PES 2019 Demo Impressions Thread

When I turn Game Mode on on 55" 4K Samsung TV the game looks like 480p or even worse. I'll post some screenshots later on. They only way to get game looking fine is turning this mode off. But I feel like there is noticable lag input with game mode option off.

on my 55KS9090 game mode is set and i have a beautifull 4k hdr picture! good input lag too. never had a prob.
after the latest update (couple of weeks ago) the pic is a little brighter. like that. they got some more quality out of my tv. samsung tv's in general are ok to very good tv's, especially for gaming, imo!
what model do you have exactly? maybe i can provide some help.
edit: but please hurry. i aint got much time for tech support tonight! ;)

It's not just Barcelona, Colo Colo too did the same to me. They just stay there waiting unless they switch to offensive level on the attack/defense setting.

Suppose this is what Matt10 means about the comp ai tactical settings/ att-def levels being too rigid? They do not adapt very naturally to certain situations, and it makes the game look silly.

If you´ve got a monitor with Freesync, choose a Radeon 580 8gb or better/ with Gsync=Geforce 1060 6gb or better.

Best option is getting one of these GPU combined with a (good) recommended PSU before any SSD/CPU/Mobo/Ram upgrade alone

PS: the latest drivers for AMD Radeon (since August/2017) are broken just for PES2018 PC = stutter with ultrawide Freesync monitor here > anyway there are not Security/instability risk or whatever using 17.7.x or older drivers

I can't even remember when the last update was.. I mean - they never update this model at all. I usually play on PC connected into this tele and it looks good, game mode on (it says that picture quality might be lowered when the game mode is on - weird). However with PS4 connected to that TV, PES 2019 looks weak. I'm not even saying about game mode on which makes this game PES 3, if we mean about the graphics.

Will use this as feeback but i'm not confident it will be fixed considering it has not been fixed for years.
 
Get a Sony mid-high range LED / LCD tv if you don't want OLED, they are much better than Samsung tv's.
 
So far I haven't read anybody in here that's fully satisfied or impressed.

Plus, it seems the catch-up bug being wasn't really true just like the claim that PA1=Manual.

And where's @PES_Danielrh by the way?

Has anyone had any joy with the dipping or rising shots yet? Are their controls for these or is it contextual? I'm hoping it's contextual so it adds some nice variety to the game

I'm here just catching up with WWE Raw before trying the demo on Xbox One X - I'll download the UK version of PES2019 tomorrow on the PS4 Pro.

other than that a couple of guys like the game.

Honestly I can't remember the last Konami demo I played on Steam.. probably never happened at all.. I was hoping they would just release it as soon as the new day came or like an hour later.

All tv model vary. Even if exact same Modell. So after this, Let’s start with some basic settings.

I made my first games. Visually it's an improvement and the game is a lot smoother but PA1 is still heavy assisted. I can hardly tell the difference to PES 2018. Only the trough balls are harder to exercise.

Game mode is supposed to turn off the bells and whistles so that you have the least possible input lag. If you are playing on a PS Pro, make sure that the hdmi input is set to receiving the full signal available from the console. I was tearing hair the first time I booted up Hitman on the Pro after I upgraded as it looked like shit and had the worst lag I had seen in any game. Changing the hdmi settings fixed this. This was on a Sony TV but I don't believe the brands are all that different. You can also try to fiddle with the game mode settings.

Like a game excists that the whole world is a hundred percent happy about. Be honest, overall most people here like the demo more than they dislike it. And I did not expect that. Sure, there are negative things about it. But it seems to be better than we all were thinking a day ago...
 
Playing makes me wonder what konami have been doing for the last year. The game is basically a tweaked version of 2018 with slightly better colour pallet.

I really hoped they had redone the passing. It's just so ridiculously easy. Doesn't matter if you are Glik or Messi you can pass it perfectly left foot or right foot. What's the point of stats

Exactly this. You will never please everyone. Even if a game was completely flawless, someone would bitch about something. Some say its the perfect pace, some say its still to fast. Its personal preference. Plus we have two football games to choose from. Don't like one, then play the other.
 
PA1 is still super assisted. Long through balls can be slightly over hit, but it's not down to user input (aim or power).

The one good change is that sometimes your passes aren't pin point accurate if you're under heavy pressure. Has only happened a couple of times to me though, and considering the constant high pressure you face maybe not enough. At least it's a small improvement.
Maybe this confused a lot of those PR guys, playing a lot of 1v1 and high pressing the shit out of each other. Whatever, PA1 normal passing is clearly still assisted as ever. Disappointed about that as it's the foundation the gameplay is build on.

Makes little difference for online users anyway, you'll still be facing PA2's and 3's. It'll still be pingpong, just at a slower pace.

I still find I'm getting gangbanged pretty violently by 2 to 3 defenders. Because I like to take a touch and not pingpong, it happens fairly regular. Feels like I get locked into these auto tackles with no chance to avoid them. Could be a lot to do with taking a while to control the ball (not spamming sprint). Still a ton of fouls not called, but it could be worse imo.

I really like players control against high balls/clearances. Used to be able to take those balls down perfectly everytime with donkey CB's, now they can take really bad 1st touches.
I also like the ball physics in general (maybe a lot to do with player bad touches) deflecting and bouncing free from player control.

Ball protection/strength could use a buff. Can still be turfed aside as a defender ploughs through you from behind.

Overall, the pace of the game is great.
Show's a bit of promise for offline. It'll be another year of manual for me though, as there still is no semi assisted option. Baffling tbh. Will prob stay away from online again, it'll still be the same pingpong shit show.
