i tried SS, TP and regular. for my FUMA gameplay i prefer professional! not to hectic by AI and still a challenge for my FUMA skills!
-1 game speed is a must for me. i played 2 MyClub matches 2 nights ago and there where unrealisticly fast. gosh. thats not football, i thought to myself.
minor team, -1 gs, 20min, prof., all fuma, line height fix, day matches: thats the holy grail of setting up a match for me!

reg. day matches: when someone in here mentioned that... i never played a night match ever again. dont know if its placebo or for real (that night matches play worse)... but i liked nearly all the day time matches i played!

reg. line height fix by @Matt10 : this just works wonders for me! i do play exib. matches most of the time and set up both teams this way. its easy and fast and as i said, its just a lovely tweak.
this, in combination with my tactical settings (compactness, support range, etc.), is doing the midfield battles a huge favor. teams stick closer, they go to the middle of the pitch when attacking... its just so much better in terms of how both teams behave more natural and closer to the real thing! cant play without it anymore because when i do, there is soooo much space!

Yeah, i don´t play MyClub (no offense to guys who actually playing it), because that´s so far from realisitc football, as far as it can get. Also, i do not want to support microtransactions.
What´s about that line height fix you mentioned? I am actually a regular reader of this forum, but missed that one.
I guess applying it, doesn´t work in ML?
I absolutely can imagine, why you are playing mostly friendlies. There is almost no cheating from the AI, however,
as i mentioned i didn´t experienced it so far, with the mentioned settings (and i really, really hope it stays that way , because it was a gamebreaker for me in all those years).

I have played a bit of online co op with my brother and my mate, and although it is quite fun the number of MyClub teams made of current world class players and classic ones is way too high. Bitter as it may sound, I am pretty sure all these teams have been made by garbage people. Also, there is usually just two players on the opposing team, making it even easier for the other side.

I can agree on the unpredictably of playing fifa for sure.
But with one exception.
And that's pretty much what I'm on about with Pes and inside the box

Every time I'm outside the box on fifa there's only two outcomes , you'll make it or the CPU does.
Never ever a free kick.
So to me that's game breaking.
And the possibility of drawing a free kick and a yellow card is never an option there.
Then not having the chance of putting pressure on that defender a second time (if he'd got cautioned) is also never an option.
Which makes my fifa experience poor,if not game breaking.

The rest of your description of fifa, I'm totally onboard there pal.

That is definitely the flipside of that coin I agree. For now I feel like I've seen most everything pes has to offer though so the positives of fifa outweigh what you just mentioned for me currently.

I had 3 seasons on it( on my 4th) when I felt Pes was rubbish.
And I enjoyed those seasons,didn't mind no free kicks etc.
But then,guess 3 patches ago ,the penalties started to disappear aswell (I know they're back now) and I packed it in and returned here.
Which team are you playing ?
I had one season at Burnley,then a season at villa and two at Sunderland (currently 10th in the championship)

i have no agenda... really
i just play what i want to. last night i played Augsburg vs Dortmund as it was on tv! The valencia match i played because it was the match of the night irl in spain.
i like to play those matches that are on later that night or were played the last weekend. no plan here... i like to play different teams... so its all kinda random.
i dont play ML as TS is getting on my nerve (and the whole mode is... got old). regular league i played much more. but now, for weeks, i play exibition matches only.
sometimes i just have a match in my mind i like to play. this can be triggered by anything. i come home, see a green flyer in the mail box, and want to play Celtic. been playing some national teams too. so its all random over here i guess. i just want to play football. simple is that.

and yes, pen and paper could have a return! i could easily play a league like this.

As much as I like exhibition due to its fairness, no TS, no momentum etc, I just cant play just this mode.
Apart of a bit of fun, to me, its pointless. I need to have a team, table, target, get to know the players, see their development, "grow" some young ones, have problems with injuries and cards, I need all those things to feel that Im playing towards certain goal.
Im ready to swallow all the momentum and ocasional shitty scripted matches just to have a purpose.

Even last night I was playing in a spanish cup. First game was brutal. AI had ball on the string and they were dancing around me like DJ Bobo. Lost 0-3 at home, horrible, frustrating game. But, like I mentioned before, I just said "fuck it" and moved on to the next. Second leg I had nothing to lose, so I set very offensive tactics and charged at them like bunch of spartans. Ended up 3-1 for me. Still got eliminated, but what a game that was. Exhibition would not give me that.

Ps. Nice to see a lot of people settling in on PA0, Professional, -1 speed. So far I also believe this is most ballanced and enjoyable setup.
Plus 20mins for me. Cant play shorter matches since I tried this.

