On the other hand I could’ve not expirienced what was the most effective patch on PS4. Isn’t it?

Well with only about 2000 people playing (according to Steam charts) you have to reel in more customers somehow.

Even NBA2k18 has more players currently playing.

Scripting exists to some degree but still skills are more important than any scripting.
There are people online who have 80+% of wins.
If scripting was so powerfull they wouldn't be able to have so many wins as the game would fuck them up and ruin their results constantly.But that's not the case.They're still able to have these numbers because they have very good skills.
People who constantly moan about scripting are probably average players who blame the game to make excuses for their fuck ups and failures.Skills are the most important.

Yeah scripting is definitely there , sometimes it's as if your players are running through mud while your opponent runs rings round you , i've had a few games like that and that's against people with a similar and lesser win ratio than myself, and i'd also bet that a decent percentage of the people who have an 80+% win ratio are lag cheats.

How you can say there's no scripting is just insane. It's there for everyone to see, it's as plain as day.

I'm loving PES this year. But to blindly stick up for something and make blatant lies like 'no scripting' is silly...it won't help the game improve in future versions.

I think the problem here is that Mehuk refers to scripting in a slightly different way to what you think scripting means.
He talks about scripts in the literal sense of the word. In this case, like PES was following a pre-written routine during the match. And that is obviously not happening.

When you talk about scripting, you mean (I think) AI boost and AI cheating.
A lot of people refers to THAT as scripting, but to other people scripting mean that it follows a course that has already been set even before starting the match. Well, that's not happening in PES. In fact, if you score a goal and then start passing the ball from the CBs to the GK the entire match, I bet you you will win. No matter what. So that throws the scripting theory out the window.

What PES does though, is 'help' the AI in key moments of the game to get the equalizer or to score the winner goal.
And when THAT moment happens in a match, you can feel it because it's so obvious. The AI goes through whatever is ahead, get to the ball first, finds the spaces and scores.

I don't think I've ever seen a situation post patch where I've conceded a goal and thought I couldn't of done something different to prevent that due to AI boost/script/ cheating. Saying that I'm yet to try ML

In my league campaign just got beat 2-1 by Real..their first goal was an immense looking goal. Bale dribbling down the line, beats a man and plays in to Benzema . He turns and through ball to Isco. It's around the penalty spot unmarked but instead of hitting it first time past the oncoming Alisson he lets it roll , completely wrong footing the keeper then slots it in. I equalise with a salah free kick but then they just stepped it up. I pressed upfront, subbed three attacking players who were knackered trying to win but that left my tired defence exposed. They got 3 one on ones in last 10 mins and Benzema chipped Allison for the winner. I come close from another salah free kick in the 91 st minute but keeper managed to save it...love it.
Also people struggling to find gaps in AI defence manual pass into space using manual button really helps

Finally cracked and got the game in the sale on psn before I go all negative I really like some aspects of the game I bet friend vs friend in the same room throws up some amazing matches the game moves and feels great to control

But

Played around 15 games in ML on superstar im sitting in 5th in serie b and the AI is annoying now I understand to make things a challenge there has to be handicapping but it's ridiculous how much the AI can run and pass at faster speeds than myself

I hate the way they blast it top corner nearly every goal too and the fact that they are so switched on defensively it really curbs goal variety because certain paths are just a no go

I played ascoli in my last game they had 5 shots, 5 on target, 5 goals and all blasted in at close range top corner I have 13 shots 4 on target ended up losing 5-2 maybe that's why my post might sound full of fruststation

Right now I prefer 2018 vs the AI but I will keep playing see if it gets better

Personally I think that dribbling is much more responsive than it was in Pes18, while it still looks reasonably natural.
Just needs a bit of practice to leave AI defenders behind

I think you need more practise , dribbling is alive if you look at the defenders movement , also scored lots from crosses and several from 30 yards on advanced shooting and manual modifier

You're right. But that wont get you anywhere.

There are things in this game which are still broken. But there are also things that are working just fine with a bit of practice.
I had a lot of problems with dribbling myself in the past.
Then I watched few videos and they helped a lot. My problem was that I was focused on my player when I was dribbling without watching the defenders. Their momentum and body movements will tell you how to get pass them.
Same way it takes a while to turn when you are trying to defend against AI - same mechanism applies when they are defending against you.
Im using weaker teams, always had, and Im dribbling pass AI defenders on Superstar quite easily. It gets bit tighter around their penalty area but with a bit of practice even there its possible.
I have no hesitations to admit that something is wrong in Pes (like AI not having any low shots or me not having any penalties since I started ML).
But dribbling and getting a space to shoot are not one of them.

If you don't like PES you're (in order)...

Not playing on manual.
Playing in the Master League (play a different mode).
Playing the game "wrong".

Just want licenses.

For someone to form an opinion that ball contact is perfect on every pass/shot, or player/team ID is poor (i.e. the AI doesn't dribble), it is not the result of someone being shit at the game. They're opinions.

So you're good at playing a computer game? Nobody cares. Your opinion still means the same as anybody else's.

