Really looking forward to demo.
Got a mate coming over and we’ll bash demo for a good few hours.
He, like me, was a huge fan of Pes since ISS on Megadrive. He hasn’t bought Pes since pes09 such has been the games decline. He always tries the demos or borrows my games but he is looking forward to the demo from what he has seen.

What time does it drop roughly on Xbox?
It will likely be available to download between 1pm and 4pm (UK) if you decide to get it from the New Zealand Xbox store.

Do you manual guys think crossing is broken on manual?
I've modified mine to activate L2 each time I press "circle" to make it manual.

I don´t feel like it´s broken. It took me a lot of time to get the cross to the right direction.
Now I can do it, but still, sometimes the ball goes too much to the middle-line´s direction.
Never tried it with L2 though.

About backheels:
Actually they don´t bother me that much. Played a lot of PES 2018 and really had a lot of them, but I always knew when they will be performed and when not.
When I run on the sideline towards the opponent goal and wanna pass it back to my wing defender who´s behind me, I have two options:
- Put the stick back and hit the pass button = backheel.
- Slow down, make a turn, pass back = no backheel.

Depends on whether I wanna do a quick pass or not. Specially in front of the goal, quick passing can gain space among the opponent defenders.
Plus, we´ve seen a few backheels in the latest world cup when Brazil was playing. Sure, not every team plays like Brazil.

And I would agree that backheel passing should be only be performed by specific players.

On the other hand: I´d rather wanna have a backheel pass instead of a quick 180° turn and pass, because that looks so off!

what should happen really is these backheel passes become far more succeptable to error, miskicking, lacking pace etc etc resulting in far more loose balls. It also shouldn't just be a decision between a quick backheel or a quick 180 turn, if the player isn't in the correct body position or there is no pass on, then the player should fluff the pass completely if the person presses X and there's no move on apart from backheel or quick pass. unfortunately the game in general over the last few years has struggled with error variation in passing and shooting and this is probably just a visible symptom of it.

i understand the point of view, if you want to make your player perform a backheel then that's fine, but the risk factor in doing so needs to be much, much higher.

also the additional problem which gets forgotten about in the discussion is its not just the human player where this problem manifests, its watching the AI perform countless backheels in one attacking move. I think it's fine to say if the human player wants to perform one then let them, but for the sake of realism there needs to be a way we can stop the AI from just using it like a normal pass and without any consequence

Can´t disagree here. Good point.
More error would be fine.

About the AI: tbh I don´t see them that much...at least not that often that it would piss me off.
Maybe that´s because of playing on professional. I could imagine that you might see them more often with higher difficulty levels.

Not sure. I've only ever created an account but if you can change your region on your main account then that'd be easier!
Yeah - on Xbox I'd always just had another account but on PS I'm sure I've just changed my region to NZ. Ahh, we'll find out later! Doesn't take ages to create an account either way. Cheers for the answer :)

You do need a New Zealand account on the PS4 - changing the region isn't enough to show you the content from that region. As far as I can remember, you just change the region on the Xbox! So basically, I'm saying the opposite of what you said. :D

Haha, ahh cock - I'm blaming my age on getting it completely mixed up. It's genuinely been a little while since I've had to do it...

3 hours to go...till 12am NZ time ... dont care about all the negative stuff thus far...im as pumped as ive ever been for a brand new pes game...gotta be the best time of year for sure...

U know... may plug in 2 controllers when the demo hits.. and try R2 curling placement shot on full manual shooting (with messi's left foot ofcourse). ..just to see if its broken as it has been in 16 17 and 18. Also wanna see what full metered shots do this time around....really hoping for a more sensitive shooting system aka pes 5..where over hit skiers were easier to do..

Im guessing a new thread for demo reviews???aka the beta last year... or will all the info be kept here??

Well...ill soon be heading to psn nz store n doing the ritual refresh hahah and of course will try for the steam version also...that im not sure of... if memory serves me right...it was up in nz psn store after 12am nz time...closer to 12.30 or 1am..meaning we're probably 3.5hours away...

What do we think, guys?

If we're being honest with ourselves, the thread is a mess of all kinds of chat anyway - I'm not sure that a demo thread is merited. A retail thread, maybe.

Yeah... I think keep it here... couldn't be assed to go between this and then that thread... once retail hits, then yeah.. that requires a totally new thread I reckon. <Refreshes NZ psn demo section>
