Yeah... I think keep it here... couldn't be assed to go between this and then that thread... once retail hits, then yeah.. that requires a totally new thread I reckon. <Refreshes NZ psn demo section>
It would appear @ThomasGOAL has jumped the gun... :D

We'll give a demo opinions thread a go. But as soon as people start posting in here about it post-demo release, I'll shut it down because it'll prove there's no point...

Just keep this thread, no need for a demo thread I reckon. This is pretty much the central hub for PES 2019 discussion anyway and the demo is clearly going to be discussed like, a lot!

I've been watching the video on my phone over the last few days and thinking some of the footage visually just looked like 18 but that Scottish trailer looked amazing to be fair

Hope it is ok to post this here. Some may have read it already.
It's a very good, balanced, write up of gameplay impressions from the Glasgow event by Verminator. He also played Pes 2019 at E3.
Looking forward to the demo, and reading the evoweb members opinions.
I don't find that balanced at all, I've got to be frank. Saying PA1 is "borderline manual" just doesn't seem to be the case in any confirmed PA1 videos we've seen - otherwise, as somebody else pointed out, nobody would be able to keep possession for longer than two passes at a time.

As for seeing "lots of fouls" - you would, if you don't play against the AI. Which in the guy's defence, he does clarify (but then, why say it at all, when there's nothing to stop two human players hacking each other down in the last game).

Every year, reviews are the same - check out 2018 reviews (of both games actually) and in general you'll be amazed at the similarities. It's always "slower", "more free" and everything else. But we know what those games were like.

Looking forward to the demo.

Agree that the same superlatives are rolled out in every demo review. It's that repetitive that you just can't attribute any weight to words of the people saying it. PES is at the point where the only impression you can trust is your own.

EDIT: And Matt10L's; his views often align with my own feelings.

Thankfully in few hours we won't have to read such impressions anymore. I hope these guys saying PA1 is borderline manual are ready for the inevitable backlash they will face.

I never played PA1 lately, but i'm really going to test it and see how much difference there is between PA0 and PA1.

I don't think I've been this excited for a PES demo since waiting for the next issue of Official Playstation Magazine to drop with the PES 5 demo!

We're truly spoiled with the volume of content in a freaking demo this year, even online multiplayer - It's unprecedented for a Football game!

Can't wait myself, i'm tense because if these people are saying borderline manual but the truth turns out to be nowhere near that, then the situation will never improve because these are the people that konami listen to. gah

But when demo is out there will be 20+ pages about opinions and impressions, and maybe some news arrive in upcoming days. Many of us cant and dont have time to read all pages and posts, so we can miss some infos. This is only forum/site where i read pes news and infos.
Really dont understand why is so hard to post in demo thread lol.

Exactly. I haven't read one decent impressions article, nor watched a single well articulated preview video on PES 2019 or the other game, for that matter. The caliber of writing and laying ones thoughts out objectively in regards to football games these days is terrible, really.

Also, yet another person saying Passing assistance affects shooting accuracy... what is going on?

True. Every year you see the same previews about PES. It always seems to be the greatest game ever, but it never is. But, however, didn't PES 2018 get good reviews (8.2 on metacritic I believe)?

I must admit that evo web forum is pretty negative about PES, and surely I know and understand why. I feel the same way about PES. And I and don't like the PES series as much as I used to do. There is a reason why I don't play the new game longer than 2 months. In the past I played it all year without a problem.

My biggest issue however with PES these days is the defence. I don't know about you, but I'm pretty busy correcting the AI all the time when it comes to the defence part of PES. You can't change that with tactics, or maybe I just don't know how.

Anyway, I'm excited about the demo, but the vids showed me the same shizzle in defence.

Every Pes no matter how bad it is always get good reviews. If you look at Metacritic even Pes 2008 that was almost unplayable on Ps3 managed to reach 74%, that is 7.4.

Recently the best reviewed Pes is Pes 2016 with 87%, that is really high for a game that had game-breaking defensive issues.

I know. I'am not saying that the good reviews make PES a good game. It's more that I just don't understand why they get the good reviews. It makes no sense to me.

Maybe he meant that it's easier to shoot from a perfect pass(most assisted passes are), than from an in-accurate pass because the shooter needs to do some adjustment first before taking a shot.

Adjustments mean that the shooter needs to get to the ball first because it didn't go directly to his feet. In-accurate pass(in terms of power) also results in low quality trapping of the ball. A low quality trap means there will be some delays before he'll be able to pull off a decent shot. He can pull-off a shot while trying to control the ball but that will affects his accuracy because he is out of balance.

Also, If you're not able to take a shot instantly after a pass, then there's a good chance a defender will get closer to you, to a point where your accuracy is being affected.

That's just my interpretation of what he said and the things I've observed while playing. I may be completely wrong.

No worries I stand by what I said PA1 is free and I can understand people saying words like borderline manual, happy to take any criticism I do believe in free speech as long as it doesn't got too far I have no problems if people play the game and it turns out different from what I've been saying, but I'm very very confident that people will like what they play today (later) and tomorrow (couple of days off for me ....lol).

of course over a period of prolonged play guys may spot things here and there but there's not any game-braking or severe bad things in this game Konami has done a excellent job.

looking forward to the role being reversed and I get to read what you guys think ...... bring it !!

Looking forward to the demo, and reading the evoweb members opinions.

Reading between the lines it sounds like it has regressed from the E3 build. If this trend continues into the final release we could be left with something like PES 2018.1.