And in this case - he is wrong that you cant dribble pass defenders because they are "switched on" too much. He cant dribble pass the defenders because he is not taking advantage of their movements.
As for AI errors, I said it before - AI makes mistakes if you pressure them. They have missplaced passes and are not perfect, even on Superstar.
If you sit back and let them play then yeah - they wont make any mistakes. They are professional footballers. If a professional footballer cant kick the ball straight he is in the wrong sport.
Same way your players should not have passing errors if arent under pressure. Our errors come from bad body position when passing, due to AI pressure or our own human error element.
I also disagree with no dribbling from AI claim. Its not like in the other game. Its not flashy and you cant dance through the whole team (which I personally hate as its unrealistic AF) but subtle dribbling is there.
Yes, there could be more of it, especially from AI superstars like Neymar, but its not non excistent. Its just more subtle.
I posted this before, but here it is again.
Just watch very first opportunity from AI (Newcastle). If thats not a dribbling than I dont know what is..


Again - this has nothing to do with FIFA or being a fan boy of one or another. Both have issues but both are solid.
But issues are issues. If issue comes from lack of practice or understanding of the game mechanism - its not an issue.

As I said previously, I think the patch has pretty much delivered on all its promises. My issue wasn't to disagree with a technical point - only that everyone's opinion is valid, seeing as we've all played the game, and your playing ability doesn't make the things the AI does less valid.

I understand your point but as @philla has just alluded to, telling someone that the AI dribbles IF you do X, Y and Z is a million miles from the point. You wouldn't only see Liverpool's front three dribbling if you backed off them. Whether there's a "workaround" or not, it's not great - and having an opinion about that is valid.

But telling everyone they're wrong because they're rubbish at the game is the domain of someone with a massive ego. It's amazing what video games can do to people. Nobody wants a virtual dick-measuring competition.

Let's get back on-topic now, anyway.

I didn't say it couldn't be done I said you can forget about it for the most part. And this is due to a number of factors. No manual shielding, 8 directional movement, a first touch that often makes you walk automatically into an opponent, overpowered AI defenders who mostly refuse to make a challenge and a bunch of DM's standing behind the striker waiting to pounce.

Will take a look at that video but find that it's very rare I ever get time or space to attempt those turns. And it really should be possible to take defenders out of the game regularly without using them at all and just with a change of pace/direction as per previous games.

The use of player individuality (in this case: dribbling) could be used a lot more in the game. That´s one thing apart many others that would be nice to have.

But if you want to have a football fix on your machine, there is no other way than check out the past and present of video gaming, make sure you maxed out the options (sliders/difficulty etc.) and pick the one which gives you the best experience overall. To me, PES2019 is the best soccer experience of all times, no matter if PES6 was more at the edge of technology/playabilty when it was released (it surely wasn´t). If your demands reach out to a motivating career mode (i give a damn about everything but league games), you might see that different.

All this shouldn´t prevent us from talking about the games and the visions we have.

It works both ways and its equally annoying when someone say "game is great - you are shit" and "game is shit". Im usually trying to throw a spanner in the works when I see posts like this.
And Im always trying to support any claims with videos or explanation to help people understand.

Like you said - its not right when, to achieve something that should be in the game naturally, you have to do X, Y, Z (like I was told on the other game thread about fouls).
And on that - yes, you are right, I dont think I have seen any other than front AI players dribbling. There should be more of that.

As for Tosser - I really believe that his dribbling will improve and he will be surprised how easy is to pass by defenders, if he follows few tips.
And this is not one of those "X,Y,Z in order to achieve" recipe. This is vision, awareness and football intelligence. And it only needs a bit of practice.

£20 is the mark I was waiting for. I’m in.

For this year I’m ok with the experience I got from playing the demo online if PA0 matchups are as regular or better. If ML is as underwhelming as the general consensus seems to indicate then I should look at this game as a digital-only pick up and play, and just focus on enjoying the manual gameplay and tactical battle of trying to outdo the PSG/Barca types with Monaco, Algeria etc. I wouldn’t bother with the game at all if the thought of sweeping 50 yard manual crossfield passes didn’t make my trousers feel anxious.

I personally am an Average Minus player in pvp and Average vsCPU.
I believe strongly in /scripting/handicap/aaa pull-boosting, but for pvp at least I have never complained as I understand that there are variable players in skill.Those who have winning streaks over 80% are so adaptive in a video game so they can go on and fond the exploits to win even when their team is handicapped.The problem for me is in games Average VS average where the one being handicapped is so obvious sometimes.For me takes away any immersion and just makes me not enjoy the match.I have felt many time with the same players/same stats, occasions where I super cancel between an opponent passing and ball is clipping through my players body and feet for 90 minutes and in other matches,especially when I am on a losing streak ,where my players is 2 meters away from ball and he wraps and captures it magically when I press (X) no matter timing or positioning,he just teleports to the right place the right time cutting my opponent passing lanes and paths everywhere .It just does not let me enjoy the game and I feel constantly more annoyed when I win games because my players act like they are boosted.So I just avoid to play online MyClub.
By I repeat although it annoys me I never moan as the MMO games have these formulas to keep customers happy,or with a false hope that they will improve someday.Orelse we would end up ,some people having Elo below 200 or 100 rAting which never happens.I have never seen anyone with rAting less then 200.
So I believe it exists but it does not defy tha game by 100%.It is up to someone’s adaptability and skills ,how much he is affected by all these scenarios.

P.S.: Against AI It is a different story with few similarities.

I have to say, despite the AI in ML being atrocious. I am finding great enjoyment playing online divisions. It feels good to play manual even against assisted players, the games seem even and fair. I feel like I can defend my way through games against good players or players that try exploit formations. I don't win every game and I dont care about my W/D/L but i set myself little challenges. if i need 250 points to get promoted i will play as Burnley and play for the 0-0 draw to get promoted. really enjoyable
