default speed of game is absolutely spot on

lost second match 1-0 top player difficulty vs barca. messi scored a bs goal where he rocketed an unstoppable shot from just inside the box with the outside of his foot into bottom corner...i dont care who you are it is virtually impossible in real life

PC with all the mods to come should be good
i hope next year they give passing the same treatment its too easy on lvl 1 right now
This is an issue I have - we're already talking about "mods will make it good" and "next year I hope the passing is harder". This is day one of the new game and we're talking about fixing it, about what the game still needs but doesn't have.

No doubt it generally feels better, but. I can't help but feel - especially seeing how well the AI play with supposedly poorer teams - that it doesn't really matter. (But that's because I exclusively play the AI.)

+Yeah, defensively I feel way way more in control than I did in pes2018.
+the other thing I wanted to mention was the smoothness and how good this game actually looks. The videos ive watched posted over the last month or so, E3 and demo, just didn't look great... even at 60fps... seem like there was a lot of sliding.. and the transitions looked not so great. But today.. while playing the demo, its looks amazing. Maybe also cause im playing quite close up.. ie. 5-7 on zoom, 8 height, and 10 angle...
+ Also, I don't think ive noticed any backheels.. ive done a few of those flick-heels to the side.. but I haven't seen any backheels.... that's gotta be a positive... LAMI!!!!

Er. :BORED:

This is where I'll be accused of not having a sense of humour, but... Come on...

We already saw this celebration at E3 with the Legends team and people went mental because Cruyff was one of the players celebrating :DD

Yeah, but say this occurs in the 90th minute. In a five minute match, the final whistle will blow. You might not even have time to notice it. Even if it happens in the 80th minute, you might find yourself thinking "is that the new fatigue kicking in, or is it just the same thing that happens when you're out of stamina previou-oh there's the final whistle". It's unfortunate. But understandable.

WTF!

Just finished downloading. Will play in about an hour. Are most people playing on pro in 4k? Last year the game actually looked better on an older tv. 4k was too sharp or bright. I don’t know which one I should play on.

So I made it all the way into their half no pressure this is superstar try it

..Who was that almighty STENCH of a player lol... definitely the way they've been set up....
also, I do agree that Superstar should really be kicking our asses.. mind you.. ive won 2, with 1-0 scorelines… and lost 3, all with 0-2 scorelines….. like chris mentioned, im also hoping the lower teams, really do play like the lower end teams and are infact much easier to defeat than the big name teams. Its an issue that's now been around since pes 15 i think...

..I couldn't upload from a phone video directly here.. so I made a low quality vid from my phone, uploaded on youtube (took only 20secs wow), and then posted that link here... easy way:)

you are right its a shame but over the last couple of years konami has tended to fix one major thing at a time if it was FIFA id have said fix it in a patch. The passing in my opinion is no different difficulty wise than 2018 but im happy the shootings took a nice leap forward in its difficulty

by the way sorry if I missed the answer to this but are you doing a review again this year? found what you said last year turned out to be absolutely spot on

I have an oled LG 4K tv and no matter if I play Fifa or Pes the ball sometimes goes blurred. Any idea how to stop that?? Anything to do with the HDR??
Cheers

I'm wondering if this is the way that Konami have setup Barcelona on the game (tactics etc.) to have all-out defence rather than front-line pressure. If they have a low defensive-line, all out defence and their advanced tactics for defence is swarm the box it means that once the other team has the ball they literally sit on a half-court press.

Add that into them also then being on a reduced attack level (is it 1 or 2? can't see that well) then it probably means they're going to just sit back. It'd be interesting to see how they did this if it was a higher attack level. No justification for this really from Konami though, whilst Barcelona don't exactly play the aggressive Liverpool/Klopp-style press they don't sit off at half court like a lower league side.

I said in my impressions I felt there was not enough resistance across the pitch by the AI but didn't see anything as bad as that haha the AI are set to blue in that clip at 0-0 but even so thats like beginner level of pressuring

Was the PC version released in NZ at the same time as console release, they are supposed to be out at the same time ?
If the PC version wasn't released at the same time in NZ, then I don't hold out much hope it will released at the same time as the console versions over here (UK)

I've played about 10 games online and I see constant back heels. All perfect into the path of the player.

some blocks causing some beautiful spin on the ball!

I've had two injuries in the space of 15 games, which is good to see. The first was when Mendy took a knock and the game flashed up a little info screen telling me that he's felt a strain (or something like that) and may get injured if he continues. Like the old yellow cross or whatever it was in the old days.

I'm really liking that the AI is prepared to play the ball around a bit more rather than being very direct.

Edit: Ha, make that 3 injuries! Fekir is a touch fragile!

20180808_021242.jpg Not sure if its cos i was playing in wet, i reckon it is, but just had a game where the cpu on superstat (milan) made around 5 misplaced or over hit passes...and i got in 11 interceptions....they got 7. Awesome games with quite a few errors. Look at their passes v made (btw...konami really need to bring back the pass % ). Ive attached score stats

Yeah it’s obviously a formation and press issue but aren’t they arguably the best team in the world. Or does mourinho manage them in PES

@aussiepesfan I was just about to post something similar - I've been seeing a few misplaced passes too. I've been playing fixed cursor and there are still some issues with unresponsive AI in certain situations, however I've been impressed with them generally. Seen some nice moments where they've reacted correctly rather than seeming disinterested.