I know what you mean, Em!!
I would love to play leagues and cups. But as these modes sometimes “play different” I stick with Exhibition matches. The rest is done in my head (table, stories, all that glitter)!

Still doesnt help with transfers, players development, long term injuries and so on.

Besides - AI plays differently depending if they lost or won previous match. They know how many goals they need and when to park the bus.

I get where you're coming from and I did it myself with a notebook before, but its not the same.

It is rubbish mate. Outside of the box = impossible.

I get what you're saying here and knowing myself this will kk doubt start to irritate further down the line. I'm getting used to the gameplay now though and it is quite fun a real grower as well. I've got three saves going: one with Leicester city and one with arsenal whose starting 11 I've completely gutted and replaced with low rated prospects. Those are too easy though... I think I'm gonna settle for the third: a save with Swansea city in the championship, halfway through season one, top if the league. Playing on world class with legacy defending. I cannot get the hang of tactical and honestly don't really want to, way too fiddly.

Dont know if you played previous one, but tactical defending there was fantastic. It was one of the best things going for the game. Took a while to get my head around it but I really felt like I was in control.
19 feels different. HUM defending feels nerfed in a bad way. You dont have as much control as in a previous one.

But I have to say, tactical defending on F18 made me better defender on Pes19. Awareness, positioning, and careful tackles without abusing X - its all from F18.
Wish our defenders were more responsive and "awake". Sometimes you have your defender in position, where he should clear the ball and AI still manages to stick their foot in. Annoying and quite unrealistic at times.

Good choice staying off PL,it usually plays better in the Championship/League 1-2.
Haven't played BL on 19,but enjoyed it on 18.

Finishing up my 2nd season on Pes right now,might go back and have a few games later on.

Right you are mate. I like the odd misplaced shot or pass. PL feels like all terminators running around. The passing speed and accuracy gets insane at times.

I did mate but still couldn't get the handing of tactical on that one either. Pes' defenders are that way on purpose of course. Woeful positioning especially when compared to fifa. The shitty thing is that the devs are aware of this and have given cpu defenders a huge boost in speed in superstar and above completely destroying the purpose of getting speedy players. Rendering once again one of the main stats in a football game useless. Inexcusable imo.

Oh man, that Cup match yesterday... i was seriously considering going -2 speed there. Dont understand how people can play and enjoy such a fast paced matches.
One of main reasons i dont go online. Its tennis, not football.

I'm not enjoying that pace either.
Thing is,it's mainly middle of the table/low ranked teams (if I'm a good side) that triggers those fast paced ones,never ever Juventus/Napoli/Roma/Lazio/Inter.
I wonder, theoretically,if I would edit a league with only top 4 teams from all strong leagues if that still be the case?

Try right click on the box/row. it should give you an option to format cells. It should be fairly straight forward and you'll know once you see it. But i dont have a pc or laptop handy to do a proper check.

You should use two different columns for home and away goals, this way you can process the data a lot easier.

I did enjoy them, i had some 0-0 draws and in general it was grand, but it felt a bit faster and more clean. Which is a bit scary, coz its seems like its slowly changing into Pes18..

Got seasick playing 18 which was fast as fuck.
Just had one of those on Pes a moment ago.

That's been my fear too; the sudden increase in tempo and one touch passing is eerily familiar and concerning. I hated how clean 2018 was.

I needed a draw Vs Lazio to get the scudetto ,and I got a 2-2 draw.

Anyway a bit tired of Pes 19 I gave Pes 18 a go.
TP manual,got killed!
Then restarted on profesional
Despite its quirkiness in certain areas,I can't help feeling that the randomness (Vs 19) are great.
Also that the CPU turns around outside the box and shoots
Wasn't prepared for that.
Low foul count,but there's something refreshing in how it plays Vs (my games ) 19 at times.

Got a little surprised that my players didn't stumble around after being stripped off the ball,also enjoyed the dribbling more.
Felt weighty.

Put a feet mark before the numbers (don‘t have this on the iphone, it‘s like the character before the t in ‚don‘t‘, only the simple vertical line, not the quotation mark)

So i thought initially, but i tried on mobile and its not as easy as it sounds. Little apostrophe is the simplest way.


Another few games in last night and as much as Im enjoying this campaign, I have to agree with @rockstrongo .
Overall AI is shallow this year. There is not nearly enough long range shots, but its not only that. AI just looks for way into penalty area. There is no crosses and headers this year. I was glad at first, as crosses and headers were OP in 18 and it was one of the main ways of scoring goals, but they shouldnt remove them altogether.
We need more unpredictability from AI.
