properly, because its part of the sport. If the AI doesnt use it in every f* play i will be satisfied haha

Just saw couple of videos. Lol game looks same as previois, especially animations which are really annoying. So slow and robotic. Looks weird and unnatural. Again robotic.
I will try it, but i see passes are also again annoying.
Pes and Fifa every year more and more disaster. 2018 we still dont have proper and good looking football game.

Im pretty sure that they focused in Real Madrid because of Ronaldo. I guess they had to remove some cutscenes this year haha

Even former ML original espimas has turned against them now.

Completely alien

That shirt in the Real Madrid store made me laugh as first team players have to be numbered between 1 and 25 in La Liga.
