Trying to beat all the club teams on Top Player with Liverpool . Been working my way up from the bottom . Now into Schalke and boy are they tough to break down. They are really well organised and keep their shape at the back. Only problem I'm encountering still is the ai attackers being too lethal in the box. All shots on target going in from inside the area. Just hope it's because it's a 5 min match and they need to cram goals in to make sure shorelines aren't 0-0 all the time!

Feels like you're playing with the real Liverpool team in this.

PA announcer keeps welcoming the crowd 60 minutes into the game.:CONF:

@superhoops Call me a cynic but I would be amazed if the AI is any different in the full game, regardless of match length. I really hope I'm wrong because there is a lot to enjoy for me in this game but a few tweaks would make a massive improvement.

Has anyone noticed any substantial difference in shot as announced?.
The only difference I'm seeing is more shots go wide. But the "body posture" and more shooting variation and outcomes.... yeah I'm not seeing that.
Since this was another key feature announced, I was expecting something more I guess.
I'm using advanced shooting by the way.

There is.. first time shoot from rebound is not always dipping one like pes 2018. Body posture is there too.. not perfect implemented but i saw inter player makes 360 shoot tuning his body and shoot go wide.

Anyway, i i think the cpu ai will mostly pass and not patiently hold the ball whenever he see his team mate in open position for a pass. If you close the passing line, you would see them pass back/around not always forward, or lob pass inaccurately. Containing cpu attacker is one of the key.

I am cautiosly to see how cpu ai play in the master league during the season in superstar difficulty though. I hope they are not over-boosted, especially the passing accuracy, i hope this one left untouch.

It seems like someone on their design team has decided this year around that headers on goal – or even attempts of them – are absolutely uncool and should therefore be extremely difficult to pull off even with the likes of Giroud. No headers please! They are ugly! Stick to tiki-taka passing! After all, we are partnering with Barcelona and we want all of you to play like them! That's how football should be played! We looove Barcelona! I seem to remember, though, that even lil' Messi scored a header in a Champions League final, didn't he?
Lol

It seems many people here are blind folded, it s not that i don t like the game and they do, it s the fact that they are still accepting the assisted shot and passing on pa1, and the game is just pass pass pass and you re on goal, it s just rush to outscore your opponent, controlling the play and possession is not important, because of the easiness of getting the ball to each other s penalty box, from then on, basic shooting will do the job...it s this way of accepting things that is really jarring

It feels like keepers are useless when ur 1 on 1 , you will know it s gonna be a goal

Without a doubt, this Pro Evolution Soccer has the best physics, animations and gameplay feel since Pro Evolution Soccer 6. Kicking the ball around feels and looks quite similar to the old PlayStation 2 games some of the time. Shooting is not as good though and the artificial intelligence is suspect. If Konami can improve both for the final game this may be a winner on the field.

I love just knocking the ball around.
I’m not using the demo to try and win but to experiment.
I just love the passing.

I was playing Inter on Top Player and I did a test with the ai where I let them take 5 shots in a row in my penalty area without challenging them. They scored all 5. In 2018 they would have at least missed a few or had the goalkeeper save some, but they are just too clinical now.

With that said, when I have put the ai under pressure, then their success rate does go down a bit. Sliding in on one attacker did put him off and his shot was saved. It could be that if the best strikers are in great scoring positions with no pressure, they will score 90% of the time. I'll be interested to see how Championship players do in my ML. I really don't want to see goalkeepers become redundant in the full game. I had many a time in 2018 where my keeper made many saves to win me a game.

So I tried about 4 matches online last night with PA1 and I have to say it was ok (set to similar settings). It's certainly an improvement from PES 2018 but it's still to assisted for my liking.

Some things that irritated me;

1) I can't see much difference in passing abilities so to say PA0 takes away stats/individuality goes the other way as well.
2) My main problem isn't that it's to Ping- pongey but that the cpu decides to often where my pass should go when I know i directed the stick towards another player, that has to be toned down.
3) L1 + circle is always going towards the attacker (?), when using PA0 you can use that in any direction you want making some lovely crosses all over the pitch.
4) Midfield battles are almost non existent.
5) Pressuring is still to OP, although I noticed those who used that tactic from the first minute had problems later on in the match which is nice to see.

If PA1 was just the slightest less assisted it would be a winner. The game speed is perfect though.

To my own surprise, my main gripe is pitch structure and graphic quality in general so far. On full HD systems the pitch is extremely grainy with to many contrasting colours in it. The players feel completely un-antialiased as well. In direct comparison PES2018 graphics (pitch and players) are much more polished, streamlined and not that edgy on my TV.

Have demos always been full graphical quality? I am not so sure when i think back.

They actually added dynamic match time. When starting a match on camp nou with night/clear weather, the game actually starts with sunset and eventually becomes night.

I still wish they added a separate dusk/afternoon weather atleast. Sunset doesn't last long with their current setup.

so after maybe 50 online games i have to say this game is just brilliant on manual passing & shooting. but there's still one problem:

i can't score headers.

i still have the feeling there is something broken on manual. sometimes your striker just won't jump (particularly after corners) or the ball goes way over the target...

I definitely feel the same about headers. When your striker is not covered then yoz can hit tge ball straight to the goal otherwise i have tge same experience. The ball goes way over tge target every time. Maybe its tge timing but think its broken.

Good point. I still don´t have a real clue how to perform them on full manual in PES2018. Before the latest patch it wasn´t even possible to do them in training mode without defenders.

Did they improve the LOD(Level-of-detail) of gameplay player's model on PS4?

I play on PC and it looks great.
I'm one of the few here who's shitting on PES19 graphics before, but now I'm loving it.
Not a fan of the turf(it's still good though and nice upgrade from PES18), but the gameplay player models are WOW!

It almost has the highest LOD,even better than PES18's replay high-detail model.

Headers in PES2018 were too easy, the crossing & heading buttons were too "linked".
You need to wait a fraction of a second more before heading, even then if You overtime it only by a fraction, You will either head soft or head high.
High corners work well, providing the keeper can't collect the ball.

i've worked a couple of really nice corner routines, high balls at the far post. managed to cause a couple of scrambles with knock downs, on manual shooting though, heading is hard, one free kick i got Romagnoli to head across to Suso with the goal at his mercy, only for him to flump it over the bar off the top of his head. It actually looked really natural!

It looks like The AI is using a probabilty calculation for shooting..unless it's 98% chance of scoring they don't hit the ball. This explains why they don't shoot unless they are at a max of 18 yards unless there's no goalie in the net..how it feels

I agree with you on this. The only time i've seen this change is if I go ahead and they start getting desperate to equalise. Then I see them try and shoot from different parts of the penalty box and occasionally on the edge of the box. Not seen anyone shoot from more than 20 yards out. I hope players with long range skill look to shoot from range in the full game.

and still people are defending the AI programming....

not being able to round the keeper and score is a major flaw in PES since pes 2015, you have to admit guys on this, inside the box variation has been lacking a lot lately.

Agreed. I think in some old PES games the keeper would come out too much and was easy to go round them, but this just needs to be varied. It takes out the chance to dink the ball over an onrushing keeper too, so it's a shame that we lose some variety in goalscoring opportunities. They should always be closing down the angle to some degree in one on one's, even if by only a few yards. They can't be glued to the spot like they are in 2019. Don't think it was even this bad in 2018.

I've also had a couple of occasions where i've played a through ball which actually was slightly closer to the goalkeeper than my attacker. The space i played into was about 10-15 yards from both the keeper and my striker. Neither time did the keeper come out when they could have got the ball or at least closed down enough to make it almost impossible to score. Both times i got the ball and could walk upto about 8 yards out and score and easy goal (one i hit wide because i had expected the keeper to run out!).

Player models may look better in close-up on PS4, but i was talking about the antialiasing in gameplay cam. The grass textures look really prehistoric to me.

I really wonder why they non´t just compare a TV coverage and adapt the looks.

I really miss my past as a pc player in these moments. Would be the first one to download turf packages.
